In this paper a new finite-volume non-hydrostatic and shock-capturing three-dimensional model for the simulation of wave-structure interaction and hydrodynamic phenomena（wave refraction, diffraction, shoaling and breaking） is proposed. The model is based on an integral formulation of the Navier-Stokes equations which are solved on a time dependent coordinate system： a coordinate transformation maps the varying coordinates in the physical domain to a uniform transformed space. The equations of motion are discretized by means of a finite-volume shock-capturing numerical procedure based on high order WENO reconstructions. The solution procedure for the equations of motion uses a third order accurate Runge-Kutta（SSPRK） fractional-step method and applies a pressure corrector formulation in order to obtain a divergence-free velocity field at each stage. The proposed model is validated against several benchmark test cases.

Membrane separation systems could be a feasible option as post combustion carbon capture technologies in coal-fired power *** advancement on membrane materials based on microporous super glassy polymers could improve significantly the capture process but the properties of the materials have to guide the design of the separation stage. In this study an advanced hybrid two-stage membrane process employing one of the most permeable polymer known(PIM-1) is retrofitted to a coal fired power plant and the process is analysed in terms of energy requirement and cost performance. The results are based on the use of an in-house detailed membrane module model implemented in UniSim Design~?, the Honeywell process flowsheet simulator. The study indicates the need for advanced configuration in order for highly permeable membranes to be competitive with more mature technologies in terms of capture cost. The effect of ageing and impurities on the material is also investigated in order to predict the decline in process performance over time and suggest a timeproof design.

Background: Remote sensing-based inventories are essential in estimating forest cover in tropical and subtropical countries, where ground inventories cannot be performed periodically at a large scale owing to high costs and forest inaccessibility(e.g. REDD projects) and are mandatory for constructing historical records that can be used as forest cover baselines. Given the conditions of such inventories, the survey area is partitioned into a grid of imagery segments of pre-fixed size where the proportion of forest cover can be measured within segments using a combination of unsupervised(automated or semi-automated) classification of satellite imagery and manual(i.e. visual on-screen)enhancements. Because visual on-screen operations are time expensive procedures, manual classification can be performed only for a sample of imagery segments selected at a first stage, while forest cover within each selected segment is estimated at a second stage from a sample of pixels selected within the segment. Because forest cover data arising from unsupervised satellite imagery classification may be freely available(e.g. Landsat imagery)over the entire survey area(wall-to-wall data) and are likely to be good proxies of manually classified cover data(sample data), they can be adopted as suitable auxiliary ***: The question is how to choose the sample areas where manual classification is carried out. We have investigated the efficiency of one-per-stratum stratified sampling for selecting segments and pixels, where to carry out manual classification and to determine the efficiency of the difference estimator for exploiting auxiliary information at the estimation level. BACKGROUND Interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome(IC/BPS)is an at least 6-mo noninfectious bladder inflammation of unknown origin characterized by chronic suprapubic,abdominal,and/or pelvic *** the term cystitis suggests an inflammatory or infectious origin,no definite cause has been *** occurs in both sexes,but women are twice as much *** To systematically review evidence of psychiatric/psychological changes in persons with IC/*** Hypothesizing that particular psychological characteristics could underpin IC/BPS,we investigated in three databases the presence of psychiatric symptoms and/or disorders and/or psychological characteristics in patients with IC/BPS using the following strategy:("interstitial cystitis"OR"bladder pain syndrome")AND("mood disorder"OR depressive OR antidepressant OR depression OR depressed OR hyperthymic OR mania OR manic OR rapid cyclasterisk OR dysthymiasterisk OR dysphoriasterisk).RESULTS On September 27,2023,the PubMed search produced 223 articles,CINAHL 62,and the combined PsycLIT/PsycARTICLES/PsycINFO/Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection search *** on *** produced 14 studies,of which none had available *** were peer-reviewed articles reporting psychiatric/psychological symptoms in patients with IC/BPS,i.e.63 articles spanning from 2000 to October *** studies identified depression and anxiety problems in the IC/BPS population,along with sleep problems and the tendency to *** Psychotherapies targeting catastrophizing and life stress emotional awareness and expression reduced perceived pain in women with IC/*** concepts should be considered when implementing treatments aimed at reducing IC/BPS-related pain.
