This paper focuses on detecting diseased signals and arrhythmias classification into two classes:ventricular tachycardia and premature ventricular *** sole purpose of the signal detection is used to determine if a signal has been collected from a healthy or sick *** proposed research approach presents a mathematical model for the signal detector based on calculating the instantaneous frequency(IF).Once a signal taken from a patient is detected,then the classifier takes that signal as input and classifies the target disease by predicting the class *** applying the classifier,templates are designed separately for ventricular tachycardia and premature ventricular *** of a given signal with both the templates are computed in the spectral *** empirical analysis reveals precisions for the detector and the applied classifier are 100%and 77.27%,***,instantaneous frequency analysis provides a benchmark that IF of a normal signal ranges from 0.8 to 1.1 Hz whereas IF range for ventricular tachycardia and premature ventricular contraction is 0.08–0.6 *** indicates a serious loss of high-frequency contents in the spectrum,implying that the heart’s overall activity is slowed *** study may help medical practitioners in detecting the heart disease type based on signal analysis.

One-dimensional ZnMn2O4 nanowires have been prepared and investigated as anode materials in Li rechargeable batteries. The highly crystalline ZnMn2O4 nanowires about 15 nm in width and 500 nm in length showed a high specific capacity of about 650 mAh.g-1 at a current rate of 100 mA.g-1 after 40 cycles. They also exhibited high power capability at elevated current rates, i.e., 450 and 350 mAh.g 1 at current rates of 500 and 1000 mA.g 1, respectively. Formation of Mn3O4 and ZnO phases was identified by ex situ X-ray diffraction （XRD） and transmission electron microscopy （TEM） studies after the initial discharge-charge cycle, which indicates that the ZnMn2O4 phase was converted to a nanocomposite of Mn3O4 and ZnO phases immediately after the electrochemical conversion reaction.

The western flower thrips, Frankliniella occidentalis, is one of the most destructive sucking pests of vegetables, fruits and ornamental crops in China. Spinosad is one of the most commonly used insecticides to manage thrips. To assess the incidence of spinosad resistance in F. occidentalis field populations in eastern China, survival rates for 24 different populations were compared with those of a susceptible laboratory strain. All populations showed significantly higher resistance to spinosad compared with the control as determined by comparing median lethal concentrations. Two populations from Shouguang and Liaocheng in Shandong Province were classified as having moderate and high levels of resistance to spinosad with a mean resistance ratio of 17.0 and 89.2, respectively. Our research indicates a widespread reduction in spinosad efficacy for controlling F. occidentalis field populations, and that resistance management strategies should be implemented as soon as practicable, to reduce the potential of progressive resistance development and loss of efficacy.

Numerical Study on the Suppression of Shock Induced Separation on the Non-Adiabatic Wall

A numerical model is constructed to simulate the interaction of supersonic (M = 2.4 ) oblique shock wave / turbulent boundary layer on a strongly heated wall. The heated wall temperature is two times higher than the adiabatic wall temperature and the shock wave is strong enough to induce boundary layer separation. The turbulence model is Spalart-Allmaras model. The comparison of the wall pressure distribution with the experimental data ensures the validity of this numerical model. The effect of strong wall heating enlarges the separation region upstream and downstream. In order to eliminate the separation, wall bleeding is applied at the shock foot position. As a result of the parametric study, the best position of the bleeding slot is selected. The position of the bleeding is very important for the separation suppression. If the bleeding is applied upstream of shock foot, then separation reoccurs after the bleeding slot. If the bleeding is applied downstream of shock foot, the upstream boundary layer is little influenced and still separated. The bleeding vent width is about same as the upstream boundary layer thickness and suction mass flow is 20 to 80 % of the flow rate in the upstream boundary layer. The bleeding mass flow rate is very sensitive to the bleeding vent position if we fix the vent outlet pressure. The final configuration of the shock reflection pattern approaches to the non-viscous value when wall bleeding is applied at the shock impinging point.

Farmers are frequently exposed to ultraviolet（UV） radiation which causes various diseases by inducing oxidative *** study aimed to assess the effects of sunblock on oxidative stress in the ***-seven farmers were divided into two groups：those who wore sunblock for five days and those who did *** total antioxidant capacity（TAC） in urine,which is an antioxidant indicator,and 8-hydroxy-2-deoxyguanosine（8-OHdG） levels in urine,an oxidative stress indicator,were *** urinary TAC of sunblock users was significantly higher than that of non-users,but urinary 8-OHdG levels were not significantly *** after adjustment for potential confounders,urinary TAC was found to be markedly increased with sunblock *** results suggest that sunblock is effective in preventing oxidative stress among *** addition,they show that urinary TAC can be used as a good effect marker of oxidative stress caused by UV exposure.

Spatial Modeling of the Highest Daily Maximum Temperature in Korea via Max-stable Processes

This paper examines the annual highest daily maximum temperature （DMT） in Korea by using data from 56 weather stations and employing spatial extreme modeling. Our approach is based on max-stable processes （MSP） with Schlather＇s characterization. We divide the country into four regions for a better model fit and identify the best model for each region. We show that regional MSP modeling is more suitable than MSP modeling for the entire region and the pointwise generalized extreme value distribution approach. The advantage of spatial extreme modeling is that more precise and robust return levels and some indices of the highest temperatures can be obtained for observation stations and for locations with no observed data, and so help to determine the effects and assessment of vulnerability as well as to downscale extreme events.

Comparison of Bacterial Profiles of Fish between Storage Conditions at Retails Using DGGE and Banding Pattern Analysis: Consumer’s Perspective

Bacterial profiles between storage conditions (frozen vs fresh) were compared using PCR-DGGE and banding pattern analysis. Salmon and tuna were collected and the bacteria cells were separated from fish cells using a somatic cell re-leasing agent. The results demonstrated that some were indigenous waterborne bacteria. However, the majority were identified as spoilage bacteria, pathogens and potential fecal contamination bacteria. Banding pattern analysis showed that the storage conditions were a significant factor in clustering bacteria. Frozen fish showed a smaller number of bac-terial species than fresh samples. Freezing seemed to play a role as a selective pressure by inactivating some microor-ganisms while favoring resistant ones to low temperature. The bacterial profiles seemed to be more influenced by afterharvest practices than the original environmental contamination. These findings provide consumers insight into fish quality, potential health risks of raw fish consumption, and the impact of storage conditions on bacterial group of raw fish.

Objective To study prognostic characteristics of cardiac troponin I （cTnI） elevation in acute ischemic stroke. Methods We retrospectively studied patients （n = 248） with acute ischemic stroke, acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction, and acute non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction who were treated between January 2013 and October 2015. Baseline demographic data and changes in cTnI levels among these three groups were compared. Patients with acute ischemic stroke were assigned to either the cTnI elevation group （cTnI 〉 0.034 ng/mL） or the no cTnI elevation group （cTnI ≤ 0.034 ng/mL）. Logistic regression analysis was used to identify risk factors associated with elevated serum cTnI in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Moreover, the duration of hospital stay and incidence of major cardiovascular outcomes were compared in patients with acute ischemic stroke, with or without elevated cTnI. Results In this study population of patients with acute ischemic stroke （n = 178）, acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction （n = 35）, and acute non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction （n = 35）, patients with acute ischemic stroke with elevated cTnI comprised 18.54% of subjects. Patients with elevated cTnI were older and more likely to have a history of hypertension. In addition, these patients had higher levels of inflammatory markers, reduced renal functions, increased D-dimer levels, higher NIH stroke scores, and lower left ventricular ejection fractions. Logistic regression analysis showed that both percentage of neutrophil and NIH stroke scores were elevated; estimated glomerular filtration rate and left ventricular ejection fraction were decreased in patients with acute ischemic stroke who had elevated cTnI, and they had more frequent major cardiovascular events during hospital stay. Conclusion Elevated cTnI detected in patients with acute ischemic stroke, indicated a greater likelihood of poor short-term prognosis during hospital stay.
