Chemical modification of barite for improving the performance of weighting materials for water-based drilling fluids

With increasing drilling depth and large dosage of weighting materials,drilling fluids with high solid content are characterized by poor stability,high viscosity,large water loss,and thick mud cake,easier leading to reservoir damage and wellbore *** this paper,micronized barite(MB)was modified(mMB)by grafting with hydrophilic polymer onto the surface through the free radical polymerization to displace conventional API barite *** suspension stability of water-based drilling fluids(WBDFs)weighted with API barite:mMB=2:1 in 600 g was significantly enhanced compared with that with API barite/WBDFs,exhibiting the static sag factor within 0.54 and the whole stability index of *** viscosity and yield point reached the minimum,with a reduction of more than 40%compared with API barite only at the same *** multi-stage filling and dense accumulation of weighting materials and clays,filtration loss was decreased,mud cake quality was improved,and simultaneously it had great reservoir protection performance,and the permeability recovery rate reached 87%.In addition,it also effectively improved the lubricity of *** sticking coefficient of mud cake was reduced by 53.4%,and the friction coefficient was ***,mMB can serve as a versatile additive to control the density,rheology,filtration,and stability of WBDFs weighted with API barite,thus regulating comprehensive performance and achieving reservoir protection *** work opened up a new path for the productive drilling of extremely deep and intricate wells by providing an efficient method for managing the performance of high-density WBDFs.

Microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti/Al/Ti clad plates prepared via powder-in-tube method

The Ti/Al/Ti clad plates exhibit a broad spectrum of potential ***,the conventional techniques of hot-pressing composite and explosive composite are intricate and environmentally hazardous.A novel method was introduced for preparing clad plates,namely,the powder-in-tube *** method involves a combination of cold rolling,annealing at a temperature of 550℃,and double *** morphology of the intermetallic compound layer was analyzed through the utilization of interface stripping test,tensile test,and microscopic *** interface morphology,interface bonding properties,tensile fracture structures,and properties of plates under the first and second rolling were compared,along with the effects of intermetallic compounds on the interface *** results indicate that the powder-in-tube method,when annealed at 550℃,can produce a composite plate featuring a complete and uniform Ti/Al *** obtained plate exhibits a peeling strength of 21.5 N/mm,tensile strength of 424 MPa,and elongation of 11.5%.Furthermore,a systematic analysis was conducted to determine the causes of performance degra-dation observed during annealing at temperatures of 600 and 650℃.

BACKGROUND The recently introduced ultrasonic flow ratio(UFR),is a novel fast computational method to derive fractional flow reserve(FFR)from intravascular ultrasound(IVUS)*** the present study,we evaluate the diagnostic performance of UFR in patients with intermediate left main(LM)*** This is a prospective,single center study enrolling consecutive patients with presence of intermediated LM lesions(diameter stenosis of 30%-80%by visual estimation)underwent IVUS and FFR *** independent core laboratory assessed offline UFR and IVUS-derived minimal lumen area(MLA)in a blinded *** Both UFR and FFR were successfully achieved in 41 LM patients(mean age,62.0±9.9 years,46.3%diabetes).An acceptable correlation between UFR and FFR was identified(r=0.688,P50%(AUC=0.66,P<0.001)and numerically higher than IVUS-derived MLA(AUC=0.82;P=0.09).Patient level diagnostic accuracy,sensitivity and specificity for UFR to identify FFR≤0.80 was 82.9%(95%CI:70.2-95.7),93.1%(95%CI:82.2-100.0),58.3%(95%CI:26.3-90.4),*** In patients with intermediate LM diseases,UFR was proved to be associated with acceptable correlation and high accuracy with pressure wire-based FFR as standard *** present study supports the use of UFR for functional evaluation of intermediate LM stenosis.

Evapotranspiration(ET)is a crucial variable in the terrestrial water,carbon,and energy *** present,a large number of multi source ET products *** to sparse observations,however,great challenges exist in the evaluation and integration of ET products in remote and complex areas such as the Tibetan Plateau(TP).In this paper,the applicability of the multiple collocation(MC)method over the TP is evaluated for the first time,and the uncertainty of multisource ET products(based on reanalysis,remote sensing,and land surface models)is further analyzed,which provides a theoretical basis for ET data *** results show that 1)ET uncertainties quantified via the MC method are lower in RS-based ET products(5.95 vs.7.06 mm month^(-1))than in LSM ET products(10.22 vs.17.97 mm month^(-1))and reanalysis ET estimates(7.27 vs.12.26 mm month-1).2)A multisource evapotranspiration(MET)dataset is generated at a monthly temporal scale with a spatial resolution of 0.25°across the TP during *** has better performance than any individual product.3)Based on the fusion product,the total ET amount over the TP and its patterns of spatiotemporal variability are clearly *** annual total ET over the entire TP is approximately 380.60 ***,an increasing trend of 1.59±0.85 mm yr^(-1)over the TP is shown during *** study provides a basis for future studies on water and energy cycles and water resource management over the TP and surrounding regions.

Objective:In this study,we screened for therapeutic targets of the xian-Lian-Jie-Du decoction(XLJDD)for colorectal cancer(CRC)and explored the underlying mechanisms using network pharmacology ***:Genes associated with CRC were collected from the Gene Cards *** names of the active compounds of XLJDD were used as keywords in the“chemical name”in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology(TCMSP)database to search the *** protein-protein interaction(PPI)network was constructed using Cytoscape *** Ontology functional enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathway enrichment analyses were performed to identify key target ***:A total of 234 XLJDD-related targets and 250 cross-targets between XLJDD and CRC were collected based on the TCMSP and HIT 2.0 databases.A PPI network constructed based on the STRING database revealed interactions for all 250 *** network results revealed TP53,MYC,CCND1,AKT1,CASP3,and STAT3 as core potential *** pathway analysis of the 250 potential XLJDD targets for CRC in the Metascape database was performed using RStudio *** top 12 gene ratio aggregated analysis results were visualized in bubble *** interleukin(IL)-17 signaling pathway had the highest correlation with the tumor necrosis factor(TNF)signaling ***:XLJDD may be effective in ameliorating CRC by controlling inflammatory factors related to the IL-17 and TNF pathways and targeting proto-oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes,including MYC,CCND1,CTNNB1,and TP53.

A dedicated weak current measurement system was designed to measure the weak currents generated by the neutron ionization *** system incorporates a second-order low-pass filter circuit and the Kalman filtering algorithm to effectively filter out noise and minimize interference in the measurement *** conducted under normal temperature conditions has demonstrated the system's high precision ***,it was observed that temperature variations can affect the measurement *** were collected across temperatures ranging from -20 to 70℃,and a temperature correction model was established through linear regression fitting to address this *** feasibility of the temperature correction model was confirmed at temperatures of -5 and 40℃,where relative errors remained below 0.1% after applying the temperature *** research indicates that the designed measurement system exhibits excellent temperature adaptability and high precision,making it particularly suitable for measuring weak currents.

The high energy cosmic-radiation detection(HERD)facility is planned to launch in 2027 and scheduled to be installed on the China Space *** serves as a dark matter particle detector,a cosmic ray instrument,and an observatory for high-energy gamma rays.A transition radiation detector placed on one of its lateral sides serves dual purpose,(ⅰ)calibrating HERD's electromagnetic calorimeter in the TeV energy range,and(ⅱ)serving as an independent detector for high-energy gamma *** this paper,the prototype readout electronics design of the transition radiation detector is demonstrated,which aims to accurately measure the charge of the anodes using the SAMPA application specific integrated circuit *** electronic performance of the prototype system is evaluated in terms of noise,linearity,and *** the presented design,each electronic channel can achieve a dynamic range of 0–100 fC,the RMS noise level not exceeding 0.15 fC,and the integral nonlinearity was<0.2%.To further verify the readout electronic performance,a joint test with the detector was carried out,and the results show that the prototype system can satisfy the requirements of the detector's scientific goals.

Main controlling factor and mechanism of gas-in-place content of the Lower Cambrian shale from different sedimentary facies in the western Hubei area, South China

The Lower Cambrian shale gas in the western Hubei area,South China has a great resource prospect,but the gas-in-place(GIP)content in different sedimentary facies varies widely,and the relevant mechanism has been not well *** the present study,two sets of the Lower Cambrian shale samples from the Wells YD4 and YD5 in the western Hubei area,representing the deep-water shelf facies and shallowwater platform facies,respectively,were investigated on the differences of pore types,pore structure and methane adsorption capacity between them,and the main controlling factor and mechanism of their methane adsorption capacities and GIP contents were *** results show that the organic matter(OM)pores in the YD4 shale samples are dominant,while the inorganic mineral(IM)pores in the YD5 shale samples are primary,with underdeveloped OM *** pore specific surface area(SSA)and pore volume(PV)of the YD4 shale samples are mainly from micropores and mesopores,respectively,while those of the YD5 shale samples are mainly from micropores and macropores,*** methane adsorption capacity of the YD4 shale samples is significantly higher than that of the YD5 shale samples,with a maximum absolute adsorption capacity of 3.13 cm^(3)/g and 1.31 cm^(3)/g in average,*** with the shallow-water platform shale,the deep-water shelf shale has a higher TOC content,a better kerogen type and more developed OM pores,which is the main mechanism for its higher adsorption *** GIP content models based on two samples with a similar TOC content selected respectively from the Wells YD4 and YD5 further indicate that the GIP content of the deep-water shelf shale is mainly 34 m^(3)/t within a depth range of 1000—4000 m,with shale gas exploration and development potential,while the shallow-water platform shale has normally a GIP content of<1 m^(3)/t,with little shale gas *** the geological and geochemical conditions of shale gas formation a

Vanadium(V) Complexes Containing Unsymmetrical N-Heterocyclic Carbene Ligands: Highly Efficient Synthesis and Catalytic Behavior towards Ethylene/Propylene Copolymerization

The highly efficient method has been developed for the synthesis of NHC·VOCl_(3) containing symmetrical or unsymmetrical Nheterocyclic carbene(NHC) ligands by the transmetallation reaction of NHC·AgCl with VOCl_(3).The total isolated yield of VOCl_(3)[1,3-(2,4,6-Me_(3)C_(6)H_(2))_(2)(NCH=)_(2)C:](V4') reached 86% by transmetallation reaction,which is much higher than that(48%) by direct coordination *** methodology has also been used to synthesize the novel vanadium complexes containing unsymmetrical NHC ligands of VOCl_(3)[PhCH_(2)NCH=CHNR)C:](V5',R=2,4,6-Me_(3)C_(6)H_(2);V6',R=2,4-Me_(2)-6-Ph-C_(6)H_(2);V7',R=2,6-^(i)Pr_(2)-C_(6)H_(3)) with high yield,which could not be obtained by direct coordination *** catalytic activity and copolymerization ability would be improved by introducing unsymmetrical NHC ligands due to their less steric bulky *** vanadium complex V5' containing unsymmetrical NHC ligand exhibits higher catalytic activity(3.7×10^(5)g_(copolymer)·mol^(-1) of V·h^(-1)) than that of V4' containing symmetrical NHC ***,the higher propylene incorporation ratio(45.6 mol%) in the copolymers of ethylene with propylene could be obtained by using V5' than that(39.9%) by using V4'.The results would provide a highly efficient strategy for the synthesis of early transition metal complexes containing versitile NHC ligands,affording the catalyst with both high catalytic activity and copolymerization ability for the synthesis of high performance polyolefin elastomers.
