The significant increase of NO_(x)concentration causes severe damages to environment and human ***-driven photocatalytic technique affords an ideal solution for the removal of NO_(x)at ambient *** enhance the performance of NO_(x)removal,1D,2D and 3D photocatalysts have been constructed as the light absorption and the separation of charge carriers can be manipulated through controlling the morphology of the *** works mainly focused on the construction and modification of special morphologic photocatalyst,including element doping,heterostructure constructing,crystal facet exposing,defect sites introducing and so ***,the excellent performance of the photocatalytic NO_(x)removal creates great awareness of the application,which has promising practical applications in NO_(x)removal by paint(removing NO_(x)indoor and outdoor)and pavement(degrading vehicle exhausts).For these considerations,recent advances in special morphologic photocatalysts for NO_(x)removal was summarized and commented in this *** purpose is to provide insights into understanding the relationship between morphology and photocatalytic performance,meanwhile,to promote the application of photocatalytic technology in NO_(x)degradation.

Improvement of the lateral stability of vehicle suspension incorporating inerter

As a newly proposed two terminals mechanical element, inerter has been successfully applied in vehicle suspension system to improve its vertical vibration isolation performance. The novelty of this paper is to explore the advantages of lateral stability of vehicle suspension by the use of inerter element. A full car model considering the steering condition is built, and the standard fishhook steering input is chosen to test the lateral stability of the suspension system. By considering the ride comfort performance and the rollover resistance performance, three basic suspension layouts incorporating inerter element are optimized by means of genetic algorithm. Constraints of the suspension working space and road holding ability are also taken into account during the optimization. Two steering input condition, namely the sine-steer input and the fishhook steer input are performed to evaluate the vehicle suspension performance. Results show that, the ride comfort and the lateral stability of the vehicle suspension system can be synchronously improved by including the inerter element.

It is known that different relationships exist between the strength and displacement of the stratospheric polar vortex(SPV),and the surface air temperature(SAT)patterns in Eurasia and North America,but the mechanisms behind these relationships remain unclear,especially on an interannual *** on empirical orthogonal function(EOF)analysis using NCEP reanalysis data over 1958–2018,this study attempts to ascertain the relationship between the SPV intensity and displacement over the Arctic and the SATs in the midlatitudes of the Northern *** results indicate that a strengthened SPV corresponds to an SAT increase in Eurasia and a decrease in eastern North America and *** the SPV is shifted towards Eurasia,however,a corresponding SAT increase occurs in both North America and Eurasia,with a larger increase in North America than in ***,a strengthened SPV tends to correspond to a positive North Atlantic Oscillation-like circulation in the troposphere with negative geopotential height(GH)anomalies in Greenland and eastern North American continent and positive GH anomalies to the north of 45°N in Eurasia,which corresponds to lower SATs in North America than in ***,when the SPV shifted towards Eurasia,it was accompanied by a positive Pacific/North American-like pattern with a deepened Aleutian low,which corresponds to the increasing SATs in North *** tropospheric circulation changes are related to the response of tropospheric planetary wave activity to the SPV.A strengthened SPV corresponds to the weakening of tropospheric planetary wave-1 waves,which is accompanied by a negative GH in North America but a positive GH in *** the SPV shifted towards Eurasia,the tropospheric planetary wave-1(-2)waves strengthened(weakened),and the combined effects of the planetary wave-1 and wave-2 waves would cause positive GH anomalies in both Eurasia and North America.

Highly-open nanoframe structures consisting of interconnected and exposed ridges are highly desirable for achieving efficient catalysis,but preparing them by a facile etching-free methodology is still a very daunting ***,we propose a novel metal-organic framework(MOF)-assisted and etching-free strategy for the construction of Co/N-doped carbon nanoframes with highly-open and precisely-controllable *** strategy is based on the face-selective epitaxial growth of ZIF-67 on the 36{110}facets of 72-facet ZIF-8 to form an unprecedented anisotropic ZIF-67-on-ZIF-8 heterostructure,which is subsequently pyrolyzed under Ar atmosphere to realize a solid-to-frame *** highly-open nanoframe structure enables the substrates to readily penetrate into the catalyst interior and thereby create additional exposed active sites,which together with the good mass transport,high atomic utilization and increased surface area are responsible for its remarkably enhanced catalytic activity for the biomass valorisation when compared with its solid and closed hollow *** study could shed valuable insights into the design and preparation of various highly-open nanoframes with abundant exposed active species by using an etching-free strategy for efficient catalysis and beyond.

In this paper, we report the design of a Monte Carlo simulation for the energy spectrum measurement system based on the ladderabsorption method. Herein, the detector response matrix can be calculated using the detector responses to several monochromatic X-ray beams. A novel soft X-ray spectrum unfolding method based on the two-step reverse iteration(TSRI) algorithm is applied to acquire the primary spectrum. This paper provides examples of the use of TSRI, and the unfolded energy spectra for the soft Xray beams show excellent agreement with the references. The unfolded energy spectra obtained using the TSRI exhibit better accuracy than those obtained from the commonly used unfolding code GRAVEL.

In this paper,the Fourier spectrum-based strain energy damage detection method for beam-like structures is proposed based on the discrete Fourier *** classical strain energy damage detection method localizes damage by the comparison of the strain energy between the intact and inspected *** evaluation of the 2nd-order derivative term in the strain energy plays a crucial part in the *** classical methods are mostly based on a numerical derivative estimation for this *** numerical derivative,however,introduces additional disturbances into damage *** address this problem,a discrete Fourier transform-based strain energy is proposed with the emphasis of enhancing the performance in noisy *** validations conducted on the simulated and experimental data show that the developed method is effective enough for composite beam damage detection in noisy environments.

Deep learning provides exciting solutions in many fields, such as image analysis, natural language processing, and expert system, and is seen as a key method for various future applications. On account of its non-invasive and good soft tissue contrast, in recent years, Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI) has been attracting increasing attention. With the development of deep learning, many innovative deep learning methods have been proposed to improve MRI image processing and analysis performance. The purpose of this article is to provide a comprehensive overview of deep learning-based MRI image processing and analysis. First, a brief introduction of deep learning and imaging modalities of MRI images is given. Then, common deep learning architectures are introduced. Next, deep learning applications of MRI images, such as image detection, image registration, image segmentation, and image classification are discussed. Subsequently, the advantages and weaknesses of several common tools are discussed, and several deep learning tools in the applications of MRI images are ***, an objective assessment of deep learning in MRI applications is presented, and future developments and trends with regard to deep learning for MRI images are addressed.

Computational tools on top of first principle calculations have played an indispensable role in revealing the molecular details,thermodynamics,and kinetics in catalytic *** we proposed a highly efficient dynamic strategy for the calculation of thermodynamic and kinetic properties in heterogeneous catalysis on the basis of efficient potential energy surface(PES)and MD *** CO adsorbate on Ru(0001)surface as the illustrative model system,we demonstrated the PES-based MD can efficiently generate reliable two-dimensional potential-of-mean-force(PMF)surfaces in a wide range of temperatures,and thus temperature-dependent thermodynamic properties can be obtained in a comprehensive investigation on the whole PMF ***,MD offers an effective way to describe the surface kinetics such as adsorbate on-surface movement,which goes beyond the most popular static approach based on free energy barrier and transition state theory(TST).We further revealed that the dynamic strategy significantly improves the predictions of both thermodynamic and kinetic properties as compared to the popular ideal statistic mechanics approaches such as harmonic analysis and *** is expected that this accurate yet efficient dynamic strategy can be powerful in understanding mechanisms and reactivity of a catalytic surface system,and further guides the rational design of heterogeneous catalysts.
