Discussion of the Composition of Jaboticaba in Different Processes

This study discusses the composition analysis and comparison of Jaboticaba under different processing conditions for fermented liquid, jam, fruit powder, and fruit vinegar. The differences and comparison of the contents of total polyphenols, anthocyanins, resveratrol, superoxide dismutase, small molecular peptides and ellagic acid in their products were analyzed. After analysis and comparison of results, the content of total polyphenols was found to be the highest 44.82 ± 0.89 (mg/g) after being fermented directly from fresh fruit. The fresh fruit was dried at low temperature and ground into powder, with a maximum ellagic acid content of 12.799 ± 0.12 (mg/g). Fresh fruit was then made into jam, with the highest anthocyanin content of 57.39 ± 1.20 (mg/g). The fruit vinegar was produced by fermentation. Except for the content of small molecule peptides, which was similar to the content of fermentation broth and fruit powder, they were 20.63 ± 1.61, 23.84 ± 2.51 and 20.52 ± 1.21 (mg/g), and the rest of the composition was not as good as other samples. In the fresh fruit fermentation broth samples, resveratrol was produced and detected, and its content was 2.14 (mg/L), while it was not detected in other samples, and a superoxide dismutase (SOD)-like enzyme was detected in the fresh fruit fermentation broth. The highest activity was 49002.5 units/mL. Jaboticaba is prepared using a fermentation broth processing method with fresh fruit, and its total polyphenol content is higher than that of fruit powder, jam, and fruit vinegar. The commercial value of Jaboticaba and the establishment of composition content data are relatively improved, which is more promising for the future.

Lewis blood genotypes of peptic ulcer and gastric cancer patients in taiwan

AIM： The Lewis b （Le^b） antigen has been implicated as a possible binding site for attachment of Helicobacter pylori （H pylon） to gastric mucosa. However, studies both supporting and denying this association have been reported in the literature. Differences in secretor （Se） genotype have been suggested as a possible reason for previous discrepancies. Therefore, we investigated the relationship between Le and Se genotypes and Hpylori infection rates in people with peptic ulcer or gastric cancer. METHODS： Peripheral blood samples were obtained from 347 patients with endoscopic evidence of peptic ulcer disease （235 cases of duodenal ulcer, 62 of gastric ulcer, and 50 of combined duodenal ulcer/gastric ulcer） and 51 patients with gastric cancer on endoscopy. Peripheral blood specimens from 101 unrelated normal volunteers were used as controls. Lewis phenotype was determined using an antibody method, whereas Le and Se genotypes were determined by DNA amplification and restriction enzyme analysis. Gastric or duodenal biopsies taken from patients with endoscopic evidence of peptic ulcer or gastric cancer were cultured for Hpylotri Isolates were identified as Hpylori by morphology and production of urease and catalase. The Hpyloriinfection status was also evaluated by rapid urease test （CLO test）, and urea breath test （13^C-UBT）. Results of studies were analyzed by chi-square test （taken as significant）. RESULTS： Hpyloriwas isolated from 83.7% （303/347） of patients with peptic ulcer disease. Statistical analysis did not show any significant difference in Lewis phenotype or genotype between patients with and without Hpylori infection. Screening COVID-19 from chest X-ray images by an optical diffractive neural network with the optimized F number

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to significantly impact people's lives worldwide, emphasizing the critical need for effective detection methods. Many existing deep learning-based approaches for COVID-19 detection offer high accuracy but demand substantial computing resources, time, and energy. In this study, we introduce an optical diffractive neural network(ODNN-COVID), which is characterized by low power consumption, efficient parallelization, and fast computing speed for COVID-19 detection. In addition, we explore how the physical parameters of ODNN-COVID affect its diagnostic performance. We identify the F number as a key parameter for evaluating the overall detection capabilities. Through an assessment of the connectivity of the diffractive network, we established an optimized range of F number, offering guidance for constructing optical diffractive neural networks. In the numerical simulations, a three-layer system achieves an impressive overall accuracy of 92.64% and 88.89% in binary-and threeclassification diagnostic tasks. For a single-layer system, the simulation accuracy of 84.17% and the experimental accuracy of 80.83% can be obtained with the same configuration for the binary-classification task, and the simulation accuracy is 80.19% and the experimental accuracy is 74.44% for the three-classification task. Both simulations and experiments validate that the proposed optical diffractive neural network serves as a passive optical processor for effective COVID-19 diagnosis, featuring low power consumption, high parallelization, and fast computing capabilities. Furthermore, ODNN-COVID exhibits versatility, making it adaptable to various image analysis and object classification tasks related to medical fields owing to its general architecture.

＜正＞Objective:Cytomegalovirus（CMV）infection is one of the most important infectious complications after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation（HSCT）.Early detection of CMV infection with pre-emptive antiviral therapy is currently used after allogeneic *** we show the results of serial CMV status monitoring from a single institute in southern taiwan-a high CMV seroprevalence area. Methods:One hundred and six adult patients undergoing allogeneic HSCT in our institute from 1997 to 2007 were enrolled for *** patients were monitored with CMV PCR weekly till day 100,and CMV pp65 antigenemia assay was examined simultaneously in 86 of *** median follow-up was 38 months（range 1 to 132 months）.None of them received T-cell-depleted transplants. Donor positive and recipient positive（D+/R+）was found in 96.1% *** hepatitis B was found in 17.9%recipients and chronic hepatitis C in 3.8%*** incidence of CMV infection and CMV disease was 41.5%（median 45 days,range 7-167）and 5.7%（median 57 days,range 23-73） respectively.A combination of CMV antigenemia assay and PCR could increase the detection rate and allow earlier pre-emptive *** CMV infection was not a risk for overall survival（log-rank p=0.72）,but the development of CMV disease has a trend for survival disadvantage（log-rank p=0.06）,correlated with the effectiveness of pre-emptive *** gradeⅡ-Ⅳacute GVHD was identified to increase the risk of CMV infection from multivariate analysis（hazard ratio:3.95,95%CI:1.68-9.34, p=0.002）.The cumulative incidence of CMV infection and CMV disease at day 100 was 73.0%and 15.4%in patients with gradeⅡ-Ⅳacute GVHD,significantly different from patients with grade 0-Ⅰacute GVHD（p＜0.001）.The underlying chronic hepatitis B and C virus infection status,which is also endemic in taiwan,shows no association with CMV infection. A total of 10 specimens of Alcyonacea corals were collected at depths ranging from 905 m to 1633 m by the manned submersible Shenhai Yongshi during two cruises in the South China Sea(SCS).Based on mitochondrial genomic characteristics,morphological examination,and sclerite scanning electron microscopy,the samples were categorized into four suborders(Calcaxonia,Holaxonia,Scleraxonia,and Stolonifera),and identified as 9 possible new cold-water coral *** of GC-skew dissimilarity,phylogenetic distance,and average nucleotide identity(ANI)revealed a slow evolutionary rate for the octocoral mitochondrial *** nonsynonymous(Ka)to synonymous(Ks)substitution ratio(Ka/Ks)suggested that the 14 protein-coding genes(PCGs)were under purifying selection,likely due to specific deep-sea environmental *** analysis of the median Ka/Ks values of five gene families and environmental factors indicated that the genes encoding cytochrome b(cyt b)and DNA mismatch repair protein(mutS)may be influenced by environmental factors in the context of deep-sea species *** study highlights the slow evolutionary pace and adaptive mechanisms of deep-sea corals.

AIM To investigate the driver gene mutations associatedwith colorectal cancer （CRC） in the taiwan ***： In this study, 103 patients with CRCwere evaluated. The samples consisted of 66 menand 37 women with a median age of 59 years and anage range of 26-86 years. We used high-resolutionmelting analysis （HRM） and direct DNA sequencing tocharacterize the mutations in 13 driver genes of CRCrelatedpathways. The HRM assays were conductedusing the LightCycler？ 480 Instrument provided with the software LightCycler 480 Gene Scanning SoftwareVersion 1.5. We also compared the clinicopathologicaldata of CRC patients with the driver gene ***： Of the 103 patients evaluated, 73.79%had mutations in one of the 13 driver genes. Wediscovered 18 novel mutations in APC , MLH1 , MSH2 ,PMS2 , SMAD4 and TP53 that have not been previouslyreported. Additionally, we found 16 de novo mutationsin APC , BMPR1A , MLH1 , MSH2 , MSH6 , MUTYH andPMS2 in cancerous tissues previously reported in thedbSNP database; however, these mutations couldnot be detected in peripheral blood cells. The APCmutation correlates with lymph node metastasis（34.69% vs 12.96%, P = 0.009） and cancer stage（34.78% vs 14.04%, P = 0.013）. No association wasobserved between other driver gene mutations andclinicopathological features. Furthermore, having twoor more driver gene mutations correlates with thedegree of lymph node metastasis （42.86% vs 24.07%,P = 0.043）.CONCLUSION： Our findings confirm the importanceof 13 CRC-related pathway driver genes in the developmentof CRC in taiwan Residents patients.

This study aims to introduce the protocol for ultrasonic backscatter measurements of musculoskeletal properties based on a novel ultrasonic backscatter bone diagnostic(UBBD)***-energy X-ray absorptiometry(DXA)can be adopted to measure bone mineral density(BMD)in the hip,spine,legs and the whole *** muscle and fat mass in the legs and the whole body can be also calculated by DXA body composition *** on the proposed protocol for backscatter measurements by UBBD,ultrasonic backscatter signals can be measured in vivo,deriving three backscatter parameters[apparent integral backscatter(AIB),backscatter signal peak amplitude(BSPA)and the corresponding arrival time(BSPT)].AIB may provide important diagnostic information about bone *** and BSPT may be important indicators of muscle and fat *** standardized backscatter measurement protocol of the UBBD instrument may have the potential to evaluate musculoskeletal characteristics,providing help for promoting the application of the backscatter technique in the clinical diagnosis of musculoskeletal disorders(MSDs),such as osteoporosis and muscular atrophy.
