Ultrahigh spatiotemporal resolution beam signal reconstruction with bunch phase compensation

Various electromagnetic signals are excited by the beam in the acceleration and beam-diagnostic elements of a particle accelerator.It is important to obtain time-domain waveforms of these signals with high temporal resolution for research,such as the study of beam–cavity interactions and bunch-by-bunch parameter measurements.Therefore,a signal reconstruction algorithm with ultrahigh spatiotemporal resolution and bunch phase compensation based on equivalent sampling is proposed in this paper.Compared with traditional equivalent sampling,the use of phase compensation and setting the bunch signal zero-crossing point as the time reference can construct a more accurate reconstructed signal.The basic principles of the method,simulation,and experimental comparison are also introduced.Based on the beam test platform of the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility(SSRF)and the method of experimental verification,the factors that affect the reconstructed signal quality are analyzed and discussed,including the depth of the sampled data,quantization noise of analog-to-digital converter,beam transverse oscillation,and longitudinal oscillation.The results of the beam experiments show that under the user operation conditions of the SSRF,a beam excitation signal with an amplitude uncertainty of 2%can be reconstructed.

Gastric organoids are models created in the laboratory using stem cells and sophisticated three-dimensional cell culture techniques.These models have shown great promise in providing valuable insights into gastric physiology and advanced disease research.This review comprehensively summarizes and analyzes the research advances in culture methods and techniques for adult stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cell-derived organoids,and patient-derived organoids.The potential value of gastric organoids in studying the pathogenesis of stomach-related diseases and facilitating drug screening is initially discussed.The construction of gastric organoids involves several key steps,including cell extraction and culture,three-dimensional structure formation,and functional expression.Simulating the structure and function of the human stomach by disease modeling with gastric organoids provides a platform to study the mechanism of gastric cancer induction by Helicobacter pylori.In addition,in drug screening and development,gastric organoids can be used as a key tool to evaluate drug efficacy and toxicity in preclinical trials.They can also be used for precision medicine according to the specific conditions of patients with gastric cancer,to assess drug resistance,and to predict the possibility of adverse reactions.However,despite the impressive progress in the field of gastric organoids,there are still many unknowns that need to be addressed,especially in the field of regenerative medicine.Meanwhile,the reproducibility and consistency of organoid cultures are major challenges that must be overcome.These challenges have had a significant impact on the development of gastric organoids.Nonetheless,as technology continues to advance,we can foresee more comprehensive research in the construction of gastric organoids.Such research will provide better solutions for the treatment of stomach-related diseases and personalized medicine.

Electronic regulation to achieve efficient anaerobic digestion of organic fraction of municipal solid waste(OFMSW):strategies,challenges and potential solutions

Anaerobic digestion(AD)of organic fraction of municipal solid waste(OFMSW)is prone to system breakdown under high organic loading rates(OLRs)condition,which subsequently reduces the efficiency of digestion process and results in substantial economic losses.In this perspective paper,the substances metabolisms,electrons flow,as well as microbial interaction mechanisms within AD process are comprehensively discussed,and the underlying bottleneck that causes inefficient methane production is identified,which is“electrons surplus”.Systems encountering severe electron surplus are at risk of process failure,making it crucial to proactively prevent this phenomenon through appropriate approaches.On this basis,the present perspective proposes three potential electronic regulation strategies to prevent electrons surplus,namely,electron shunt,accelerating electron transfer and regulating methanogenic metabolism pathway,and presents specific methodologies for each strategy.Furthermore,the potential solutions to challenges that may occur during the electronic regulation process are also presented in this paper.This perspective aims to provide innovative approaches to achieve the efficient and stable operation of OFMSW anaerobic digestion,especially under high OLRs condition.

Fibroblast growth factor 21(FGF21)was originally identified as an important meta-bolic regulator which plays a crucial physiological role in regulating a variety of metabolic pa-rameters through the metabolic network.As a novel multifunctional endocrine growth factor,the role of FGF21 in the metabolic network warrants extensive exploration.This insight was obtained from the observation that the FGF21-dependent mechanism that regulates lipid metabolism,glycogen transformation,and biological effectiveness occurs through the coordi-nated participation of the liver,adipose tissue,central nervous system,and sympathetic nerves.This review focuses on the role of FGF21-uncoupling protein 1(UCP1)signaling in lipid metabolism and how FGF21 alleviates non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Additionally,this review reveals the mechanism by which FGF21 governs glucolipid metabolism.Recent research on the role of FGF21 in the metabolic network has mostly focused on the crucial pathway of glucolipid metabolism.FGF21 has been shown to have multiple regulatory roles in the metabolic network.Since an adequate understanding of the concrete regulatory path-ways of FGF21 in the metabolic network has not been attained,this review sheds new light on the metabolic mechanisms of FGF21,explores how FGF21 engages different tissues and organs,and lays a theoretical foundation for future in-depth research on FGF21-targeted treatment of metabolic diseases.

Trace elements in magmatic and hydrothermal quartz:Implications on the genesis of the Xingluokeng Tungsten Deposit,South China

The Xingluokeng deposit is the largest gran-ite-related tungsten deposit within the Wuyi metallogenic belt in South China.The Xingluokeng intrusion primarily consists of porphyritic biotite granite,biotite granite,andfine-grained granite.The deposit is represented by veinlet-disseminated mineralization with K-feldspathization and biotitization,alongside quartz-vein mineralization with gre-isenization and sericitization.This study investigates in-situ analyses of quartz compositions from both the intrusion and hydrothermal veinlets and veins.Trace element correlations indicate that trivalent Al^(3+)and Fe^(3+)replace Si^(4+)within the quartz lattice,with monovalent cations(such as Li^(+),Na^(+),and K^(+))primarily serving as charge compensators.Low Ge/Al ratios(<0.013)of quartz from granites suggest a mag-matic origin.The low Al/Ti and Ge/Ti ratios,accompanied by high Ti contents in quartz,suggest that the porphyritic biotite granite and biotite granite are characterized by rela-tively low levels of differentiation and high crystallization temperatures.In contrast,thefine-grained granite exhibits a higher degree of fractionation,lower crystallization tem-peratures,and a closer association with tungsten miner-alization.Ti contents in quartz from quartz veins indicate Qz-Ⅰformed at temperatures above 400°C,while Qz-Ⅱto Qz-Ⅴformed at temperatures below 350°C.Variations in different generations of quartz,as indicated by Al content and(Al+Fe)/(Li+Na+K)ratio,suggest that Qz-Ⅰprecipi-tated from a less acidicfluid with a stable pH,whereas Qz-Ⅱto Qz-Ⅴoriginated from a more acidicfluid with notable pH variations.Consequently,alkaline alteration and acidic alteration supplied the essential Ca and Fe for the precipita-tion of scheelite and wolframite,respectively,highlighting a critical mechanism in tungsten mineralization at the Xin-gluokeng deposit.

Electromagnetic anisotropic homogeneous model for eddy-current field in single-phase wound core

The analysis of the eddy-current field in the wound core widely used in the field of transformer energy conservation is taken as the theme.Adopting the homogenisation idea to consider the unique geometry of the wound core and features of its equivalent multi-stage circular cross-section magnetic boundary,a homogeneous model consisting of a columnar material with continuous homogeneous electromagnetic anisotropy is established by deriving the Maxwell equations of the magnetic quasi-static field in the columnar coordinate system.Finally,a homogeneous fine element model for the eddycurrent field in the wound core is established and the accuracy of the model has been verified by the test platform.The result shows that the homogeneous model can be effectively used for the analysis of the eddy-current field in the wound core,and the error of calculating the eddy-current loss under different excitation conditions is less than 6%under the premise of extremely saving the engineering calculation cost,which will help improve the operational performance of the wound core and contribute to the energysaving goal of the high-voltage equipment.

Stochastic Gradient Compression for Federated Learning over Wireless Network

As a mature distributed machine learning paradigm,federated learning enables wireless edge devices to collaboratively train a shared AI-model by stochastic gradient descent(SGD).However,devices need to upload high-dimensional stochastic gradients to edge server in training,which cause severe communication bottleneck.To address this problem,we compress the communication by sparsifying and quantizing the stochastic gradients of edge devices.We first derive a closed form of the communication compression in terms of sparsification and quantization factors.Then,the convergence rate of this communicationcompressed system is analyzed and several insights are obtained.Finally,we formulate and deal with the quantization resource allocation problem for the goal of minimizing the convergence upper bound,under the constraint of multiple-access channel capacity.Simulations show that the proposed scheme outperforms the benchmarks.

Paraffin–CaCl_(2)·6H_(2)O dosage effects on the strength and heat transfer characteristics of cemented tailings backfill

The challenge of high temperatures in deep mining remains harmful to the health of workers and their production efficiency The addition of phase change materials (PCMs) to filling slurry and the use of the cold storage function of these materials to reduce downhole temperatures is an effective approach to alleviate the aforementioned problem.Paraffin–CaCl_(2)·6H_(2)O composite PCM was prepared in the laboratory.The composition,phase change latent heat,thermal conductivity,and cemented tailing backfill (CTB) compressive strength of the new material were studied.The heat transfer characteristics and endothermic effect of the PCM were simulated using Fluent software.The results showed the following:(1) The new paraffin–CaCl_(2)·6H_(2)O composite PCM improved the thermal conductivity of native paraffin while avoiding the water solubility of CaCl_(2)·6H_(2)O.(2) The calculation formula of the thermal conductivity of CaCl_(2)·6H_(2)O combined with paraffin was deduced,and the reasons were explained in principle.(3) The“enthalpy–mass scale model”was applied to calculate the phase change latent heat of nonreactive composite PCMs.(4)The addition of the paraffin–CaCl_(2)·6H_(2)O composite PCM reduced the CTB strength but increased its heat absorption capacity.This research can give a theoretical foundation for the use of heat storage backfill in green mines.

Reynosin protects neuronal cells from microglial neuroinflammation by suppressing NLRP3 inflammasome activation mediated by NADPH oxidase

Neuroinflammation,mediated by the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing-3(NLRP3)inflammasome,is a significant contributor to the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases(NDDs).Reynos-in,a natural sesquiterpene lactone(SL),exhibits a broad spectrum of pharmacological effects,suggesting its potential therapeutic value.However,the effects and mechanism of reynosin on neuroinflammation remain elusive.The current study explores the effects and mechanisms of reynosin on neuroinflammation using mice and BV-2 microglial cells treated with lipopolysaccharide(LPS).Our findings reveal that reynosin effectively reduces microglial inflammation in vitro,as demonstrated by decreased CD11b expression and lowered interleukin-1 beta(IL-1β)and interleukin-18(IL-18)mRNA and protein levels.Correspondingly,in vivo,results showed a re-duction in the number of Iba-1 positive cells and alleviation of morphological alterations,alongside decreased expressions of IL-1βand IL-18.Further analysis indicates that reynosin inhibits NLRP3 inflammasome activation,evidenced by reduced transcription of NLRP3 and caspase-1,diminished NLRP3 protein expression,inhibited apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD(ASC)oli-gomerization,and decreased caspase-1 self-cleavage.Additionally,reynosin curtailed the activation of nicotinamide adenine dinuc-leotide phosphate(NADPH)oxidase,demonstrated by reduced NADP^(+)and NADPH levels,downregulation of gp91^(phox) mRNA,pro-tein expression,suppression of p47^(phox) expression and translocation to the membrane.Moreover,reynosin exhibited a neuroprotective effect against microglial inflammation in vivo and in vitro.These collective findings underscore reynosin’s capacity to mitigate mi-croglial inflammation by inhibiting the NLRP3 inflammasome,thus highlighting its potential as a therapeutic agent for managing neuroinflammation.

BACKGROUND Clear cell sarcoma(CCS)is a rare soft-tissue sarcoma.The most common metastatic sites for CCS are the lungs,bones and brain.CCS is highly invasive and mainly metastasizes to the lung,followed by the bone and brain;however,pancreatic metastasis is relatively rare.CASE SUMMARY We report on a rare case of CCS with pancreatic metastasis in a 47-year-old man.The patient had a relevant medical history 3 years ago,with abdominal pain as the main clinical manifestation.No abnormalities were observed on physical examination and the tumor was found on abdominal computed tomography.Based on the medical history and postoperative pathology,the patient was diagnosed with CCS with pancreatic metastasis.The patient was successfully treated with surgical interventions,including distal pancreatectomy and sple-nectomy.CONCLUSION This report summarizes the available treatment modalities for CCS and the importance of regular postoperative follow-up for patients with CCS.
