Experimental study on atomization characteristics and dust-reduction performance of four common types of pressure nozzles in underground coal mines

Pressure nozzle is commonly used in the dust-reduction techniques by spraying of underground coal *** on the internal structure,the pressure nozzle can be divided into the following types:spiral channel nozzle,tangential flow-guided nozzle and X-swirl *** order to provide better guidance on the selection of nozzles for the coal mine dust-reduction systems by spraying,we designed comparing experiments to study the atomization characteristics and dust-reduction performance of four commonly used nozzles in the coal mine underground with different internal *** the experimental results on the atomization characteristics,both the tangential flow-guided nozzle and the X-swirl nozzle have high flow *** atomization angle is the largest in the spiral non-porous nozzle,and smallest in both the X-swirl nozzle and the spiral porous *** spraying range and the droplet velocity are inversely proportional to the atomization *** the water pressure is low,the atomization performance of the spiral non-porous nozzle is the best among the four types of *** atomization performance of the X-swirl nozzle is superior to other types when the water pressure is *** the high water pressure,the particle size of the atomized droplets is smallest in the X-swirl *** the experiments on the dust-reduction performance of the four types of nozzles and the comprehensive analysis,the X-swirl nozzle is recommended for the coal mine application site with low water pressure in the dust-reduction system,while at the sites with high water pressure,the spiral non-porous nozzle is recommended,which has the lowest water consumption and obvious economic advantages.

BACKGROUND Transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)is a recommended treatment for patients with intermediate stage hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)but with variable treatment *** To determine factors for predicting outcomes of TACE in patients with intermediate stage B *** Patients with Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer(BCLC)stage B HCC who underwent TACE as the primary treatment were enrolled at Taichung Veterans General Hospital from January 2005 to December *** were assigned to either the objective responder(OR)group or the non-OR group according to mRECIST *** and radiological characteristics were compared between the 2 *** overall survival of enrolled subjects was *** In 128 enrolled patients,66(51.6%)were in the OR group and 62(48.4%)in the non-OR *** with the non-OR group,the OR group had a significantly smaller HCC size(6.55 cm vs 9.50 cm,P=0.001)and was within the up-to-7 criteria(50%vs 26.7%,P=0.001).After multivariable analyses,these significant associations still *** survival rate of all the subjects averaged 20.65±13.26 *** survival rate at 1-year was 64.8%,2-year was 46.9%,and 3-year was 31.2%.For those patients with OR to TACE,smaller tumor size and within up-to-7 criteria were associated with significantly better overall *** patients with subgroup B1 had the highest OR ratio(75%)and better overall survival(26.70±12.07 mo)after *** BCLC stage B HCC patients with smaller tumor size or within up-to-7 criteria had better survival outcomes to *** stage B subgroup is useful to predict refractoriness to TACE.

Blade bowing effects on radial equilibrium of inlet flow in axial compressor cascades

The circumferentially averaged equation of the inlet flow radial equilibrium in axial compressor was deduced. It indicates that the blade inlet radial pressure gradient is closely related to the radial component of the circumferential fluctuation（CF） source item. Several simplified cascades with/without aerodynamic loading were numerically studied to investigate the effects of blade bowing on the inlet flow radial equilibrium. A data reduction program was conducted to obtain the CF source from three-dimensional（3D） simulation results. Flow parameters at the passage inlet were focused on and each term in the radial equilibrium equation was discussed quantitatively. Results indicate that the inviscid blade force is the inducement of the inlet CF due to geometrical asymmetry. Blade bowing induces variation of the inlet CF, thus changes the radial pressure gradient and leads to flow migration before leading edge（LE） in the cascades. Positive bowing drives the inlet flow to migrate from end walls to mid-span and negative bowing turns it to the reverse direction to build a new equilibrium. In addition, comparative studies indicate that the inlet Mach number and blade loading can efficiently impact the effectiveness of blade bowing on radial equilibrium in compressor design.

Biological Properties of chitosan Films with Different Degree of Deacetylation

chitin and chitosan films were prepared by solution casting method. chitosan specimens used in this study were deacetylated by 50.4%, 69.2%, 85.5% and 96.3%. Their water content, protein adhesion ability, cytocompatibility, cell adhesion ability, in vitro and vivo degradability and biocompatibility were evaluated. Results indicated that with the degree of deacetylation （DD） between 50% and 70%, the chitosan showed higher water content. The higher the DD, the stronger protein adhesion ability the chitosan had. All the films have good cytocompatibility and the films with higher DD have better cell adhesion ability. chitin films degraded more rapidly than others, which disappeared in 2 to 4 weeks after they were implanted in subcutaneous tissue and musculature. Their inflammatory reaction became weaker as the films degraded. As the DD got higher, the films degraded slower. The films of DD 85.5% and DD 90.3% even didn＇t disappeared in 12 weeks after they were implanted. Their inflammatory reaction was mild at the beginning of degradation, and became severe in 4 to 8 weeks, then weaken at last. This basic result can be very helpful for tissue engineering.

Arbitrary amplitude femtosecond pulse shaping via a digital micromirror device

An ultrafast spectrum programmable femtosecond laser may enhance the performance of a wide variety of scientific applications,e.g.,multi-photon *** this paper,we report a digital micromirror device(DMD)-based ultrafast pulse shaper,i.e.,DUPS,for femtosecond laser arbitrary amplitude shaping-the first time a programmable binary device reported to shape the amplitudes of ultrafast pulses spectrum at up to 32 kHz rate over a broad wavelength *** DUPS is highly effcient,compact,and low cost based on the use of a DMD in combination with a transmission *** and temporal dispersion introduced by the DUPS is compensated by a quasi-4-f setup and a grating pair,*** pulses with arbitrary spectrum shapes,including rectangular,sawtooth,triangular,double-pulse,and exponential profile,have been demonstrated in our experiments.A feedback operation process is implemented in the DUPS to ensure a robust and repeatable shaping *** total effciency of the DUPS for amplitude shaping is measured to be 27%.

The crosstalk between signaling and metabolic pathways has been known to play key roles in human diseases and plant biological *** integration of signaling and metabolic pathways can provide an essential reference framework for crosstalk ***,current databases use distinct structures to present signaling and metabolic pathways,which leads to the chaos in the integrated ***,for the metabolic pathways,the metabolic enzymes and the reactions are disconnected by the current widely accepted layout of edges and nodes,which hinders the topological analysis of the integrated ***,we propose a novel“meta-pathway”structure,which uses the uniformed structure to display the signaling and metabolic pathways,and resolves the difficulty in linking the metabolic enzymes to the reactions *** compiled a comprehensive collection of global integrative networks(GINs)by merging the meta-pathways of 7077 *** demonstrated the assembly of the signaling and metabolic pathways using the GINs of four species—human,mouse,Arabidopsis,and *** all of the nodes were assembled into one major network for each of the four species,which provided opportunities for robust crosstalk and topological analysis,and knowledge graph construction.

Photoactive complexes of nonprecious transition metals, mainly including those in the first-row and partially the second-row of the Periodic table of elements, have received increasing attention in view of their low cost and long-term sustainability. They are recognized as promising alternatives to noble transition metal complex congeners that have been extensively studied in optoelectronic devices, artificial photosynthesis, photocatalysis, biodiagnostics, and therapeutics, etc. This review is devoted to a comprehensive summary on the classical and recent advances on photoactive nonprecious transition metal complexes, including photoactive Zr, V, Cr, Mo, and W complexes, Mn complexes and hybrids, Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu complexes, and Zn and Cd complexes and hybrids. A particular focus is given on the molecular design, modulation of photophysical and photochemical properties, and applications of the representative and lately-developed nonprecious metal complexes. In addition, a perspective on the future development in this field is provided at the end of this review.
