磷作为一切生物体的必需元素,参与了包括生命体能量代谢、结构调控、遗传信息传递等在内的必要过程,其重要性不言而喻。然而,在国内基础学科教学过程中,基于酶促反应的调控机制和反应机理被拆分到众多生化专业相关的课程中,并未能得到系统性的剖析与讲解。本文从基础磷酸酯和磷酸酐的化学结构及反应特性入手,分别讨论了生物体中磷酸酯相关的调控酶类,并对最重要的一类磷酸酐——三磷酸腺苷在生物体内的转化关系做了系统性的讲解及分析。作为对磷元素相关的生命化学过程的梳理归纳,希望对化学及生命科学的教学与科研实验设计有所助益。

This is the only report demonstrating innovative ancient whole grain gluten-free (no yeast or chemicals) products. Ancient whole grain gluten-free flatbreads were prepared with quinoa, teff, amaranth and buckwheat flours. Dough formulations contained flour, salt and water. Ingredients were mixed for 5 min using table top Kitchen Aid mixer at stir setting 1. Dough was equilibrated for 30 min. 65 g of dough was placed between two sheets of nonstick parchment paper and pressed to 17 cm round flatbreads in a Tortilla Chapatti Press. Each flatbread was cooked for two minutes (one minute each side) in using Flatbread Maker. Taste panels of 64 inhouse volunteers determined that Taste/Flavor of quinoa, teff and amaranth flatbreads were similar and significantly (P ≤ 0.05) better than those for buckwheat flatbread. The taste panel determined ancient whole grain gluten-free flatbreads had acceptance of quinoa 84%, teff 72%, amaranth 66% and buckwheat 38%. Each ancient whole grain gluten-free flatbread contained 25 - 30 g whole grain and 4 - 5 g protein. Quinoa, teff and amaranth one flatbread contained 2 - 3 g dietary fiber, whereas buckwheat flatbread contained 8 g dietary fiber. Consuming two whole grain gluten-free flatbreads with two meals (total = 4) would give 4 - 32 g of dietary fiber. The USDA food guide recom mends that at least 1/2 of all the grains eaten should be whole grains. The FDA allows food Health Claim labels for food containing 51% whole gains and 11 g of dietary fiber. The gluten sensitive individuals would enjoy tasty, health promoting, ancient whole grain easy to make flatbreads. These recipes offer consumers additional nutritious gluten-free choices and would lead to in crease in whole grain consumption.

The SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variants are notorious for their transmissibility,but little is known about their subgenomic RNA(sgRNA)*** study applied RNA-seq to delineate the quantitative and qualitative profiles of canonical sgRNA of 118 respiratory samples collected from patients infected with Omicron BA.2 and compared with 338 patients infected with non-variant of concern(non-VOC)-D614G.A unique characteristic profile depicted by the relative abundance of 9 canonical sgRNAs was reproduced by both BA.2 and non-VOCD614G regardless of host gender,age and presence of ***,such profile was lost in samples with low viral load,suggesting a potential application of sgRNA pattern to indicate viral activity of individual patient at a specific time point.A characteristic qualitative profile of canonical sgRNAs was also reproduced by both BA.2 and *** presence of a full set of canonical sgRNAs carried a coherent correlation with crude viral load(AUC¼0.91,95%CI 0.88–0.94),and sgRNA ORF7b was identified to be the best surrogate marker allowing feasible routine application in characterizing the infection status of individual *** potentials in using sgRNA as a target for vaccine and antiviral development are worth pursuing.

Background Asthma is a significant chronic health problem worldwide. Management aims at disease control by reducing functional impairment and exacerbations and improving quality of life (QoL). We report a multi-center study to survey asthma control and QoL in four cities in the Pearl River Delta. Methods The conjoint survey involved ten Hong Kong pediatric hospitals/units, two Shenzhen hospitals, two Macao hos-pitals, and two Guangzhou hospitals on asthma control (using Asthma Control Test) and QoL (Pediatric Allergic Disease Quality of Life Questionnaire, PADQLQ). Acceptability of a treatment is graded as very good/good/fair/poor. Results Good asthma control was only reported in 80% subjects in Hong Kong, but higher in sister cities (85–94%, P<0.001). Allergic rhinitis, 'incense burning', and 'smoker in family' were prevalent among the four cities. Logistic regres-sion showed better control of asthma was associated with better PADQLQ (B=?0.029, P < 0.001), better acceptability of bronchodilator (B=?1.488, P = 0.025), negatively with 'smoker in family' (B=?0.83, P = 0.015) and various PADQLQ domains. Conversely, worse PADQLQ was associated with allergic rhinitis severity (B=4.77, P <0.001), poor control of asthma (B=7.56, P <0.001), increased frequency of traditional Chinese medicine use (B=1.7, P < 0.05), increased fre-quency of bronchodilator usage (B=1.05, P < 0.05), 'smoker in family' (B=4.05, P < 0.05), and incense burning at home (B=3.9, P < 0.05). Conclusions There are some clinical and cultural differences among the four southern Chinese cities within the Guangdong province. This study identifies potentially modifiable environmental and treatment factors associated with poor asthma control and QoL for health-care interventions. Having a smoker in the family is independently associated with poor asthma control and QoL.

在刚刚过去的第78届威尼斯电影节上,主竞赛单元就有三部与母亲有关的电影:佩德罗·阿莫多瓦(Pedro Almodóvar)的《平行母亲》(Madres paralelas,2021)把抱错孩子又相恋这样一个听起来有点儿“狗血”的故事融入生命的传承和历史伤痛中;奥黛丽·迪万(Audrey Diwan)的《正发生》(L’événement,2021)带着强烈的痛感展示了一个20世纪60年代的残酷堕胎故事,最终斩获金狮奖;相比之下,玛吉·吉伦哈尔(maggie Gyllenhaal)的《失去的女儿》(The Lost Daughter,2021)则显得有点儿普通,影片讲述了一个非典型妈妈的故事,她和丈夫离婚,曾经三年不见女儿,如今功成名就,孑然一身。
