Reservoir heterogeneity controls of CO_(2)-EOR and storage potentials in residual oil zones:Insights from numerical simulations

Residual oil zones(ROZs)have large potential for CO_(2)enhanced oil recovery(EOR)and geologic *** CO_(2)injection,the migration of CO_(2)in ROZs controls the performance of both EOR and ***,it has not been clearly visualized and understood that how geological heterogeneity factors control the transport of CO_(2)in *** this study,the oil recovery performance and geologic storage potential during continuous CO_(2)injection in a representative ROZ are studied based on geostatistical modelling and high-fidelity three-phase flow *** examined the influence of autocorrelation length of permeability,global heterogeneity(DykstraeParsons coefficient),and permeability anisotropy on cumulative oil recovery and CO_(2)retention *** results indicate that,as the permeability autocorrelation length increases,the cumulative oil recovery and CO_(2)storage efficiency *** results from the accelerated migration of CO_(2)along high permeability zones(i.e.,gas channeling).The increase in global heterogeneity and permeability anisotropies can lead to low oil recovery and poor CO_(2)sequestration performance,depending on the degree of CO_(2)*** net utilization ratio of CO_(2)(CO_(2)retained/oil produced)unfavorably increases with both autocorrelation length and Dykstra eParsons coefficient,but decreases with the increase in kv/*** a decrease is attributed to enlarged swept volume induced by gravity *** study provides important implications for fieldscale CO_(2)EOR and storage applications in ROZs.

To achieve real-time monitoring of humidity in various applications,we prepared facile and ultra-thin CoAl layered double hydroxide(CoAl LDH)nanosheets to engineer quartz crystal microbalances(QCM).The characteristics of CoAl LDH were investigated by transmission electron microscopy(TEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray photoelectric spectroscopy(XPS),Brunauer–Emmett–Telle(BET),atomic force microscopy(AFM)and zeta *** to their large specific surface area and abundant hydroxyl groups,CoAl LDH nanosheets exhibit good humidity sensing *** a range of 11.3%and 97.6%relative humidity(RH),the sensor behaved an ultrahigh sensitivity(127.8 Hz/%RH),fast response(9.1 s)and recovery time(3.1 s),low hysteresis(3.1%RH),good linearity(R^(2)=0.9993),stability and ***,the sensor can recover the initial response frequency after being wetted by deionized water,revealing superior self-recovery ability under high *** on in-situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),the adsorption mechanism of CoAl LDH toward water molecules was *** QCM sensor can distinguish different respiratory states of people and wetting degree of fingers,as well as monitor the humidity in vegetable packaging,suggesting excellent properties and a promising application in humidity sensing.

Dopamine(DA)is a neurotransmitter which takes charge of brain activities about memory and self-stimulation behavior in ***,our results suggest that DA could also give maize an“excited state”.The results showed that 1 mmol L–1 DA promoted maize germination by 23.2%significantly,and accelerated the growth rate of roots and shoots by 21.4 and 24.7%,*** we all known,abscisic acid(ABA)is the key hormone involved in seed *** our research,ABA levels in roots and shoots dramatically decreased by 16.45 and 57.57%,*** further investigate how DA reduces the ABA level in budding seed,we studied ABA synthesis and catabolism *** expression of key ABA-synthesis genes,such as ZmNCED1,ZmNCED3 and ZmZEP were down-regulated by ***,the expression levels of ABA8OX1a and ABA8OX1b which are major transcripts of ABA 8´-hydroxylase in ABA catabolism were up-regulated at least 1.5-and 4.6-fold,*** results enriched the functions of animal hormones in plants.

A series of biodegradable hydrogels based on dextran and poly（L-glutamic acid） were fabricated for effective vancomycin loading and release. The preparation of hydrogels was simply achieved by photo cross-linking of methacrylated dextran and poly（L-glutamic acid）-g-hydroxyethyl methacrylate （PGH） in the presence of photoinitiator 12959. The structures of hydrogels were characterized by FTIR and SEM. The swelling and enzymatic degradation behaviors of hydrogels were examined to be dependent on the poly（L-glutamic acid） content in the hydrogels. The higher content of poly（L-glutamic acid） in the gel, the higher swelling ratio and quicker degradation were observed. More interestingly, the hydrogel with higher PGH ratio showed higher vancomycin （VCM） loading content, which might be due to the electrostatic interaction between carboxylate groups in hydrogel and ammonium group of VCM. In vitro drug release from the VCM-loaded hydrogels in aqueous solution exhibited sustained release of VCM up to 72 h, while the in vitro antibacterial test based on the VCM-loaded hydrogel showed an efficient Methicillin-Resistant S. aureus （MRSA） inhibition extending out to 7 days. These results demonstrated that the biodegradable hydrogels which formed by in situ photo-cross linking would be promising as scaffolds or coatings for local antibacterial drug release in tissue engineering.

Amidoxime-functionalized ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibers(UHMWPEF-AO) were used to absorb uranium U(VI) from aqueous *** this paper,we study effects of pH,initial U(VI) concentration,contact time,and temperature on U(VI) adsorption by *** adsorption process agrees well with pseudo-second-order and Langmuir *** exhibits excellent adsorptive performance for U(VI)with a maximum adsorption capacity of 176.12 mg/g at pH4 and 298 *** structures of UHMWPEF-AO and U(VI)-loaded UHMWPEF-AO are characterized by FT-IR and nano-CT.U(VI)-loaded UHMWPEF-AO is sintered after adsorption process to recycle absorbed U(VI).Powders collected after sintering process are examined by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray *** results indicate that UHMWPEF-AO is a promising candidate to remove U(VI) from uranium aqueous solutions.

The discovery of the oldest rocks in the Kuluketage area and its geological implications

The basement rocks in the Kuluketage area are composed predominately of tonalite-trondhjemite-granodiorite rocks, and occured mainly in Xinger and Korla. U-Pb dating of TTG gneiss near Korla yielded a late Neoarchean weighted mean 207Pb/206Pb age of 2.65 Ga, which is the oldest published age for the TTG rocks in the Kuluketage area and thus suggests that Archean terrane in the area was formed in the late Neoarchean. The Korla gneiss is much younger than the TTG rocks in the northern Altyn Tagh, eastern Tarim Craton, indicating that the oldest terrane of the Tarim Craton was exposed probably in the northern Altyn Tagh. Until late Neoarchean, the Tarim continent extends to the Kuluketage area and finally had generated a relatively large uniform Archean basement within the craton. Zircon Hf isotopic analyses of the TTG gneiss give low εHf(t) values (-5 to 1) with Paleoarchean to Mesoarchean two-stage model ages (TDM2) between 3.0 and 3.3 Ga, suggesting that the basement rocks in the northern Tarim Craton were derived dominately from partial melting of Paleoarchean to Mesoarchean juvenile crustal material. The Hf model ages, therefore, indicate that no continent crust older than 3.3 Ga existed in the Kuluketage area.

Cordycepin has the potential to be an alternative to the disputed herbicide ***,current laborious and time-consuming production strategies at low yields based on Cordyceps militaris lead to extremely high cost and restrict its application in the field of *** this study,Komagataella phaffii(*** pastoris)was engineered to biosynthesize cordycepin from methanol,which could be converted from CO_(2).Combined with fermentation optimization,cordycepin content in broth reached as high as 2.68±0.04 g/L within 168 h,around 15.95 mg/(L⋅h)in ***,a deaminated product of cordycepin was identified at neutral or weakly alkaline starting pH during *** analysis found the yeast producing cordycepin was experiencing severe inhibition in methanol assimilation and peroxisome biogenesis,responsible for delayed growth and decreased carbon flux to pentose phosphate pathway(PPP)which led to lack of precursor *** acid interconversion and disruption in RNA metabolism were also due to accumu-lation of *** study provided a unique platform for the manufacture of cordycepin based on the emerging non-conventional yeast and gave practical strategies for further optimization of the microbial cell factory.

We demonstrate experimentally the simultaneous generation and detection of two types of continuous variable nonclassical states from one type-0 phase-matching optical parametric armplification(OPA)and subsequent two ring filter cavities(RFCs).The output field of the OPA includes the baseband wo and sideband modes ω0±nωf subjects to the cavity resonance condition,which are separated by two cascaded *** first RFC resonates with half the pump wavelength wo and the transmitted baseband component is a squeezed *** relcted fields of the first RFC,including the sideband modes ω0±wf,are separated by the second RFC,construct Einstein Podolsky-Rosen entangled *** freedoms,including the filter cavities for sideband separation and relative phases for the measure-ments of these sidebands,are actively *** noise variance of squeezed states is 10.2 dB below the shot noise limit(SNL),the correlation variances of both quadrature amplitude-sum and quadrature phase diference for the entanglement state are 10.0 dB below the corresponding SNL.
