β-Conglycinin is one of the major allergens existed in soybean.N-Glycans attached to theβ-conglycinin influenced the immunoreactivity and antigen presenting efficiency ofβ-conglycinin.In this study,we described a new method used to release and collect the N-glycans fromβ-conglycinin,and the N-glycans existed in linear epitopes ofβ-conglycinin were identified.Glycopeptides hydrolyzed fromβ-conglycinin were purified by cotton hydrophilic chromatography.Trifluoromethylsulfonic acid was then used to release glycans from glycopeptides,and new glycopeptides containing one single N-acety1-D-glucosamine(G1 cNAc)moiety were then utilized for mass spectrometry.Five glycosylation sites(Asn-199,Asn-455,Asn-215,Asn-489 and Asn-326)and 22 kinds of glycopeptides were identified.It is noteworthy that the peptide VVN^(#)ATSNL(where^(#)represents for the glycosylation site)was analyzed to be both glycopeptide and linear epitope.Our results provided a new method for the N-glycoform analysis of food allergens,and laid a foundation for understanding the relationship between glyco sylation and food allergy.

Primary liver cancer is a common and lethal malignancy in China.Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE)is globally recognized as the preferred treatment modality for the non-surgical resection of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),while transcatheter arterial infusion(TAI)is another effective interventional treatment for HCC.In recent years,hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy(HAIC)has gained increasing attention as an application-regulated modality for TAI.Owing to the current debate in the medical community regarding the use of HAIC and TACE for the treatment of HCC,the application of both approaches should be considered at a higher level,with a broader perspective and a more normative aspect.Accordingly,we aimed to define the rational combination of liver cancer TAI/HAIC with TACE as infusion transcatheter chemoembolization(iTACE),which suggests that the two interventions are not superior but lead to a mutually beneficial situation.In this review,we sought to discuss the development,specification,application,challenge and innovation,debate,and union of TAI/HAIC and TACE,and the clinical application and latest research on iTACE.We aimed to introduce new concepts of iTACE and expect new breakthroughs in the treatment of liver cancer owing to the combined use of the two major interventional tools.

The performance of biodegradable magnesium alloy requires special attention to rapid degradation and poor biocompatibility, which can cause the implant to fail. Here, a sodium montmorillonite(MMT)/bovine serum albumin(BSA) composite coating was prepared upon magnesium alloy AZ31 via hydrothermal synthesis, followed by dip coating. We evaluated the surface characterization and corrosion behavior in vitro, and the biocompatibility in vitro and in vivo. Biodegradation progress of the MMT-BSA coated Mg pieces was examined through hydrogen evolution, immersion tests, and electrochemical measurements in Hank’s solution. In vitro biocompatibility studies were evaluated via hemolysis tests, dynamic cruor time tests, platelet adhesion, MTT testing and live-dead stain of osteoblast cells(MC3 T3-E1). It was found that the MMT-BSA coating had good corrosion resistance and a marked improvement in biocompatibility in comparison to bare Mg alloy AZ31. in vivo studies were carried out in rat model and the degradation was characterized by computed tomography scans. Results revealed that the MMT-BSA coated Mg alloy AZ31 implants maintained their structural integrity and slight degradation after 120 d of post-implantation. A100% survival rate for the rats was observed with no obvious toxic damages on the organs and tissues.Additionally, we proposed a sound coating formation mechanism. Considering the good corrosion protection and biocompatibility, the MMT-BSA coated Mg alloy AZ31 is a promising candidate material for biomedical implants.

Biodegradation of N,N-dimethylacetamide by Rhodococcus sp.strain B83 isolated from the rhizosphere of pagoda tree

In this work,a novel NiCo Alloy nanoparticles decorated on N-doped porous carbon nanofibers(NiCo@N-PCNFs) material was prepared.The preparation process mainly consists of three parts:Firstly,the Ni-Co-MOFs was prepared;then Ni-Co-MOFs/PAN nanofiber composite was prepared by one step electrospinning;At last,the bimetallic NiCo alloy nanoparticles decorated on N-doped porous carbon nanofibers was prepared by simple carbonization in Ar atmosphere.During the carbonization process,the Ni-Co-MOFs serves as a pore-forming agent template and a dopant.The morphology and internal structure of Ni-Co-MOFs,Ni-Co-MOFs/PAN,and NiCo@N-PCNFs were characterized by SEM and TEM.The element chemical composite and state of NiCo@N-PCNFs was characterized by XPS spectra.The BET results indicated NiCo@N-PCNFs has a high specific surface area.The electrochemical performances about oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) and oxygen envolution reaction(OER) were tested.This work provides a novel idea for the preparation of electrocatalytic composite materials.

The biodegradation characteristic and potential metabolic pathway for removal of environmental N,N-dimethylacetamide （DMAC） by Rhodococcus sp. strain B83 was studied. Rhodococcus sp. strain B83 was isolated from the rhizosphere of a pagoda tree and proved capable of utilizing DMAC as sole source of carbon and nitrogen. Batch culture studies showed that strain B83 could tolerate up to 25 g/L DMAC and showed distinct growth on possible catabolic intermediates except for acetate. The nitrogen balance analysis revealed that approximately 71% of the initial nitrogen was converted to organic nitrogen. DMAC degradation has led to accumulation of acetate and organic nitrogen, meanwhile traces of nitrate and ammonia was build-up but without nitrite. The growth of strain B83 could be inhibited by adding exogenous acetate. By means of the assay of enzymatic degradation of DMAC, several catabolic intermediates at different intervals were observed and identified. Based on the results obtained from culture solution and enzymatic degradation assay, a detailed pathway is proposed for DMAC biodegradation.

The synthesis of degradable polymers with easy-to-break in-chain carbon-oxygen bonds has attracted much attention.This minireview introduces the synthesis of a variety of degradable polymers from the(co)polymerizations of several typical oxygenated monomers such as epoxides,cyclic carbonates,cyclic esters,carbon dioxide(CO_(2)),carbonyl sulfide(COS),and cyclic anhydrides.We highlight the catalysts and mechanisms for these(co)polymerizations.The ring-opening copolymerization of five-membered carbonate with cyclic anhydride or COS has been introduced.We also highlight the synthesis of block copolymers and cyclic copolymers with well-defined sequences by the method of growing center switching.We hope that these new polymerization systems can provide new ideas for the development of degradable low-carbon polymers in the future.

Portal vein embolization in the treatment of portal vein bleeding after percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage: A case report and literature review

Percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage(PTBD)is an effective treatment for benign and malignant obstructive jaundice.Major bleeding complications occur in approximately 2–3%of patients after PTBD,which can result in death.A case involving a 63-year-old male with malignant obstructive jaundice,who experienced severe bleeding after PTBD,is reported.Emergency digital subtraction angiography,celiac trunk artery and superior mesenteric artery angiography were performed;however,no signs of arterial bleeding were found.To identify etiology,portal venography was performed under ultrasound guidance and portal vein bleeding was diagnosed.Ultimately,selective portal vein embolization successfully stopped the bleeding.
