Random integration of massive distributed photovoltaic (PV) generation poses serious challenges to distribution networks. Voltage violations, line overloads, increased peak–valley differences, and power-flow reversals can occur at different locations, times, and severities. Traditional planning methods such as energy storage (ES) allocation and upgrading of lines may result in poor economics and low equipment utilization. This study proposes a distribution-network planning strategy that coordinates three planning mechanisms:ES allocation to substations and to feeders, and line upgrading. The proposed strategy achieved the lowest annual cost, considering the distribution network problems at different locations, times, and severities. A net load curve description method was first proposed considering economic planning and the uncertain distribution of loads and PVs. Second, a multistage optimization model for ES allocation and line upgrading was established based on the net load curves. Finally, an improved IEEE33 node system was used in the case study. The planning results show that the proposed coordinated planning strategy can address the problems caused by the random integration of massive distributed PVs, improve equipment utilization, and obtain the lowest total annual planning cost.

With the accelerated construction of new power systems, the Virtual Power Plant (VPP), a key component of the new energy framework, provides critical support for safe supply, energy conservation, and emission reduction for power systems. However, the increasingly diverse technological forms and application scenarios of VPPs present challenges for standardization in large-scale development. A timely summary and generalization of VPP development principles, construction pathways, and technical practices can promote technical synergy and drive industry growth. This paper takes the VPP in a megacity as a typical use case. It thoroughly discusses the top-level design of the VPP by reviewing and analyzing four perspectives of form, policy, market, and standards. Secondly, this paper examines a multi-spatiotemporal regulation technology system for VPPs from three dimensions precise response, regional coordination, and fast regulation, which supports the normalized operation of Shanghai’s VPP. Then, this paper introduces the large-scale demonstration outcomes of Shanghai’s VPP, offering a valuable reference for development constructions and innovative practices of VPPs at the megacity scale. Finally, by analyzing the construction and operational outlook of Shanghai's VPP, this paper distills a clear pathway for its future development. © 2025 Power System Technology Press. Clustering provides an effective way to prolong the lifetime of wireless sensor networks. One of the major issues of a clustering protocol is selecting an optimal group of sensor nodes as the cluster heads to divide the network. Another is the mode of inter-cluster communication. In this paper, an energy-balanced unequal clustering （EBUC） protocol is proposed and evaluated. By using the particle swarm optimization （PSO） algorithm, EBUC partitions all nodes into clusters of unequal size, in which the clusters closer to the base station have smaller size. The cluster heads of these clusters can preserve some more energy for the inter-cluster relay traffic and the ＇hot-spots＇ problem can be avoided. For inter-cluster communication, EBUC adopts an energy-aware multihop routing to reduce the energy consumption of the cluster heads. Simulation results demonstrate that the protocol can efficiently decrease the dead speed of the nodes and prolong the network lifetime.

The unavoidable dendrite growth and shuttle effect have long been stranglehold challenges limiting the safety and practicality of lithium-sulfur ***,we propose a dual-action strategy to address the lithium dendrite issue in stages by constructing a multifunctional surface-negatively-charged nanodiamond layer with high ductility and robust puncture resistance on polypropylene （PP） *** uniformly loaded compact negative layer can not only significantly enhance electron transmission efficiency and promote uniform lithium deposition,but also reduce the formation of dendrite during early deposition *** importantly,under the strong puncture stress encountered during the deterioration of lithium dendrite growth under limiting current,the high ductility and robust puncture resistance（145.88 MPa） of as-obtained nanodiamond layer can effectively prevent short circuits caused by unavoidable lithium *** Li||Li symmetrical cells assembled with nanodiamond layer modified PP demonstrated a stable cycle of over 1000 h at 2 mA cm-2with a polarization voltage of only 29.3 ***,the negative charged layer serves as a physical barrier blocking lithium polysulfide ions,effectively mitigating capacity *** improved cells achieved a capacity decay of only 0.042%per cycle after 700 cycles at 3 C,demonstrating effective suppression of dendrite growth and capacity attenuation,showing promising prospect.

Chili fermentation is one of the most important processes in the production of Pixian Douban (PXDB)， which determines the flavor and product quality of PXDB. However， the maturity of fermented chili mainly depends on empirical judgment， which can not satisfy the need for standardized production of PXDB. Therefore， this study aimed to investigate volatile and non-volatile substances during the maturation process and to find markers related to the maturity of fermented chili. GC×GC-MS combined with multivariate statistical analysis revealed that 2-methoxy-3-isobutyl pyrazine， linalool， 3-(methylthio)propionaldehyde， myrcene， and decanal (ROAV ≥ 1， VIP > 1， P < 0.05) were regarded as potentially active aromatic markers for differentiating fermentation time. Additionally， UPLC-QTOF-MS combined with multivariate statistical analysis resulted that 14 compounds can serve as differentiated non-volatile compounds. The correlation of maturity-related physico-chemical indicators with volatile and non-volatile compounds revealed that three volatile compounds (2-methoxy-3-isobutylpyrazine， linalool， and decanal) along with fructose and adenosine could serve as markers for evaluating the maturity of chili. This study is expected to establish a standard for the determination of maturity the fermented chili and lay the foundation for intelligent production of PXDB.

Pyrite Geochemistry and S-Hg Isotopes Reveal the Ore Genesis of the Hydrothermal Vein-type Cuiluan Ag-Pb-Zn Deposit in NE China

The Xing'an-Mongolian orogenic belt is an important Ag-Pb-Zn metallogenic province in China. The study on the genesis of the newly discovered Cuiluan hydrothermal vein-type Ag-Pb-Zn deposit located in the Lesser Xing'an Range， within the eastern of Xing'an-Mongolian orogenic belt， is pivotal in understanding the metallogenic mechanism and regularity of Ag-Pb-Zn deposits in this region. This study utilizes pyrite trace elements and sulfur isotopic geochemistry， and mercury isotope of rocks and ores to constrain the genesis of the Cuiluan deposit. Pyrite geochemical data show that Ag exists in the form of galena inclusions (Ag++(Bi3+， Sb3+) ? Pb2+) in the polymetallic sulfide stage， and independent Ag-bearing minerals （matildite and gustavite） precipitate during the main mineralization stage. The small varied δ34S values （3.24‰ - 4.94‰） of pyrites from four hydrothermal stages are within the range of magmatic S isotopes， indicating that the ore-forming fluid of the Cuiluan deposit mainly originated from the magma. The Δ199Hg values of the ores are close to 0‰， which are consistent with the Δ199Hg values of mantle， further indicating that the ore-forming materials came from the lithospheric mantle. Combined with the regional tectonic evolution， we conclude that the plate subduction of Paleo-oceans in NE China triggered the partial melting of metasomatized mantle. The mantle-derived magma rose along the deep fractures and evolved ore-forming fluids， and finally caused the formation of Cuiluan quartz vein-type Ag-Pb-Zn deposit in the shallow crust. Accompany with previous documents， we infer that the fractures in the large-scale “Granite Sea” in the Lesser Xing'an Range may have significant potential for vein-type Ag-Pb-Zn exploration.

The Solar X-ray Detector(SXD) on-board the Macao Science Satellite-1B(MSS-1B) was successfully launched via the Chinese Long March-2C rocket on 21 May 2023, and commenced operations in early June of the same year. The MSS-1B/Soft X-ray Detection Units(SXDUs) employ two silicon drift detectors(SDDs), providing a wide range of energy spectra spanning from 0.7 to 24 keV. Notably, the SXDUs deliver a high-resolution capability of 0.14 keV@5.9 keV and operate with a time cadence of 1 second. Here, we perform thorough calibrations of the MSS-1B/SXDUs, employing a combination of ground experiments and simulations. In addition, quantitative analysis comparing the flux measurements obtained by the MSS-1B/SXDUs to the data collected by the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite(GOES), provides compelling evidence of their consistency. Furthermore, the preliminary spectral analysis results showcase the robustness and expected performance of the MSS-1B/SXDUs, unlocking their potential for facilitating the study of dynamic evolution of solar flares. Moreover, the innovative MSS-1B/Solar X-ray Detector facilitates concurrent observations of solar soft and hard X-rays, thereby making valuable contributions to the advancements in solar research.
