Because of its large capacity,high efficiency and energy savings,the subway has gradually become the primary mode of transportation for citizens.A high density of passengers exists within a large-passenger-flow subway station,and the number of casualties and injuries during a fire emergency is *** this paper,Pathfinder software and on-site measured data of Pingzhou station in Shenzhen(China)were utilized to simulate a fire emergency evacuation in a large-passenger-flow subway *** Required Safe Egress Time(RSET),number of passengers and flow rates of stairs and escalators were analysed for three fire evacuation scenarios:train fire,platform fire and hall *** evacuation time of the train fire,which was 1173 s,was the longest,and 3621 occupants needed to evacuate when the train was fully *** could not complete the evacuation within 6 mins in all three fire evacuation scenarios,which does not meet the current standard requirements and *** changing the number of passengers and the number of stairs for evacuation,the flow rate capacity and evacuation time were explored,which have reference values for safety management and emergency evacuation plan optimization during peak hours of subway operation.

Metal organic frameworks have been employed as high-performance layered double hydroxide(LDH)composite supercapacitor electrode materials but have shown unsatisfactory redox ability and ***,a host-guest CuMo-based polyoxomet-alate-based metal organic framework(POMOF)with copious electrochemically active sites and strong electrochemical redox activi-ties has been effectively coupled with POM-incorporated CoNi-LDH to develop a nanocomposite(NENU-5@CoNi-LDH)by a simple solvothermal *** designed electrode shows a high specific capacity of 333.61 mAh·g^(-1) at 1 A·g^(-1).In addition,the novel hy-brid symmetric supercapacitor NENU-5@CoNi-LDH/active carbon(AC)demonstrated a high energy density of 80.8 Wh·kg^(-1) at a power density of 750.7 W·kg^(-1).Interestingly,the nanocomposite of NENU-5@CoNi-LDH exhibits an outstanding capacitance reten-tion of 79%after 5000 charge-discharge cycles at 10 A·g^(-1).This work provides a new strategy and will be the backbone for future energy storage research.

The Internet of Things(IoT)1,2 employs a large number of spatially distributed wireless sensors to monitor physical environments,e.g.,temperature,humidity,and air pressure,and has many applications,including environmental monitoring3,health care monitoring4,smart cities5,and precision agriculture.A wireless sensor can collect,analyze,and transmit measurements of its environment1,***,wireless sensors used in the IoT are predominately based on electronic devices that may suffer from electromagnetic interference in many *** immune to the electromagnetic interference,optical sensors provide a significant advantage in harsh ***,by introducing optical resonance to enhance light–matter interactions,optical sensors based on resonators exhibit small footprints,extreme sensitivity,and versatile functionalities7,8,which can significantly enhance the capability and flexibility of wireless *** we provide the first demonstration of a wireless photonic sensor node based on a whisperinggallery-mode(WGM)optical resonator,in which light propagates along the circular rim of such a structure like a sphere,a disk,or a toroid by continuous total internal *** sensor node is controlled via a customized iOS *** performance was studied in two practical scenarios:(1)real-time measurement of the air temperature over 12 h and(2)aerial mapping of the temperature distribution using a sensor node mounted on an unmanned *** work demonstrates the capability of WGM optical sensors in practical applications and may pave the way for the large-scale deployment of WGM sensors in the IoT.

The lithium-sulfur battery has attracted enormous attention as being one of the most significant energy storage technologies due to its high energy density and ***,the "shuttle effect" of polysulfide intermediates represents a formidable challenge towards its wide ***,we have designed and synthesized two-dimensional Cu,Zn and Sn-based multimetallic sulfide nanosheets to construct multi-active sites for the immobilization and entrapment of polysulfides with offering better performance in liquid Li2S6-based lithium-polysulfide *** experimental measurements and theoretical computations demonstrate that the interfacial multi-active sites of multimetallic sulfides not only accelerate the multi-chained redox reactions of highly diffusible polysulfides,but also strengthen affinities toward *** adopting multimetallic sulfide nanosheets as the sulfur host,the liquid Li2 S6-based cell exhibits an impressive rate capability with 1200 mAh/g and retains 580 mAh/g at 0.5 mA/cm^(2) after 1000 *** high sulfur mass loading conditions,the cell with 2.0 mg/cm^(2) sulfur loading delivers a cell capacity of 1068 mAh/g and maintains 480 mAh/g with 0.8 mA/cm^(2) and 500 *** study provides new insights into the multifunctional material design with multi-active sites for elevated lithium-polysulfide batteries.

The development of high–efficiency and low–cost bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts is critical to enlarge application of zinc–air batteries(ZABs). However, it still remains challenges due to their uncontrollable factor at atomic level during the catalysts preparation, which requires the precise regulation of active sites and structure engineering to accelerate the reaction kinetics for both oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction(OER). Herein, a novel Co–doped mixed lanthanum oxide and hydroxide heterostructure(termed as Co–La MOH|OV@NC) was synthesized by pyrolysis of La–MOF–NH_(2) with spontaneous cobalt doping. Synergistic coupling of its hollow structure, doping effect and abundant oxygen vacancies creates more active sites and leads to higher electroconductivity, which contribute to the better performance. As employed as a bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst, the resulting 3 Co–La MOH|OV@NC exhibits superior electrocatalytic activity for both ORR and OER. In assembled ZAB, it also demonstrates an excellent power density of 110.5 m W cm^(-2), high specific capacity of 810 m Ah g_(Zn)^(-1), and good stability over 100 h than those of Pt/C + RuO_(2). Density functional theory(DFT) calculation reveals that the heterointerfaces coupled with oxygen vacancies lead to an enhanced charge state and electronic structure, which may optimize the conductivity, charge transfer, and the reaction process of *** study provides a new strategy for designing highly efficient bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts based on rare earth oxide and hydroxides heterointerface.

Amorphous pseudocapacitive nanomaterials are highly desired in energy storage applications for their disordered crystal structures,fast electrochemical dynamics,and outstanding cyclic stability,yet hardly achievable using the state-of-the-art synthetic ***,for the first time,high capacitive fiber electrodes embedded with nanosized amorphous molybdenum trioxide(A-MoO_(3)-x)featuring an average particle diameter of~20 nm and rich oxygen vacancies are obtained via a top-down method usingα-MoO_(3)bulk belts as the *** Jahn-Teller distortion in MoO_(6)octahedra due to the doubly degenerate ground state of Mo5+,which can be continuously strengthened by oxygen vacancies,triggers the phase transformation ofα-MoO_(3)bulk belts(up to 30μm long and 500 nm wide).The optimized fibrous electrode exhibits among the highest volumetric performance with a specific capacitance(CV)of 921.5 F cm^(-3)under 0.3 A cm^(-3),endowing the fiber-based weaveable supercapacitor superior CV and EV(energy density)of 107.0 F cm^(-3)and 9.5 mWh cm^(-3),respectively,together with excellent cyclic stability,mechanical robustness,and rate *** work demonstrates a promising strategy for synthesizing nanosized amorphous materials in a scalable,cost-effective,and controllable manner.
