Polyphenols are the main active components of the anti-inflammatory compounds in dandelion,and chlorogenic acid(CGA)is one of the primary ***,the molecular mechanism underlying the transcriptional regulation of CGA biosynthesis remains ***-CoA:quinate hydroxycinnamoyl transferase(HQT2)is the last rate-limiting enzyme in chlorogenic acid biosynthesis in Taraxacum ***,using the TaHQT2 gene promoter as a probe,a yeast one-hybrid library was performed,and a basic helix-loop-helix(bHLH)transcription factor,TabHLH1,was identified that shared substantial homology with Gynura bicolor DC *** TabHLH1 transcript was highly induced by salt stress,and the TabHLH1 protein was localized in the *** and luteolin concentrations in TabHLH1-overexpression transgenic lines were significantly higher than those in the wild type,while CGA and luteolin concentrations in TabHLH1-RNA interference(RNAi)transgenic lines were significantly *** real-time polymerase chain reaction demonstrated that overexpression and RNAi of TabHLH1 in *** significantly affected CGA and luteolin concentrations by upregulating or downregulating CGA and luteolin biosynthesis pathway genes,especially TaHQT2,4-coumarate-CoA ligase(Ta4CL),chalcone isomerase(TaCHI),and flavonoid-3′-hydroxylase(TaF3′H).Dual-luciferase,yeast one-hybrid,and electrophoretic mobility shift assays indicated that TabHLH1 directly bound to the bHLH-binding motifs of proTaHQT2 and *** study suggests that TabHLH1 participates in the regulatory network of CGA and luteolin biosynthesis in *** and might be useful for metabolic engineering to promote plant polyphenol biosynthesis.

Here we present a combined DFF and molecular dynamics study of uranyl （U（VI）） interaction mecha- nisms with the calcite （104） surface in aqueous solution. The roles of three anion ligands （CO2 , HCO3, OH ） and solvation effect in U（VI） interaction with calcite have been evaluated. According to our calculations, water adsorbed on the calcite （104） surface prefers to exist in molecular state rather than dis- sociative state. Energy analysis indicate that the positively charged uranyl species prefers to form surface complexes on the surface, while neutral uranyl species may bind with the surface via both surface complexing and ion exchange reactions of U（VI） → Ca（II）. In contrast, the negatively charged uranyl species prefer to interact with the surface via ion exchange reactions of U（VI）→ Ca（II）, and the one with UO2（CO3）2（H2O）^2- as the reactant becomes the most favorable one in energy. We also found that uranyl adsorption increases the hydrophilicability of the （104） surface to different extents, where the UO2（CO3）3Ca2 species contributes to the largest degree of energy changes （ 53 kcal/mol）. Our calcula- tions proved that the （104） surface also has the ability to immobilize U（VI） via either surface complexing or ion exchange mechanisms under different pH values.

The stabilization of switched linear systems with constrained inputs （SLSCI） is considered. The authors design admissible linear state feedbacks and the switching rule which has a minimal dwell time （MDT） to stabilized the system. First, for each subsystem with constrained inputs, a stabilizing linear state feedback and an invariant set of the closed-loop system are simultaneously constructed, such that the input constraints are satisfied if and only if the closed-loop system＇s states lie inside this set. Then, by constructing a quadratic Lyapunov function for each closed-loop subsystem, an MDT is deduced and an MDT-based switching strategy is presented to ensure the stability of the switched system.

It remains challenging to develop methods that can precisely control the self-assembling kinetics and thermodynamics of peptide hydrogelators to achieve hydrogels with optimal *** we report the hydrogelation of peptide hydrogelators by an enzymatically induced pH switch,which involves the combination of glucose oxidase and catalase with D-glucose as the substrate,in which both the gelation kinetics and thermodynamics can be controlled by the concentrations of *** novel hydrogelation method could result in hydrogels with higher mechanical stability and lower hydrogelation *** further illustrate the application of this hydrogelation method to differentiate different D-glucose levels.

In some situations,the failure time of interest is defined as the gap time between two related events and the observations on both event times can suffer either right or interval *** data are usually referred to as doubly censored data and frequently encountered in many clinical and observational ***,there may also exist a cured subgroup in the whole population,which means that not every individual under study will experience the failure time of interest *** this paper,we consider regression analysis of doubly censored data with a cured subgroup under a wide class of flexible transformation cure ***,we consider marginal likelihood estimation and develop a two-step approach by combining the multiple imputation and a new expectation-maximization(EM)algorithm for its *** resulting estimators are shown to be consistent and asymptotically *** finite sample performance of the proposed method is investigated through simulation *** proposed method is also applied to a real dataset arising from an AIDS cohort study for illustration.

The seasonal concentration changes of selected heavy metal Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Pb, and Zn in five tissues of marine gastropod Onchidium struma were studied in the Chongming Island, the Yangtze Estuary in April 2007, July 2006, September 2006, and November 2006, respectively. The results demonstrated that the bioconcentration factor of Cu （biomass/water） in all selected tissues was about 104 magnitudes, Fe and Cd were 103, Zn was 102, and Mn, Pb, and Cr were 101. Hepatopancreas was proven to be the dominant storage tissue of Cr, Cu, Mn, and Zn, whereas Fe and Pb were mainly stored in muscle and digenetic gland, and Cd was stored in vitelline gland and albumen gland. Additionally, it was found that Cu, Fe, Mn, and Zn were concentrated significantly by O. struma （whole-body） in summer or autumn, and Cd, Cr, and Pb increased slightly in spring and winter. Furthermore, the bioconcentration of Cr was nearly 2-fold higher and Zn was 1.6-fold higher in the water compared with the Water Quality Standard for Fisheries. With view of excessive amount of Pb, Cd, and Cu according to seafood standard, the consumption of O. struma might have the risk of health hazard.

The relatively high stress probably leads to generation of a fractured or even instable area around a working coalface. Also, the generated weak area often evolves into an easy-infiltrating field of water/gas to greatly increase probability of accident occurrence. To reveal the distribution of high stress around working faces, we put forward the mode-I-crack compression model. In this model, the goaf following a working face is regarded as a mode-I crack in an infinite plate, and the self-gravity of overlaying strata is transformed into an uniform pressure applied normal to the upper edge of the model crack. Solving this problem is based on the Westergaard complex stress function. For comparison, the software RFPA-2D is also employed to simulate the same mining problem, and furthermore extendedly to calculate the stress interference induced by the simultaneous advances of two different working faces. The results show that, the area close to a working face or the goaf tail has the maximum stress, and the stress is distributed directly proportional to the square root of the advance and inversely proportional to the square root of the distance to the working face. The simultaneous advances of two neighboring working faces in different horizontals can lead to extremely high resultant stress in an interference area.

This paper proposes a method to recognize human-object interactions by modeling context between human actions and interacted ***-object interaction recognition is a challenging task due to severe occlusion between human and objects during the interacting *** that human actions and interacted objects provide strong context information,*** actions are usually related to some specific objects,the accuracy of recognition is significantly improved for both of *** the proposed method,both global and local temporal features from skeleton sequences are extracted to model human *** the meantime,kernel features are utilized to describe interacted ***,all possible solutions from actions and objects are optimized by modeling the context between *** results of experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.
