Elastic-plastic steel damper(EPSD) is a new device controlling seismic *** mechanical principle of EPSD was presented and a comparison was conducted between the theoretical formulas and finite element(FE) simulation of damper *** verified force-displacement hysteretic curve of the damper system was obtained with reference to *** Nanjing Jiangxinzhou Bridge(NJB) was subsequently taken as the case to investigate the seismic response control effect of EPSDs on single-tower self-anchored suspension bridges.A 3-dimensional FE model of the bridge was established in ANSYS and the dynamic and static analyses of the bridge were conducted,the control effect of EPSDs under different seismic waves was further investigated through nonlinear time-history analysis based on the validated *** showed that both the simplified theoretical and FE simulation methods can preferable reflect the mechanical performance of EPSD,and that seismic responses of NJB with EPSDs are better than those with elastic connection device or fluid viscous ***,the control effect of EPSDs is influenced by seismic wave characteristics.

In the context of global climate change,the impact of group-occurring ocean dynamic disasters on China's offshore areas is becoming more and more *** study of the effect of existing ocean dynamic disasters on offshore hazard-bearing bodies mostly focuses on the effect of single disaster-causing factors,and it is still insufficient to study storm surge and dynamic wave coupling&reinforcement effects as well as the process of the dynamic response of such hazard-bearing bodies as *** study firstly realized the synchronous process of water level and wave through continuous tide generation and wave generation by the wave maker and tide generating device,so as to realize the dynamic coupling simulation of storm surge and wave in the *** the physical model test of the typical seawall section was carried out under the dynamic coupling of storm surge and wave as well as at a conventional fixed water level *** the process of test wave overtopping discharge and the damage process of the levee crown and backwall of seawalls were observed and compared,and their damage mechanism was also studied.

Co-M （M= Co, Ni, Fe, Mn） layered double hydroxides （LDHs） were successfully fabricated by a hexamethylenetetramine （HMT） pyrolysis method. Composite electrodes were made using a self-assembly fashion at inorganic/organic surface binder-free and were used to catalyze oxygen evolution reaction. Water oxidation can take place in neutral electrolyte operating with modest overpotential. The doping of other transitional metal cations affords mix valences and thus more intimate electronic interactions for reversible chemisorption of dioxygen molecules. The application of employing LDH materials in water oxidation process bodes well to facilitate future hydrogen utilization.

Large eddy simulation (LES) explicitly calculates the large-scale vortex field and parameterizes the small-scale *** this study,LES and κ-ε models were developed for a specific geometrical configuration of backward-facing step (BFS).The simulation results were validated with particle image velocimetry (PIV) measurements and direct numerical simulation (DNS).This LES simulation was carried out with a Reynolds number of 9000 in a pressurized water tunnel with an expansion ratio of *** results indicate that the LES model can reveal largescale vortex motion although with a larger grid-cell ***,the LES model tends to overestimate the top wall separation and the Reynolds stress components for the BFS flow simulation without a sufficiently fine ***,LES is a potential tool for simulating separated flow controlled by large-scale vortices.

The global asymptotic stability for Hopfield neural networks with time delay was investigated, A theorem and two corollaries were obtained, in which the boundedness and differentiability of f(j) on R in some articles were deleted. Some sufficient conditions for the existence of global asymptotic stable equilibrium of the networks in this paper are better than the sufficient conditions in quoted articles.

Objective To study the use of Chinese medicine(CM)in cancer patients in southern *** A total of 1,950 cancer patients finished questionnaires in four provinces in southern *** survey included socio-demographic and clinical characteristics of participants,dosage forms,efficacy,and side *** The study results showed that cancer patients with higher education(>12 years)were more likely to accept the treatment of Chinese *** were 54.61%(1,065 cases)of patients chose Chinese herbs for the initial treatment and 14.46%(282 cases)chose Chinese herbs as *** patients(54.51%,1,063 cases)continuously used CM for more than 6 months,and a few of them(212 cases)used CM for up to 3 *** kinds of dosage forms of CM had been used,including CM decoction,CM patent prescription and CM *** the efficacy in the view of patients,40.31%(786 cases)believed that it would be effective to take Chinese herbs before they starting the anti-cancer treatment,and the percentage increased to 81.08%after 1-month CM *** effect of Chinese herbs was mainly demonstrated by symptom relief and improvement of quality of life,and 8.31%(162 cases)of patients experienced control of tumor growth and decreased tumor ***,only 14.31%(279 cases)participants reported that they experienced side effects during CM *** This large scale investigation reflects the current situation of domestic CM usage objectively and comprehensively,which might provide new ways for cancer treatment.

Climatology of the isothermal layer depth （ILD） and the mixed layer depth （MLD） has been produced from in-situ temperaturesalinity observations in the East China Sea （ECS） since 1925. The methods applied on the global are used to compute the ILD and the MLD in the ECS with a temperature criterion AT=0. 8 ℃ for the ILD, and a density criterion with a threshold △σθ corresponding to fixed △T=0. 8 ℃ for the MLD, respectively. With the derived climatology ILD and MLD, the monthly variations of the barrier layer （BL） and the compensation layer （CL） in the ECS are analyzed. The BL mainly exists in the shallow water region of the ECS during April-June with thickness larger than 15 m. From December to next March, the area along the shelf break from northeast of Taiwan Island to the northeast ECS is characterized by the CL. Two kinds of main temperature - salinity structures of the CL in this area are given.

Recent years have witnessed numerous technical breakthroughs in connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs). On the one hand, these breakthroughs have significantly advanced the development of intelligent transportation systems (ITSs);on the other hand, these new traffic participants introduce more complex and uncertain elements to ITSs from the social space. Digital twins (DTs) provide real-time, data-driven, precise modeling for constructing the digital mapping of physical-world ITSs. Meanwhile, the metaverse integrates emerging technologies such as virtual reality/mixed reality, artificial intelligence, and DTs to model and explore how to realize improved sustainability, increased efficiency, and enhanced safety. More recently, as a leading effort toward general artificial intelligence, the concept of foundation model was proposed and has achieved significant success, showing great potential to lay the cornerstone for diverse artificial intelligence applications across different domains. In this article, we explore the big models embodied foundation intelligence for parallel driving in cyber-physical-social spaces, which integrate metaverse and DTs to construct a parallel training space for CAVs, and present a comprehensive elucidation of the crucial characteristics and operational mechanisms. Beyond providing the infrastructure and foundation intelligence of big models for parallel driving, this article also discusses future trends and potential research directions, and the ?S?goals of parallel driving.

The South China Sea(SCS) is the largest semi-enclosed marginal sea in the North Pacific. Salinity changes in the SCS play an important role in regional and global ocean circulation and the hydrological cycle. However, there are few studies on salinity changes over the SCS due to lack of high-quality and long-term observations. In the past decade, the deployment of floats from the Argo program in the SCS and their accumulated temperature and salinity profiles have made it possible for us to examine salinity changes over the entire basin. In this study,salinity changes were investigated with Argo and underwater glider temperature and salinity observations and gridded temperature–salinity objective analyses(UK Met Office Hadley Centre EN4.2.1 objective analysis and China Argo Real-time Data Center BOA_Argo). The results indicated that the subsurface water in the entire SCS became significantly saltier during 2016–2017. The most significant salinity increase was found during 2016 in the northeastern SCS. The subsurface water in the northeastern SCS exhibited a salinity maximum above 35, which was recorded by three Argo floats during 2015–2016. Such high salinity water was rarely observed and reported prior to the Argo era. Average salinity of 2016–2017 along the 25.5σ_θ–23.5σ_θ isopycnal surfaces in the whole SCS is 0.014-0.130 higher than the climatology. Increases in subsurface salinity started from the northeastern SCS and extended southwestward gradually. Moreover, the subsurface salinity changes, especially in the northern SCS,exhibited a semiannual lead behind the subsurface Luzon Strait transport. Further analysis indicated that the predominance of advection, driven by subsurface Luzon Strait transport, led to salinification along the western boundary of the SCS. In other parts of the SCS, negative wind stress curl trends tended to preserve the high salinity characteristics of the subsurface water.

Using Fe3O4 nano-particles as seeds, a new type of Fe3O4/Au composite particles with core/shell structure and diameter of about 170 nm was prepared by reduction of Au3+ with hydroxylamine in an aqueous solution. Particle size analyzer and transmission electron micro-scope were used to analyze the size distribution and microstructure of the particles in different conditions. The result showed that the magnetically responsive property and suspension stability of Fe3O4 seeds as well as reduction conditions of Au3+ to Au0 are the main factors which are crucial for obtaining a colloid of the Fe3O4/Au composite particles with uniform particle dispersion, excellent stability, homogeneity in particle sizes, and effective response to an external magnet in aqueous suspension solutions. UV-Vis analysis revealed that there is a characteristic peak of Fe3O4/Au fluid. For particles with d(0.5)=168 nm, the lmax is 625 nm.
