Photodynamic therapy(PDT)has been increasingly used in the clinical treatment of neoplastic,inflammatory and infectious skin ***,the generation of reactive oxygen species(rOs)may induce undesired side effects in normal tissue surrounding the treatment lesion,which is a big challenge for the clinical application of *** date,(–)-Epigallocatechin gallate(EGcG)has been widely proposed as an antiangiogenic and antitumor agent for the protection of normal tissue from rOs-mediated oxidative *** study evaluates the regulation ability of EGcG for photodynamic damage of blood vessels during hematoporphyrin monomethyl ether(Hemoporfin)-mediated *** quenching rate constants of EGcG for the triplet-state Hemoporfin and photosensitized 1O2 generation are determined to be 6.8×10^(8)m^(−1)s^(−1),*** vasoconstriction of blood vessels in the protected region treated with EGcG hydrogel after PDT is lower than that of the control region treated with pure hydrogel,suggesting an efficiently reduced photodamage of Hemoporfin for blood vessels treated with *** study indicates that EGcG is an efficient quencher for triplet-state Hemoporfin and 1O2,and EGcG could be potentially used to reduce the undesired photodamage of normal tissue in clinical PDT.

The shuttle effect is among the most characteristic and formidable challenges in the pursuit of high-performance lithium-sulfur(li-s)***,phosphorylated cellulose nanofibers(pcNF)are intentionally engineered to establish an ion-sieving barrier against polysulfide shuttling and thereby improve battery *** phosphorylation,involving the grafting of phosphate groups onto the cellulose backbone,imparts an exceptional electronegativity that repels the polysulfide anions from penetrating through the ***,the electrolyte wettability and li^(+)transfer can be significantly promoted by the polar nature of pcNF and the facile li^(+)*** such,rational ion management is realized,contributing to enhanced reversibility in both sulfur and lithium *** a result,li-s cells equipped with the self-standing pcNF separator demonstrate outstanding long-term cyclability with a minimum fading rate of 0.013%per cycle over 1000 cycles at 1 c,and a decent areal capacity of 5.37 mA h cm^(-2) even under elevated sulfur loading of 5.0 mg cm^(-2) and limited electrolyte of 6.0 mL g^(-1).This work provides a facile and effective pathway toward the well-tamed shuttle effect and highly durable li-s batteries.

skeletal muscle has a robust regeneration ability that is impaired by severe injury,disease,and *** in a decline in skeletal muscle ***,improving skeletal muscle regeneration is a key challenge in treating skeletal muscle-related *** to their significant role in tissue regeneration,implantation of m2 macrophages(m2mФ)has great potential for improving skeletal muscle ***,we present a short-wave infrared(sWIr)fluorescence imaging technique to obtain more in vivo information for an in-depth evaluation of the skeletal muscle regeneration effect after m2mФ*** fluorescence imaging was employed to track implanted m2mФin the injured skeletal muscle of mouse *** is found that the implanted m2mФaccumulated at the injury site for two ***,sWIr fluorescence imaging of blood vessels showed that m2mФimplantation could improve the relative perfusion ratio on day 5(1.09±0.09 vs 0.85±0.05;p=0.01)and day 9(1.38±0.16 vs 0.95±0.03;p=0.01)post-injury,as well as augment the degree of skeletal muscle regencration on day 13 ***,multiple linear regression analyses determined that post-injury time and relative perfusion ratio could be used as predictive indicators to evaluate skeletal muscle *** results provide more in vivo details about m2mФin skeletal muscle regeneration and confirm that m2mФcould promote angiogenesis and improve the degree of skeletal muscle repair,which will guide the research and development of m2mФimplantation to improve skeletal muscle regeneration.

rescattering of stimulated raman side scattering(srss)is observed for the first time via two-dimensional(2D)particle-in-cell(PIc)*** construct a theoretical model for the rescattering process,which can predict the region of occurrence of mth-order srss and estimate its *** rescattering process is identified by the 2D PIc simulations under typical conditions of a direct-drive inertial confinement fusion *** electrons produced by second-order srss propagate nearly perpendicular to the density gradient and gain nearly the same energy as in first-order srss,but there is no cascade acceleration to produce superhot *** studies for a wide range of ignition conditions show that srss and associated rescatterings are robust and important processes in inertial confinement fusion.

The sArs-coV-2 Omicron variants are notorious for their transmissibility,but little is known about their subgenomic rNA(sgrNA)*** study applied rNA-seq to delineate the quantitative and qualitative profiles of canonical sgrNA of 118 respiratory samples collected from patients infected with Omicron BA.2 and compared with 338 patients infected with non-variant of concern(non-VOc)-D614G.A unique characteristic profile depicted by the relative abundance of 9 canonical sgrNAs was reproduced by both BA.2 and non-VOcD614G regardless of host gender,age and presence of ***,such profile was lost in samples with low viral load,suggesting a potential application of sgrNA pattern to indicate viral activity of individual patient at a specific time point.A characteristic qualitative profile of canonical sgrNAs was also reproduced by both BA.2 and *** presence of a full set of canonical sgrNAs carried a coherent correlation with crude viral load(AUc¼0.91,95%cI 0.88–0.94),and sgrNA OrF7b was identified to be the best surrogate marker allowing feasible routine application in characterizing the infection status of individual *** potentials in using sgrNA as a target for vaccine and antiviral development are worth pursuing.

Background The exudative form of age-related macular degeneration(AmD)is characterized by abnormal blood vessel growth,which is stimulated by vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)released from retinal pigment epithelium(rPE).The angiogenic behaviors of vascular endothelial cells in vitro depend on forkhead box protein P1(Foxp1),a transcription repressor widely expressed in human and murine tissues during *** this study,we aimed to determine whether loss of Foxp1 affects laser-induced choroidal neovascularization(cNV)in *** Eye-selective deletion of Foxp1 was obtained by crossing Foxp1flox/flox with six3-cre *** photocoagulation was delivered to six-to eight-week-old mice to induce *** expression of Foxp1 and cre was determined by immunofluorescence in cryostat sections of the *** fluorescein angiography(FFA),optical coherence tomography(OcT),and B4 isolectin staining were applied to analyze the leakage,bulge height,and area of cNV lesions,***-choroid tissues were isolated for the determination of VEGF and pigment epithelium derived factor(PEDF)by Western *** Foxp1 was expressed in retinal ganglion cells,rPE,and the choroidal endothelial *** photocoagulation increased the number of Foxp1+-endothelial cells and induced ***3-cre reduced Foxp1 expression in rPE but not the endothelium,leading to a lower level of VEGF in the ***1 knockout inhibited pathological angiogenesis and vascular leakage of the laser-induced cNV *** Foxp1 regulates the expression of VEGF in the rPE,and inhibition of Foxp1 could potentially be a novel strategy for the prevention and therapy of neovascularization related to AmD.

The chain dynamics heterogeneity of the poly(vinyl butyral)(PVB) plasticized by triethylene glycol bis(2-ethylhexa noate)(TEG-EH) was investigated by various solid-state Nmr *** plasticized PVB shows two domains in distinct molecular dynamics differences,namely,rigid and soft domains,where the latter is the plasticizer-rich *** time domain low field Nmr was first used to investigate the dynamics heterogeneity of the plasticized PVB,and the results show the decreasing activated energy of components in the soft domain of plasticized PVB(E_a=20.2 kj/mol) as compared with that of the pristine one(E_a=24.3 kj/mol).Detailed dynamics heterogeneity was obtained by high-field Nmr with site-specific *** quadrupole-echo ~2H-Nmr was adopted to elucidate the dynamics heterogeneity of the vinyl alcohol(VA) units,where only the hydroxyl group of VA is *** ~1H-^(13)c WIsE Nmr spectra show that there is not much difference in the mobility of the VB unit in PVB with and without plasticizer,whereas the glass transition temperature differed by approximately 53℃.This is further supported by Torchia's T_1 relaxation *** origin of such an unusual phenomenon is attributed to the critical role of the remaining VA(~22%) in the soft domain,where the VA units locally aggregate through hydrogen ***,the existence of a mobility gradient in the VB unit has been ***,the mobility difference for VB with different stereo-geometry(meso or racemic conformation) is observed for the first *** indicates the importance of modulating the ratio of meso over racemic VB for controlling the macroscopic perfo rmance of PVB.

Trigeminal-specific stimulants have been shown to activate different receptors preferentially and this likely accounts for variation in sensory *** is unclear whether trigeminal sensitivity is similar across different transient receptor potential(TrP)receptors or if dysfunction of different receptors results in differing patient ***,a prospective cohort study was conducted,consisting of trigeminal lateralization testing with three different stimulants(eucalyptol,isothiocyanate,acetic acid),olfaction testing with sniffin'sticks,and measurement of various patient‐reported outcome measures(PrOms).A total of 50 participants were enrolled across the olfactory *** TDI score was 27.1±8.3(range 7.0–39.5)with 38%normosmic and 62%*** trigeminal lateralization scores out of 20 in the overall cohort were 16.18(2.78)for eucalyptol,14.94(3.49)for mustard oil,and 15.28(3.68)for *** showed a significant correlation with threshold scores of sniffin'sticks.A significant correlation was found between acetic acid and various *** of the lateralization scores of the trigeminal stimulants correlated to each other significantly and there was no correlation to *** lack of correlation suggests that the measured sensitivity of one type of TrP receptor may not translate to similar sensitivity of the other *** investigations with TrPV1 and TrPA1 agonists are needed to corroborate our findings.
