Analysis of temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of ammonium chloride smoke particles in confined spaces

In response to the demand for short-range detection of anti-smoke environment interference by laser fuzes,this study proposes a smoke environment simulation of non-uniform continuous point source diffusion and investigates an experimental laboratory smoke environment using an ammonium chloride smoke agent.The particle size distribution,composition,and mass flow distribution of the smoke were studied.Based on a discrete phase model and a kεturbulence model,a numerical simulation was developed to model the smoke generation and diffusion processes of the smoke agent in a confined space.The temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of the smoke mass concentration,velocity,and temperature in the space after smoke generation were analyzed,and the motion law governing the smoke diffusion throughout the entire space was summarized.Combined with the experimental verification of the smoke environment laboratory,the results showed that the smoke plume changed from fan-shaped to umbrella-shaped during smoke generation,and then continued to spread around.Meanwhile,the mass concentration of smoke in the space decreased from the middle outward;the changes in temperature and velocity were small and stable.In the diffusion stage(after 900 s),the mass concentration of smoke above 0.8 m was relatively uniform across an area of smoke that was 12 m thick.The concentration decreased over time,following a consistent decreasing trend,and the attenuation was negligible in a very short time.Therefore,this system was suitable for conducting experimental research on laser fuzes in a smoke environment.Owing to the stability of the equipment and facilities,the setup could reproduce the same experimental smoke environment by artificially controlling the smoke emission of the smoke agent.Overall,this work provides a theoretical reference for subsequent research efforts regarding the construction of uniform smoke environments and evaluating laser transmission characteristics in smoky environments.

Controllable chemical redox reactions to couple microbial degradation for organic contaminated sites remediation:A review

Global environmental concern over organic contaminated sites has been progressively conspicuous during the process of urbanization and industrial restructuring.While traditional physical or chemical remediation technologies may significantly destroy the soil structure and function,coupling moderate chemical degradation with microbial remediation becomes a potential way for the green,economic,and efficient remediation of contaminated sites.Hence,this work systematically elucidates why and how to couple chemical technology with microbial remediation,mainly focused on the controllable redox reactions of organic contaminants.The rational design of materials structure,selective generation of reactive oxygen species,and estimation of degradation pathway are described for chemical oxidation.Meanwhile,current progress on efficient and selective reductions of organic contaminants(i.e.,dechlorination,defluorination,-NO_(2) reduction)is introduced.Combined with the microbial remediation of contaminated sites,several consideration factors of how to couple chemical and microbial remediation are proposed based on both fundamental and practical points of view.This review will advance the understanding and development of chemical-microbial coupled remediation for organic contaminated sites.

Tendon injuries often lead to joint dysfunction due to the limited self-regeneration capacity of tendons.Repairing tendons is a major challenge for surgeons and imposes a signif-icant financial burden on society.Therefore,there is an urgent need to develop effective stra-tegies for repairing injured tendons.Tendon tissue engineering using hydrogels has emerged as a promising approach that has attracted considerable interest.Hydrogels possess excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability,enabling them to create an extracellular matrix-like growth environment for cells.They can also serve as a carrier for cells or other substances to accelerate tendon repair.In the past decade,numerous studies have made significant prog-ress in the preparation of hydrogel scaffolds for tendon healing.This review aims to provide an overview of recent research on the materials of hydrogel-based scaffolds used for tendon tis-sue engineering and discusses the delivery systems based on them.

Design and simulation investigations on charge transport layers‑free in lead‑free three absorber layer all‑perovskite solar cells

The multiple absorber layer perovskite solar cells(PSCs)with charge transport layers-free(CTLs-free)have drawn widespread research interest due to their simplified architecture and promising photoelectric characteristics.Under the circumstances,the novel design of CTLs-free inversion PSCs with stable and nontoxic three absorber layers(triple Cs_(3)Bi_(2)I_(9),single MASnI_(3),double Cs_(2)TiBr_(6))as optical-harvester has been numerically simulated by utilizing wxAMPS simulation software and achieved high power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 14.8834%.This is owing to the innovative architecture of PSCs favors efficient transport and extraction of more holes and the slender band gap MASnI_(3)extends the absorption spectrum to the near-infrared periphery compared with the two absorber layers architecture of PSCs.Moreover,the performance of the device with p-type-Cs_(3)Bi_(2)I_(9)/p-type-MASnI_(3)/n-type-Cs_(2)TiBr_(6)architecture is superior to the one with the p-type-Cs_(3)Bi_(2)I_(9)/ntype-MASnI_(3)/n-type-Cs_(2)TiBr_(6)architecture due to less carrier recombination and higher carrier life time inside the absorber layers.The simulation results reveal that Cs_(2)TiF_(6)double perovskite material stands out as the best alternative.Additionally,an excellent PCE of 21.4530%can be obtained with the thicker MASnI_(3)absorber layer thickness(0.4μm).Lastly,the highestperformance photovoltaic devices(28.6193%)can be created with the optimized perovskite doping density of around E15 cm^(3)(Cs_(3)Bi_(2)I_(9)),E18 cm^(3)(MASnI_(3)),and 1.5E19 cm^(3)(Cs_(2)TiBr_(6)).This work manifests that the proposed CTLs-free PSCs with multi-absorber layers shall be a relevant reference for forward applications in electro-optical and optoelectronic devices.

Identification of high oxygen-consuming substances in stormwater drainage systems illicitly connected with sewage system

The dissolved oxygen content in water is an important indicator for assessing the quality of the water environment,and maintaining a certain amount of dissolved oxygen is essential for the healthy development of the ecological environment.When a water body is anoxic,the activity of anaerobic microorganisms increases and organic matter is decomposed to produce a large number of blackening and odorizing substances,resulting in black and odorous water bodies,which is a very common and typical phenomenon in China.Presently,there is still a relatively universal occurrence of illicitly connected stormwater and sewage pipes in the urban drainage pipe network in China,which makes oxygen-consuming substances be directly discharged into rivers through stormwater pipes and consume the dissolved oxygen in the water bodies,resulting in an oxygen deficiency of the water.This induces seasonal or year-round black and stink phenomena in urban rivers.Hence,identifying high oxygen-consuming substances,which lays the foundation for the subsequent removal of oxygen-consuming substances,is essential.Through a series of comparisons of water quality indicators and analysis of organic characteristics,it was found that the oxygen consumption capacity of domestic sewage was higher than that of industrial wastewater in the selected area of this study,and the oxygen-consuming substances of domestic sewage were small molecular amino acids.By comparing 20 conventional free amino acids,it was found that seven of them consumed oxygen easily,and compared with chemical oxygen consumption,biological oxygen consumption was in a leading position.

MicroRNA (let-7b-5p)-targeted DARS2 regulates lung adenocarcinoma growth by PI3K/AKT signaling pathway

Background:The aberrant intraellular expression of a mitochondrial aspartyl tRNA synthetase 2(DARS2)has been reported in human cancers.Nevertheless its critical role and detailed mechanism in lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)remain unexplored.Methods:Initially,The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)based Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis(GEPIA)database (http:/***/)was used to analyze the prognostic relevance of DARS2 expression in LUAD.Further,cell counting kit(CCK)8,immunostaining,and transwell invasion assays in LUAD cell lines in vitro,as well as DARS2 silence on LUAD by tumorigenicity experiments in wivo in nude mice,were performed.Besides,we analyzed the expression levels of p-PI3K(phosphorylated Phosphotylinosital3 kinase),PI3K,AKT(Protein Kinase B),p-AKT(phosphorylated Protein Kinase B),PCNA(proliferating cell nudear antigen),cleaved-caspase 3,E cadherin,and N-cadherin proteins using the Westem blot analysis.Results:LUAD tissues showed higher DARS2 expression compared to normal tissues.Upregulation of DARS2 could be related to Tumor-Node-Metastasis(TNM)stage,high lymph node metastasis,and inferior prognosis.DARS2 silence decreased the proliferation,migration,and invasion abilities of LUAD cells.In addition,the DARS2 downregulation decreased the PCNA and N-cadherin expression and increased cleaved:caspase 3 and E cadherin expressions in LUAD cells,coupled with the inactivation of the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.Moreover,DARS2 silence impaired the tumonigenicity of LUAD in vivo.Interestingly,let:7b-5p could recognize DARS2 through a complementary sequence.Mechanistically,the increased let 7b 5p expression attenuated the promo oncogenic action of DARS2 during LUAD progression,which were inversely correlated to each other in the LUAD tssues Conclusion:In summary,let 7b-5p,downregulated DARS2 expression,regulating the progression of LUAD cells by the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.

Durable Ru Nanocrystal with HfO_(2)Modification for Acidic Overall Water Splitting

Durable and efficient bi-functional catalyst,that is capable of both oxygen evolution reaction and hydrogen evolution reaction under acidic condition,are highly desired for the commercialization of proton exchange membrane water electrolysis.Herein,we report a robust L-Ru/HfO_(2)heterostructure constructed via confining crystalline Ru nanodomains by HfO_(2)matrix.When assembled with a proton exchange membrane,the bi-functional L-Ru/HfO_(2)catalyst-based electrolyzer presents a voltage of 1.57 and 1.67 V to reach 100 and 300 mA cm^(-2)current density,prevailing most of previously reported Ru-based materials as well as commercial Pt/C||RuO_(2)electrolyzer.It is revealed that the synergistic effect of HfO_(2)modification and small crystalline domain formation significantly alleviates the over-oxidation of Ru.More importantly,this synergistic effect facilitates a dual-site oxide path during the oxygen evolution procedure via optimization of the binding configurations of oxygenated adsorbates.As a result,the Ru active sites maintain the metallic state along with reduced energy barrier for the rate-determining step(*O→*OOH).Both of water adsorption and dissociation(Volmer step)are strengthened,while a moderate hydrogen binding is achieved to accelerate the hydrogen desorption procedure(Tafel step).Consequently,the activity and stability of acidic overall water splitting are simultaneously enhanced.

Structure and mechanical properties of windmill palm fiber with different delignification treatments

The removal of lignin from natural cellulose fibers is a crucial step in preparing high-performance materials,such as compressed high-toughness composites.This process can eliminate non-cellulosic impurities,create abundant compressible pores,and expose a greater number of active functional groups.In this study,biomass waste windmill palm fiber was used as the raw mate-rial to prepare holocellulose fibers through various chemical treatments.The structure,chemical composition,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analysis,X-ray diffraction analysis,ther-mal properties,and mechanical properties,particularly fatigue performance,were studied.The sodium chlorite treated fiber had the highest crystallinity index(61.3%)and the most complete appearance structure.The sodium sulfite treated fiber had the highest tensile strength(227.34±52.27)MPa.Hydroxide peroxide treatment removed most of the lignin and hemicellulose,increas-ing the cellulose content to 68.83%±0.65%.However,all the chemical treatments decreased the thermal property of the fibers.

Blockchain-based immunization against kleptographic attacks

Adversarial implementations of cryptographic primitives called kleptographic attacks cause the leakage of secret information. Subliminal channel attacks are one of the kleptographic attacks. In such attacks, backdoors are embedded in implementations of randomized algorithms to elaborately control randomness generation, such that the secrets will be leaked from biased outputs. To thwart subliminal channel attacks, double-splitting is a feasible solution, which splits the randomness generator of a randomized algorithm into two independent generators. In this paper, we instantiate double-splitting to propose a secure randomness generation algorithm dubbed SRG using two physically independent generators: ordinary and public randomness generators. Based on public blockchains, we construct the public randomness generator,which can be verified publicly. Hashes of a sufficient number of consecutive blocks that are newly confirmed on a blockchain are used to produce public randomness. In SRG, outputs from the two generators are taken as inputs of an immunization function. SRG accomplishes immunization against subliminal channel attacks.Additionally, we discuss the application strategies of SRG for symmetric and public-key encryption.

Screening biomarkers for spinal cord injury using weighted gene co-expression network analysis and machine learning

Immune changes and inflammatory responses have been identified as central events in the pathological process of spinal co rd injury.They can greatly affect nerve regeneration and functional recovery.However,there is still limited understanding of the peripheral immune inflammato ry response in spinal cord inju ry.In this study.we obtained microRNA expression profiles from the peripheral blood of patients with spinal co rd injury using high-throughput sequencing.We also obtained the mRNA expression profile of spinal cord injury patients from the Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO)database(GSE151371).We identified 54 differentially expressed microRNAs and 1656 diffe rentially expressed genes using bioinformatics approaches.Functional enrichment analysis revealed that various common immune and inflammation-related signaling pathways,such as neutrophil extracellular trap formation pathway,T cell receptor signaling pathway,and nuclear factor-κB signal pathway,we re abnormally activated or inhibited in spinal cord inju ry patient samples.We applied an integrated strategy that combines weighted gene co-expression network analysis,LASSO logistic regression,and SVM-RFE algorithm and identified three biomarke rs associated with spinal cord injury:ANO10,BST1,and ZFP36L2.We verified the expression levels and diagnostic perfo rmance of these three genes in the original training dataset and clinical samples through the receiver operating characteristic curve.Quantitative polymerase chain reaction results showed that ANO20 and BST1 mRNA levels were increased and ZFP36L2 mRNA was decreased in the peripheral blood of spinal cord injury patients.We also constructed a small RNA-mRNA interaction network using Cytoscape.Additionally,we evaluated the proportion of 22 types of immune cells in the peripheral blood of spinal co rd injury patients using the CIBERSORT tool.The proportions of naive B cells,plasma cells,monocytes,and neutrophils were increased while the proportions of memory B cells,CD8^(+)T cells,resting natural killer cells,resti
