Pile foundation of high-speed railway undergoing repeated groundwater reductions

Long-pile groups of railway foundation undergo excessive settlements after groundwater reductions,which may exceed the settlement limit and threaten the safe operation of high-speed ***,the effect of groundwater reduction on a long-pile group(greater than 20 m in length)has not been fully understood,especially in respect of repeated *** this study,a centrifuge test was conducted to investigate the responses of pile groups in silty soils subjected to repeated falls in the water *** behavior of the piles was discussed based both on the test and on 3D numerical *** the derived coef-ficientβfor the axial force evaluation of the pile,the effect of lowering the water table on the railway pile foundation could be *** of the tests and numerical analyses indicated that the water table decline significantly increased the down-drag and axial force of the pile,causing significant settlement.A longer pile presented a larger axial force at the neutral ***,the incremental percentage of the axial force decreased with increasing pile length with the same water table *** of group effect,the displacement of soil next to the center pile was smaller than that near the corner piles and showed a similar trend as the axial force of the *** the water table fell,the static load ratio affecting the progress of pile settlement increased dis-advantageously,possibly inducing excessive pile settlement.A design method for railway pile foundations taking account of lowering groundwater was proposed with an example application,which provided a reference for similar projects.

One-step thermal oxidation synthesis of large-area Mn_(3)O_(4)nanoflakes at low temperature in air atmosphere

Single-crystalline Mn_(3)O_(4)nanoflakes were grown on manganese sheets by one-step thermal oxidation process at 360-500℃in ambient *** samples were characterized by scanning electron microscope(SEM),x-ray diffraction(xRD),Raman and transmission electron microscope(TEM).The nanoflakes with a size of 15-20 nm in thickness,~60 nm in width,and~210 nm in length are obtained at 360℃for 24 h.A surface diffusion mechanism is proposed to explain the growth of manganese oxide nanostructures via thermal oxidation,which includes two steps:manganese oxide(MnO/Mn_(3)O_(4))layers form firstly,and then Mn_(3)O_(4)nanostructures grow above the upper metal oxide layer to form multi-layered structures,MnO/Mn_(3)O_(4)/Mn_(3)O_(4)-*** nucleation and growth of Mn_(3)O_(4)nanostructures are related to the surface energy and different growth rates along different crystal directions,which are controlled by the diffusion of the metal and gas molecule.

Crystal Boundary of Chemical Vapor Deposited Diamond Films

CVD diamond films were synthesized by the chemical vapor deposition *** crystal boundary was investigated using transmission electron microscopy and scan electron *** second grains facilitate the more compact film *** micro-holes are seen among diamond grains in the films but there are micro-holes in the interface of film/*** second grain and the primary grain would keep the twin relationship of<110/70.5°.A lot of micro-twins are observed in fivefold twin grains but there is a zone of non twins which is like a strip along the fivefold twin *** microtwins keep the twin relationship of<110/70.5° with the fivefold twin *** width and length of microtwins are about 3 nm and 32 nm,respectively.

Structure and spectral measurements of a new rubidium europium polyphosphate

A new rubidium europium polyphosphate, RbEu(PO3)4, was synthesized by the high-temperature solution reaction and studied by single-crystal x-ray diffraction (xRD) technique. RbEu(PO3)4 belongs to the monoclinic space group P21/n (Z=4) and characterizes a three-dimensional framework made up from double PO4 spiral chains, RbO11, and EuO8 polyhedra. The absorption spectrum indicates that the compound has no absorption above 320nm with insulator characteristic. In addition, the infrared spectroscopy was carried out.

The changing trends of internal migration and urbanization in China: new evidence from the seventh National Population Census

This paper draws on information provided by China’s 2020 National Population Cen-sus and several previous censuses to review briefly the changing trends of internal migration and urbanization in *** examination of data from the recent census reveals several characteristics of migration:population movements are more active than ever,there has been dramatic growth in urban-to-urban migration,and there has been explosive growth in the number of mismatches between people’s place of residence and place of household *** data also reveals the impact migration is having on urban population trends:China has entered a more mature stage of urbanization;movement of the floating population becomes the leading fac-tor in urban population *** a policy point of view,this paper also sug-gests that China’s urbanization strategy should consider the diversity of migrants;and promoting the effective supply of public service based on place of residence is urgently needed.

Dear Editor,In 2009,an outbreak of an unknown infectious disease occurred in rural areas of Hubei Province,China,affecting 17 persons,five of whom *** was initially suspected to be human anaplasmosis(Zhang et al.2008).However,the laboratory evidence was insufficient to verify the diagnosis in most *** March 2011,a new virus was isolated from a patient’s blood and named severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome(SFTS)virus(SFTSV)in the Bunyaviridae(Yu et al.2011).The main signs and symptoms of SFTS are fever,thrombocytopenia,leukopenia,and a decreased platelet count(Yu et al.2011;McMullan et al.2012;Zhang et al.2017;Hu et al.2018).

The quantum yield formula for uniform-doping GaAIAs/GaAs transmission-mode photocathodes is revised by taking into account the light absorption in the window *** using the revised quantum yield formula,the domestic and ITT's experimental quantum yield curves are fitted and the fitted curves match well with the experimental *** addition,the fit results show that the integral sensitivity and quantum yield of domestic image intensifier tube has achieved 2130μA/lm and 45%,nearly reaching ITT's third generation level in 2002,whereas the discrepancy in cathode performance is mainly embodied in the electron diffusion length and back interface recombination velocity.

Bifurcation control of solid angle car-following model through a time-delay feedback method

In order to alleviate unstable factor-caused bifurcation and reduce oscillations in traffic flow,a feedback control with consideration of time delay is designed for the solid angle model(SAM).The stability and bifurcation condition of the new SAM is derived through linear analysis and bifurcation analysis,and then accurate range of stable region is *** order to explore the mechanism of the influence of multiple parameter combinations on the stability of controlled systems,a definite integral stabilization method is provided to determine the stable interval of time delay and feedback *** simulations are explored to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed model,which also demonstrate that feedback gain and delay are two key factors to alleviate traffic congestion in the SAM.

Bacterial cell division is strictly regulated in the formation of equal daughter cells. This process is governed by a series of spatial and temporal regulators, and several new factors of interest to the field have recently been identified. Here, we report the requirement of gluconate 5-dehydrogenase （Ga5DH） in cell division of the zoonotic pathogen Strepto- coccus suis. GaSDH catalyzes the reversible reduction of 5-ketogluconate to D-gluconate and was localized to the site of cell division. The deletion of Ga5DH in S. suis resulted in a plump morphology with aberrant septa joining the progeny. A significant increase was also observed in cell length. These defects were determined to be the conse- quence of Ga5DH deprivation in S. suis causing FtsZ delo- calization. In addition, the interaction of FtsZ with Ga5DH in vitro was confirmed by protein interaction assays. These results indicate that GaSDH may function to prevent the formation of ectopic Z rings during S. suis cell division.
