Effectiveness of biologics for endoscopic healing in patients with isolated proximal small bowel Crohn’s disease

The irradiation behavior of graphite is essential for its applications in the nuclear ***,the behavioral differences of graphite remain obscure because of the very limited comprehension of its microstructural *** typical structure,the quinoline-insoluble(QI)particle,was investigated using IG-110 and NBG-18 *** irradiation,the QI particles on the polished surface were proven to become hillocks,which were easily identifiable via scanning electron microscopy(SEM).Thus,a method that combined ion irradiation and SEM characterization was proposed to study the distribution and concentration of QI particles in *** irradiation,the QI particles were found to evolve into densified spheres,which were weakly bonded with the surrounding graphite structures,thereby indicating that the densification of QI particles did not evidently contribute to graphite dimensional shrinkage.A much higher concentration of QI particles in NBG-18 than IG-110,which was suggested to be responsible for the smaller maximum dimensional shrinkage of former over the latter during irradiation,was characterized.

Structures and Characteristics of the Windy Atmospheric Boundary Layer in the South China Sea Region during Cold Surges

An observational analysis of the structures and characteristics of a windy atmospheric boundary layer during a cold air outbreak in the South China Sea region is reported in this paper. It is found that the main structures and characteristics are the same as during strong wind episodes with cold air outbreaks on land. The high frequency turbulent fluctuations （period 〈 1 min） are nearly random and isotropic with weak coherency, but the gusty wind disturbances （1 rain〈period 〈 10 min） are anisotropic with rather strong coherency. However, in the windy atmospheric boundary layer at sea, compared with that over land, there are some pronounced differences：（1） the average horizontal speed is almost independent of height, and the vertical velocity is positive in the lower marine atmospheric boundary layer; （2） the vertical flux of horizontal momentum is nearly independent of height in the low layer indicating the existence of a constant flux layer, unlike during strong wind over the land surface; （3） the kinetic energy and friction velocity of turbulent fluctuations are larger than those of gusty disturbances; （4） due to the independence of horizontal speed to height, the horizontal speed itself （not its vertical gradient used over the land surface） can be used as the key parameter to parameterize the turbulent and gusty characteristics with high accuracy.

Estimating the Correlated Observation-Error Characteristics of the Chinese FengYun Microwave Temperature Sounder and Microwave Humidity Sounder

In operational data assimilation systems, observation-error covariance matrices are commonly assumed to be ***, inter-channel and spatial observation-error correlations are inevitable for satellite radiances. The observation errors of the Microwave Temperature Sounder(MWTS) and Microwave Humidity Sounder(MWHS) onboard the FengYun-3A(FY-3A) and FY-3B satellites are empirically assigned and considered to be uncorrelated when they are assimilated into the WRF model's Community Variational Data Assimilation System(WRFDA). To assimilate MWTS and MWHS measurements optimally, a good characterization of their observation errors is necessary. In this study, background and analysis residuals were used to diagnose the correlated observation-error characteristics of the MWTS and MWHS. It was found that the error standard deviations of the MWTS and MWHS were less than the values used in the WRFDA. MWTS had small inter-channel errors, while MWHS had significant inter-channel errors. The horizontal correlation length scales of MWTS and MWHS were about 120 and 60 km, respectively. A comparison between the diagnosis for instruments onboard the two satellites showed that the observation-error characteristics of the MWTS or MWHS were different when they were onboard different satellites. In addition, it was found that the error statistics were dependent on latitude and scan *** forecast experiments showed that using a modified thinning scheme based on diagnosed statistics can improve forecast accuracy.

A joint optimization algorithm for focused energy delivery in precision electronic warfare

Focused energy delivery(FED) is a technique that can precisely bring energy to the specific region,which arouses wide attention in precision electronic warfare(PREW).This paper first proposes a joint optimization model with respect to the locations of the array and the transmitted signals to improve the performance of *** the problem is nonconvex and NP-hard,particle swarm optimization(PSO) is adopted to solve the locations of the array,while designing the transmitted signals under a feasible array is considered as a unimodular quadratic program(UQP) subproblem to calculate the fitness criterion of *** the PSO-UQP framework established,two methods are presented for the UQP subproblem,which are more efficient and more accurate respectively than previous ***,a threshold value is set in the framework to determine which method to adopt to take full advantages of the methods ***,we obtain the maximum localization error that FED can tolerate,which is significant for implementing FED in *** results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the joint optimization algorithm,and the correctness of the maximum localization error derived.

Achieving efficient utilization of limonitic nickel laterite and CO_(2) emission reduction through multi-force field sintering process

Strengthening limonitic nickel laterite sintering and reducing CO_(2) emission were performed by the application of multiforce fields including external thermodynamic and pressure *** pot tests of limonitic nickel laterite were carried out,and the relevant industrial production was *** chemistry and mineralogy of product sinter and the thermodynamic and kinetic conditions during sintering were analyzed to reveal the relevant *** results indicate that sintering performance of limonitic nickel laterite in the new sintering process with multi-force fields is significantly improved with tumble index and productivity increased by 24.11%and 18.56%,respectively,and solid fuel rate reduced by 23.21%,compared with those in traditional sintering *** this case,greenhouse and pollutant gas emissions are greatly reduced,and metallurgical performances of product sinter are *** industrial production has been successfully conducted,indicating a bright application *** analysis shows that the great improvement of thermodynamic and kinetic conditions during sintering and the densification of loose sinter can be achieved via the application of multi-force *** microstructure is transformed from large thin-wall pores to small thin-wall pores or medium thick-wall pores with the dramatic reduction of sinter porosity and more formation of silico-ferrite of calcium and alumina(SFCA).Meanwhile,the homogenization of mineral compositions is achieved,and much denser interlocking texture between hercynite and SFCA is *** application of multi-force fields contributes to the substantial improvement of sintering performance of limonitic nickel laterite and CO_(2) emission reduction.

A compositional model for CO_(2) ooding including CO_(2) equilibria between water and oil using the Peng–Robinson equation of state with the Wong–Sandler mixing rule

This paper presents a three-dimensional, three-phase compositional model considering CO2 phase equilibrium between water and oil. In this model, CO2 is mutually soluble in aqueous and hydrocarbon phases, while other components, except water,exist in hydrocarbon phase. The Peng–Robinson(PR) equation of state and the Wong–Sandler mixing rule with non-random two-liquid parameters are used to calculate CO2 fugacity in the aqueous phase. One-dimensional and three-dimensional CO2 flooding examples show that a significant amount of injected CO2 is dissolved in water. Our simulation shows 7% of injected CO2 can be dissolved in the aqueous phase, which delays oil recovery by 4%. The gas rate predicted by the model is smaller than the conventional model as long as water is undersaturated by CO2, which can be considered as 'lost' in the aqueous phase. The model also predicts that the delayed oil can be recovered after the gas breakthrough, indicating that delayed oil is hard to recover in field applications. A three-dimensional example reveals that a highly stratified reservoir causes uneven displacement and serious CO2 breakthrough. If mobility control measures like water alternating gas are undertaken, the solubility e ects will be more pronounced than this example.
