In this paper,we consider a system which has k statistically independent and identically distributed strength components and each component is constructed by a pair of statistically dependent elements with doubly type-II censored scheme.These elements(X1,Y1),(X2,Y2),…,(Xk,Yk)follow a bivariate Kumaraswamy distribution and each element is exposed to a common random stress T which follows a Kumaraswamy distribution.The system is regarded as operating only if at least s out of k(1≤s≤k)strength variables exceed the random stress.The multicomponent reliability of the system is given by Rs,k=P(at least s of the(Z1,…,Zk)exceed T)where Zi=min(Xi,Yi),i=1,…,k.The Bayes estimates of Rs,k have been developed by using the Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods due to the lack of explicit forms.The uniformly minimum variance unbiased and exact Bayes estimates of Rs,k are obtained analytically when the common second shape parameter is known.The asymptotic confidence interval and the highest probability density credible interval are constructed for Rs,k.The reliability estimators are compared by using the estimated risks through Monte Carlo simulations.

BACKGROUND Previous studies have shown that the Shi-pi-xiao-ji(SPXJ)herbal decoction formula is effective in suppressing hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),but the underlying mechanisms are not known.Therefore,this study investigated whether the antitumor effects of the SPXJ formula in treating HCC were mediated by acetyl-coA acetyltransferase 1(ACAT1)-regulated cellular stiffness.Through a series of experiments,we concluded that SPXJ inhibits the progression of HCC by upregulating the expression level of ACAT1,lowering the level of cholesterol in the cell membrane,and altering the cellular stiffness,which provides a new idea for the research of traditional Chinese medicine against HCC.AIM To investigate the anti-tumor effects of the SPXJ formula on the malignant progression of HCC.METHODS HCC cells were cultured in vitro with SPXJ-containing serum prepared by injecting SPXJ formula into wild-type mice.The apoptotic rate and proliferative,invasive,and migratory abilities of control and SPXJ-treated HCC cells were compared.Atomic force microscopy was used to determine the cell surface morphology and the Young’s modulus values of the control and SPXJ-treated HCC cells.Plasma membrane cholesterol levels in HCC cells were detected using the Amplex Red cholesterol detection kit.ACAT1 protein levels were estimated using western blotting.RESULTS Compared with the vehicle group,SPXJ serum considerably reduced proliferation of HCC cells,increased stiffness and apoptosis of HCC cells,inhibited migration and invasion of HCC cells,decreased plasma membrane cholesterol levels,and upregulated ACAT1 protein levels.However,treatment of HCC cells with the water-soluble cholesterol promoted proliferation,migration,and invasion of HCC cells as well as decreased cell stiffness and plasma membrane cholesterol levels,but did not alter the apoptotic rate and ACAT1 protein expression levels compared with the vehicle control.CONCLUSION SPXJ formula inhibited proliferation,invasion,and migration of HCC cells by decreasing plasma membrane chole

Understanding the quantitative responses of anisotropic dynamic properties in organic-rich shale with different kerogen content(KC)is of great significance in hydrocarbon exploration and development.Conducting controlled experiments with a single variable is challenging for natural shales due to their high variations in components,diagenesis conditions,or pore fluid.We employed the hot-pressing technique to construct 11 well-controlled artificial shale with varying KC.These artificial shale samples were successive machined into prismatic shape for ultrasonic measurements along different directions.Observations revealed bedding perpendicular P-wave velocities are more sensitive to the increasing KC than bedding paralleling velocities due to the preferential alignments of kerogen.All elastic stiffnesses except C_(13)are generally decreasing with the increasing KC,the variation of C_(1) and C_(33)on kerogen content are more sensitive than those of C_(44)and C_(66).Apparent dynamic mechanical parameters(v and E)were found to have linear correlation with the true ones from complete anisotropic equations independent of KC,which hold value towards the interpretation of well logs consistently across formations,Anisotropic mechanical parameters(ΔE and brittlenessΔB)tend to decrease with the reducing KC,withΔB showing great sensitivity to KC variations.In the range of low KC(10%)shale,compilation of data from natural organic rich-shales globally verified the similar systematic relationships that can be empirically used to predict the fraction of KC in shales.

To explore the kinetic adsorption under continuous and nonequilibrium states, an integration of continuous measurement and adsorption platform kinetics method was proposed, which was initially called the ICM-AP kinetics method, and a corresponding kinetic adsorption experimental method was developed. Adsorption experiments of europium(Eu) on Ca-bentonite,Na-bentonite, and the D231 cation exchange resin were performed using the ICM-AP kinetics method and continuous measurements. Because the kinetic experimental results observed in this study were different from those of traditional batch adsorption data, pseudo-first-order or pseudo-second-order kinetic models were unsuitable for fitting the experimental data.Hence, a liquid membrane diffusion(LMD) model was developed based on the assumption of simultaneous adsorption/desorption to discuss the mechanism of kinetic adsorption. The kinetic adsorption mechanism was also studied by using XPS.The results indicated that the proposed adsorption model can fit the experimental data more suitably, and the adsorption/desorption behaviors of Eu on bentonite and the D231 resin were simultaneously observed, suggesting that the adsorption kinetics of Eu(Ⅲ) was mainly dominated by hydrated Eu(Ⅲ) ions on the liquid membrane.

Denaturation behavior of inclusions in industrial pure iron by calcium treatment

Only a few Chinese enterprises can produce high-quality industrial pure iron,and studies on the smelting process of industrial pure iron were limited.The inclusions in a melting process were characterized by means of electron microscopy and an automatic inclusion analysis system,and the evolution mechanism of inclusion was studied using thermodynamic calculation to optimize the calcium alloy addition in liquid window.The results show that during the smelting process,inclusions mainly composed of Al_(2)O_(3)and spinel are formed before calcium treatment.After calcium treatment,they continuously react with[Ca],[S]and[Ti],grow up,and are removed during refining and tundish pouring.In the end,there are more small-sized inclusions containing CaS,and the contents of Al_(2)O_(3)and spinel are less.According to thermodynamic calculations,the appropriate calcium treatment liquid window for the molten steel composition is(10-38)×10^(-6).Calcium treatment has changed the main types of inclusions in industrial pure iron from Al_(2)O_(3)to small-sized inclusions containing CaS and effectively reduces the influence of Al_(2)O_(3)inclusions on the quality of industrial pure iron.

Exploring wide voltage window materials is not only an available measure to enhance the energy density of hybrid supercapacitor(HSCs),but also avoids the dynamic mismatch caused by different energy storage mechanisms of two electrodes in assembled symmetrical HSC.However,there are few reports about the wide potential window materials except Bi_(2)O_(3)and VO_(2).Therefore,the MnF_(2)synthesized by solvothermal reaction was served as the electrode for HSC.The MnF_(2)exhibited electrochemical activity in alkaline solution in three-electrode system,especially with a wide potential window from-0.8 to+0.5 V in 2 mol·L^(-1)NaOH.Furthermore,the assembled MnF_(2)//MnF_(2)symmetrical HSC had a potential window of 1.5 V,and it exhibited outstanding long-cycle capability.Meanwhile,when MnF_(2)was taken as the negative and positive respectively,the potential windows of asymmetric devices CoMoO_(4)//MnF_(2)and MnF_(2)//Activated Carbon(AC)could reach 1.3 and 1.45 V,respectively,showing excellent cycle stability.This work shows that MnF_(2)material has great research value in HSC,and provides a new research direction for developing high-performance devices.

The one-bit compressed sensing problem is of fundamental importance in many areas,such as wireless communication,statistics,and so on.However,the optimization of one-bit problem coustrained on the unit sphere lacks an algorithm with rigorous mathematical proof of convergence and validity.In this paper,an iteration algorithm is established based on difference-of-convex algorithm for the one-bit compressed sensing problem constrained on the unit sphere,with iterating formula■,where C is the convex cone generated by the one-bit measurements andη_(1)>η_(2)>1/2.The new algorithm is proved to converge as long as the initial point is on the unit sphere and accords with the measurements,and the convergence to the global minimum point of the l_(1)norm is discussed.
