Objective:To report clinical features and treatment of 10 cases of the upper urinary tract inverted ***:From 1995 to 2010 we had experience with 10 cases of inverted papilloma in the upper urinary *** age ranged from 61 to 73 years(mean 67).The site of development was the ureter in 6 cases and the renal pelvis in 4 cases.7 cases occurred in the left side and 3 cases in the right *** was performed in 6 *** ureterectomy was perfomed in 3 *** resection was performed in one ***:All tumors but 2 were solitary,ranging in size from 5 mm to 30 *** with transitional cell carcinoma was found in one ***-up ranged from 19 months to 120 months(mean 59 months).No recurrence was ever ***:Both extremely low incidence of recurrence and strikingly favorable prognosis suggest that inverted papilloma is a benign *** excision,if applicable,is considered adequate treatment when it is diagnosed according to strictly defined *** malignant potential of this lesion remains controversial,and close follow-up generally thought to be necessary.

p27 is a cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor that regulates the progression of cells from G1 to S phase of the cell cycle. Loss of p27 has been associated with disease progression and with an unfavourable outcome in prostate cancer. In this study, we investigated whether exogenous p27 expression in the human androgen-independent prostate cancer PC3 cell line had any effect on cell growth, and we studied the molecular mechanisms involved. p27 expression was restored in PC3 cells by plasmid delivery. Cell proliferation and apoptosis were assessed in PC3 cells transfected with p27. We also investigated the effects of p27 on the epidermal growth factor receptor （EGFR）/ phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase （PI3K）/Akt signalling pathway in PC3 cells. By restoring p27 expression in PC3 cells, we observed that p27 reduced proliferation and induced arrest in G0/G1 phase. Moreover, p27-transfected PC3 cells underwent apoptosis, as shown by flow cytometric analysis and western blotting analysis of Bcl-2, Bax, Bad, caspase-3 and poly（ADP-ribose）polymerase expression. Furthermore, the p27-induced anti-tumour action corre- lated with inhibition of the EGFR/PI3K/Akt signalling pathway, as confirmed by western blotting analysis and densitometry of EGFR, PI3K （p85）, Akt and p-Akts473 expression. Our results suggest that exogenous expression of p27 inhibits the proliferation of PC3 cells through induction of G1 arrest and apoptosis, and this process correlates with inhibition of the EGFR/PI3K/Akt signalling pathway.

Aim： To explore whether the anti-tumor action of 17β-estradiol is enhanced by re-expression of the homeodomain transcription factor Nkx3.1 in PC3 human prostate cancer cells. Methods： PC3 cells were stably transfected with pcDNA3.1-Nkx3.1-His vector, which carries a full-length cDNA of human Nkx3.1. The PC3 cells stably transfected with vector pcDNA3.1 were set as a control. The expression of Nkx3.1 protein in the cells was confirmed by Western blot analysis. The effect of Nkx3.1 on cell proliferation of PC3 cells was examined with MTT assay. The antiproliferative and apoptotic effects of 17β-estradiol alone or in combination with Nkx3.1 were estimated on PC3 cells by using MTT growth tests and flow cytometric analyses. The expression of apoptosis-related proteins was analyzed using Western blotting. Results： The plasmid carrying Nkx3.1 gene induced high expression of Nkx3.1 protein in PC3 cells. The re-expression of exogenous Nkx3.1 did not cause a significant reduction in cellular proliferation, whereas the expression of Nkx3.1 enhanced the 17β-estradiol anti-proliferative effect in PC3 cells. Nkx3.1 expres- sion promoted 17β-estradiol-induced apoptosis of PC3 cells, as shown by analysis of Bcl-2, Bax, Caspase-3 and poly （ADP-ribose） polymerase expression. Conclusion： The present study demonstrates that re-expression of Nkx3.1 enhances 17β-estradiol anti-tumor action in PC3 human prostate cancer cells. The in vitro study suggests that re- expression of Nkx3.1 is worthy of further consideration as an adjuvant treatment of androgen independent prostate cancer with estrogen anti-tumor therapies.

Sarcomatoid transitional cell carcinoma of the renal pelvis is a rare neoplasm with only 14 well-illustrated examples reported previously. Duplex kidney is the most common congenital abnormality of the urinary tract, with an incidence of around 2%. Neoplasia of the renal pelvis in duplex kidney is rare. We reported a case whose sarcomatoid carcinoma originated from the upper portion of the duplicated renal pelvis with hydronephrosis, and total nephroureterectomy with bladder cuff excision surgery of both renal units was carried out. Because of the rare nature of renal pelvic sarcomatoid carcinoma and its apparent lack of response to adjuvant therapy, it is essential to do early diagnosis and early radical surgery to improve survival. It is important to stress the need for frequent and diligent monitoring or treating complex duplex kidney with hydronephrosis of either moiety in case of a risk of havina neoplasias.

Testicular plasmacytoma is rarely reported. The diagnosis is mainly based on pathological examination. Orchiectomy, combined with chemotherapy and radiotherapy, is currently the main treatment strategy for testicular plasmacytoma. The prognosis of extramedullary plasmacytoma involving the testis is much better than multiple myeloma involving the testis. Herein we present a case of a 62-year-old man who was diagnosed with testicular plasmacytoma.

It's a challenge for detecting the therapeutic targets of a polypharmacological drug from variations in the responsed networks in thedfferentiated populations with complex diseases,as stable coronary heart ***,in an adaptive,31-center,randomized,double-blind trial invoving 920 patients with moderate symptomatic stable angina treated by 14-day danhong injection(DHI),a kind of polyphamacological drug with high quality control,or placebo(0.9%saline),with 76-day following-up,we firstly confrmed that DHl couldincrease the proportion of patients with clinically significant changes on angina-frequency assessed by Seattle Angina Questionnaire(ASAQ-AF220)(12.78%at Day 30,95%confidence interval[C]5.86-19.71%,P=0.0003,13.82%at Day 6C0,95%CI 6.82-20.82%,P=0.0001and 8.95%at Day 90,95%CI 2.06-15.85%,P=0.01).We also found that there were no significant differences in new-onset major vascularevents(P=0.8502)and serious adverse events(P=0.9105)between DHl and *** performing the RNA sequencing in 62 selectedpatients,we developed a systemic modular approach tp identfy differentilly expressed modules(DEMs)of DHI with the Z_(summay)valueless than 0 compared with the control group,calculated by weighted gene co-expression network analysis(WGCNA),and sketched out thebasic framework on a modular map with 25 functional modules targeted by ***,the effective therapeutic module(ETM),defined as the highest corelation value with the phenotype alteration(SAQ-AF,the change in SAQ-AF at Day 30 from baseline)calculatedby WGCNA,was identifed in the population with the best effect(ASAQ-AF240),which is related to anticoagulation and regulation ofcholesterol *** assessed the modular flexbility of this ETM using the global topological D value based on Euclidean distance,which is corelated with phenotype alteration(r^(2):0.8204,P=0.019)by linear *** study identified the ant-angina therapeuticmodule in the effective population treated by the multi-target

Background An important milestone in the area of urinary diversion was the advent of a series of orthotopic bladder substitution （OBS）. However, reconstruction of OBS by the traditional hand suture method （THSM） is a time-consuming process. Stapling techniques are considered to be inferior to hand-sewn methods. We report our experience and functional results in patients with W-ileal neobladder by a hand-assisted-drawing-needle running suture （HADNRS）. Methods Between April 1993 and December 2011, 347 patients （338 men and 9 women） aged 28-77 years （median age： 59 years） underwent radical cystectomy, followed by the creation of a modified W-ileal neobladder by HADNRS with a curved needle. A total of 347 （20 patients in 2003） were evaluated by urodynamic tests. Results The operative time ranged from 110 to 310 minutes （mean 148 minutes）, and the mean time of reconstruction by HADNRS, excluding ureterointestinal and ileouretral anastomosis, was （20.2±4.3） minutes. Histopathological analysis of removed specimens showed that 317 patients had transitional cell bladder carcinoma. Of these 317 patients, 19 also had squamous carcinoma and 13 had adenocarcinoma. Glandularis and prostate cancer occurred in 16 and 14 patients, respectively. Three patients （0.8%） had neobladder abdominal fistula. No other early complications or injury to the surgeon＇s hands occurred due to HADNRS. Of the 20 cases with urodynamic examinations in 2003, two suffered from daytime incontinence and six had nocturnal incontinence. The maximum capacity of the neobladder was （492.9±177.8） ml, and the maximum pressure within the reservoir at the end of filling was （32.1±8.6） *** Reconstruction of W-ileal neobladder by HADNRS is effective and economical.
