Background:The determinants of physical activity(PA)and body fatness in chinese adolescents are rarely *** study aimed to investigate the effect of attitude toward PA,screen time,parents'socioeconomic status(SES),and exercise habit on PA and body fatness among chinese children by using structural equation modeling(SEM)***:Data obtained from the second Community Fitness Survey in Hong Kong region were utilized,in which students from one secondary school of each of the 18 districts of Hong Kong were recruited.A total of 2517 questionnaires with physical fitness items were successfully distributed to students aged 13-19 years in these ***'SES,parents'exercise habit,children's intention to participate in PA,amount of moderate to vigorous PA(MVPA),screen time,children's attitude toward PA,and children's body fat percentage were measured and analyzed with *** structural equation model was composed of a measurement model and a structural *** model was tested with Mplus *** chi-square test,root mean square error of approximation,comparative fi t index,and Tucker-Lewis index were calculated to evaluate model *** model was then modifi ed based on the model fi t ***:children's intention to participate in PA was a strong predictor of their engagement in ***'exercise habit had both direct and indirect(via attitude)effects on their children's intention to participate in *** time was not a predictor of body ***'s intention to participate in PA directly affected their body ***'s attitude toward PA,parents'exercise habit,and SES had signifi cant effects on the children's intention to participate in ***,obesity had a negative effect on the children's attitude toward ***:To promote MVPA and prevent obesity in chinese children of Hong Kong region,it is important to design intervention that enhances children's intention and attitude in PA,as well as pa

Also known as a prebiotic, fructooligosaccharide (FOS) resists digestion by gastric acid and pancreatic enzymes in vivo, but is preferentially fermented by beneficial intestinal bacteria once it reaches the colon. While some studies suggest that FOS and its fermentation products may influence the iron absorption process, the effects of prolonged FOS supplementation on iron status remain unclear. The objective of this study was therefore to determine the enhancing effects of FOS supplementation on the iron status of anemic rats. Male Sprague-Dawley rats receiving a low-iron diet (12 μg/g) for 14 days showed significantly lower hemoglobin concentration, as well as lower tissue non-heme iron levels than rats receiving a regular diet (45 μg/g), confirming iron-deficiency anemia. On the first day of the feeding trial, two groups of anemic rats (n = 6) were fed the same low-iron diet with or without FOS supplementation, while two other groups of anemic rats were switched to the regular diet with or without FOS supplementation to allow recovery. FOS was provided to the rats by dissolving in water at 5% (w/v). Anemic rats fed the low-iron diet showed a mild increase (p < 0.05) in hemoglobin level after 21 days of FOS supplementation when compared to rats without FOS. For anemic rats switched to the regular diet, hemoglobin level returned to normal after 14 days and FOS supplementation showed no additional effects. Our results suggest that FOS supplementation has a mild enhancing effect on the iron status of anemic subjects on a low-iron diet.

Idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome （HES） is a heterogeneous disorder characterized by hypereosinophilia and organ damage which affects men more commonly than women （9：1）. The disease can be detected incidentally, but more often presents either insidiously or acutely with cardiac, neurological, cutaneous, pulmonary or gastro- intestinal manifestations, with cardiac involvement being a major cause of morbidity and morality in patients. 1.2 Although a major mechanism of tissue damage in HES is due to thromboembolism,3 fullblown disseminated intravascular coagulation （DIC） is apparently rare. This paper describes a man who presented acutely with life-threatening DIC complicating HES and its management, the first chinese case reported in the literature.

We present a CCD photometry study of a newly discovered active eclipsing binary in the field of open cluster NGC 1348 based on the first time-series photometric observation. From the minimum times, we determined an orbital period of P = 0.691363 d. Among our datasets, the BV（.RI）c light curves obtained in November 2008 were analyzed using the Wilson-Devinney light curve modeling tech- nique. Because of the uncertainty of the membership of this binary in open cluster NGC 1348, we have analyzed the photometric data in two cases with different primary effective temperatures： Case A （T1 = 7750K） and Case B （T1 = 5250K）. Our anal- yses reveal that, for Case A, it is a deep （f 〉 70%）, very low mass ratio （q - 0.096） binary system, indicating that it is now in the late evolution stage of a contact binary; while for Case B, it is a red system with extraordinarily long orbital period with respect to the period-color relation for normal contact binaries, which suggests that this binary has evolved off the main sequence. The well known O＇Connell effect （e.g., AB 0.03 mag） was found in the dataset obtained in November 2008, which could be due to the existence of starspots on the components, therefore the corresponding spot properties （for Case A： hot spot; for Case B： dark spot） were determined using the Wilson-Devinney code. With the purpose of analyzing the dark spot activity for Case B, we compared the light curves derived in different observing runs, and found that a slight change appeared from November to December, 2008, which indicates the evolution of spot activity on at least one component over a time scale of about one month.

One critical issue for routing in cognitive radio ad hoc networks (CRAHNs) is how to select a reliable path for forwarding traffic. This is because mobility may cause radio links to break frequently. The reliability of a path depends on the availability of those links that constitutes the path. In this letter, we present a novel approach to predict the probability of the availability of the link between two cognitive radio nodes. The prediction is achieved by estimating the link activation and spectrum activation probabilities. Our prediction is verified by simulation and proved to be accurate. This study can provide reliability assurance on dynamic routing for cognitive radio ad hoc networks.

A series of N-base appended corroles and their manganese complexes were synthesized and their binding constants with three different nitrogenous ligands, triethylamine, N-methylimidazole and pyridine, were evaluated by spectroscopy. kinetic studies indicated that the presence of appended N- donor ligands may cause a significant enhancement of the rate of oxygen atom transfers （OAT） from （oxo）manganese（V） corrole to alkene, and the stronger axial ligand binding has impact on the rate of the oxidation reaction. Turnover frequency （TOF） for the catalytic oxidation of alkenes by appended manganese corroles varies with the following ligand order： acetamido 〈 pyridyl 〈 imidazolyl. The influence of the external axial ligands on the catalytic epoxidation was investigated by using appended acetamido manganese corrole as catalyst, with the results revealing that N-methylimidazole gave the best enhancement on the yields of total oxidation products among the investigated nitrogenous ligands.

china’s coastal wetlands provide breeding,migration stopover,and wintering habitats for about 230 waterbird species,which is more than a quarter of all waterbirds in the ***-scale and high intensity human activities have resulted in serious loss and degradation of coastal wetlands over the past half century,causing population declines in many *** a literature review and expert surveys,this article reviews conservation measures taken in recent decades to protect waterbirds in china’s coastal wetlands and provides recommendations for future conservation action from three aspects:policy and administration,habitat conservation and management,and multiparty *** the past decades,many conservation legislation,regulations and action plans at the national level and more site-specific measures and interventions have been implemented,with notable improvement in the effectiveness in policy making and multi-stakeholder ***,some threats to waterbirds have been mitigated and many key sites for waterbirds have been designated as strictly protected nature ***,some critical issues still remain,mostly related to habitat conservation and management,such as coastal wetland restoration,control of invasive Spartina alterniflora,control of environmental pollution,and improvement of artificial habitat *** highlight that protecting natural tidal wetlands and improving habitat quality are critical for the conservation of coastal waterbirds,especially those highly dependent on the intertidal *** has demonstrated strong commitment to ecological conservation and restoration for the future,in terms of both funding and policies for biodiversity and wetland *** is important that this commitment to conserve coastal waterbirds is supported continuously by science-and evidence-based decisions and actions.
