Effect of MgO-Cr_(2)O_(3) and Mg0-MgAl_(2)0_(4)-based refractories on refractory-steel interface reaction and cleanliness of pipeline steel

The interaction of MgO-MgAl_(2)O_(4)-based and MgO-Cr_(2)O_(3)-based refractories with X70 molten steel was studied by immersion experiments at 1560℃.The effects of immersion time(30 and 60 min)on the contents of total oxygen(TO),Al,Nb,Si,Mn,and Cr as well as the composition,number density,and size distribution of inclusions in the molten steel were *** influence of the penetration and erosion degree of the molten steel to the refractory on the steel-refractory interface layer was *** results show that,at 1560℃,the MgO-MgAl_(2)O_(4)-based refractory can better control the contents of TO and the composition of molten steel compared with the MgO-Cr_(2)O_(3)-based *** TO content is only 16×10^(-4) wt.%in the molten steel after reacted with the Mg0-MgAl_(2)O_(4)-based refractory at the end point of refining,4 accounting for 11.5%of that reacted with the MgO-Cr_(2)O_(3)-based refractory(139×10^(-4) wt.%).The number density of inclusions is only 14 mm^(-2),and the average size ofinclusions is only 1.31μm,with thelargest proportion of inclusions in 1-2μm(70%).The Al_(2)O_(3)-MnS-CaO complex inclusions in the original steel changed to complex inclusions dominated by Cr-Nb-Mn-S-O and ***_(2)O_(3),corresponding to the MgO-Cr_(2)O_(3)-based and MgO-MgAl_(2)O_(4)-based refractories,*** ***_(2)O_(3) layer was formed at the reaction interface between MgO-MgAl_(2)O_(4)-based refractory and molten steel,which is helpful to restrict the erosion of refractories and the pollution of molten *** damage mechanism of the MgO-Cr_(2)O_(3)-based refractory is mainly permeation and chemical reaction,while the damage of the MgO-MgAl_(2)O_(4)-based refractory is mainlyscouring erosion.

Due to the important role ofδphase's quantity and morphology in the mechanical and fatigue properties of Inconel 718 alloy and its components,it is necessary to renew insights into the effect of cold deformation on theδphase precipitation,especially on the morphology ***,the nucleation and growth behavior ofδphase in cold-rolled Inconel 718 alloy during aging were *** results show that the precipitation rate and volume fraction ofδphase increase with increasing the cold rolling reduction from 10%to 50%.The volume fraction ofδphase reaches equilibrium after 5 h,remaining at 5.98%,6.52%,and 6.79%under different rolling reductions(10%,30%,and 50%),*** nucleation ofδphase mainly occurs on different sites(grain boundaries,new twin boundaries and old twin boundaries)under 10%rolling reduction,whileδphase mainly nucleates on the new grain boundaries of static recrystallization due to 50%rolling *** the growth ofδphase undergoes a process of alternate orientation growth from spherical(nucleation)→short rod(longitudinal orientation growth)→short rod(radial orientation growth)→dynamic *** 10%rolling reduction,δphase tends to grow into the matrix,while under 50%rolling reduction,the orientation grows faster and is easily affected by the grain boundary curvature.

In this paper,the cavitating flow over a flexible NACA66 hydrofoil is studied numerically by a modified fluid-structure interaction strategy with particular emphasis on understanding the flow-induced vibration and the cavitating vortical flow *** modified coupling approaches include(1)the hydrodynamic solution obtained by the large eddy simulation(LES)together with a homogenous cavitation model,(2)the structural deformation solved with a cantilever beam equation,(3)fluid-structural interpolation and volume mesh motion based on the radial basis functions and greedy *** the flexible hydrofoil,the dominant flow-induced vibration frequency is twice of the cavity shedding *** cavity shedding frequency is same for the rigid and flexible hydrofoils,demonstrating that the structure vibration is not large enough to affect the cavitation *** predicted cavitating behaviors are strongly three-dimensional,that is,the cavity is(a)of a triangular shape near the hydrofoil tip,(b)of a rectangular shape near the hydrofoil root,and(c)with a strong unsteadiness in the middle of the span,including the attached cavity growth,oscillation and shrinkage,break-off and collapse *** unsteady hydroelastic response would strongly affect the cavitation shedding process with small-scale fragments at the cavity rear ***,three vortex identification methods(i.e.,the vorticity,the Q-criteria and the Ω method)are adopted to investigate the cavitating vortex structures around the flexible *** is indicated that the cavity variation trend is consistent with the vortex *** vortex structures are distributed near the foil trailing edge and in the cavitation region,especially at the cavity-liquid *** the transporting downstream the shedding cavities,the vortices gradually increase in the wake flows.

Herein,we propose an experimentally feasible scheme to show the quantum phase transition of the Jaynes-Cummings(JC)model by modulating the transition frequency of a two-level system in a quantum Rabi model with strong *** tuning the modulation frequency and amplitude,the ratio of the effective coupling strength of the rotating terms to the effective cavity(atomic transition)frequency can enter the deep-strong coupling regime,while the counter-rotating terms can be ***,a deep-strong JC model is *** ratio of the coupling strength to resonance frequencies in the deep-strong JC model is two orders of magnitude larger than the corresponding ratio in the original quantum Rabi *** scheme can be employed in atom-cavity resonance and off-resonance cases,and it is valid over a broad *** nonzero average cavity photons of the ground state indicate the emergence of a quantum phase ***,we demonstrate the dependence of the phase diagram on the atom-cavity detuning and modulation *** the parameters used in our scheme are within the reach of current experimental *** scheme provides a new mechanism for investigating the critical phenomena of finite-sized systems without requiring classical field limits,thereby opening a door for studying fundamental quantum phenomena occurring in the ultrastrong and even deep-strong coupling regimes.

This paper proposes a new global fixed-time sliding mode control strategy for the trajectory tracking control of uncertain robotic ***,a fixed-time disturbance observer(FTDO) is designed to deal with the adverse effects of model uncertainties and external disturbances in the manipulator *** an adaptive scheme is used and the adaptive FTDO(AFTDO) is developed,so that the priori knowledge of the lumped disturbance is not ***,a new non-singular fast terminal sliding mode(NFTSM) surface is designed by using an arctan function,which helps to overcome the singularity problem and enhance the robustness of the *** on the estimation of the lumped disturbance by the AFTDO,a fixed-time non-singular fast terminal sliding mode controller(FTNFTSMC)is developed to guarantee the trajectory tracking errors converge to zero within a fixed *** settling time is independent of the initial state of the *** addition,the stability of the AFTDO and FTNFTSMC is strictly proved by using Lyapunov ***,the fixed-time NFESM(FTNFTSM) algorithm is validated on a 2-link manipulator and comparisons with other existing sliding mode controllers(SMCs) are *** comparative results confirm that the FTNFTSMC has superior control performance.

Ultra-peripheral heavy-ion collisions(UPCs)offer unique opportunities to study processes under strong electromagnetic *** these collisions,highly charged fast-moving ions carry strong electromagnetic fields that can be effectively treated as photon *** exchange of photons can induce photonuclear and two-photon interactions and excite *** excitation of the ions results in Coulomb dissociation with the emission of photons,neutrons,and other ***,the electromagnetic fields generated by the ions can be sufficiently strong to enforce mutual interactions between the two colliding ***,the two colliding ions experience an electromagnetic force that pushes them in opposite directions,causing a back-to-back correlation in the emitted *** a Monte Carlo simulation,we qualitatively demonstrate that the above electromagnetic effect is large enough to be observed in UPCs,which would provide a clear means to study strong electromagnetic fields and their effects.
