Interannual variability of the spring Wyrtki Jet

Features of the interannual variability of the spring Wyrtki Jet in the tropical Indian Ocean are revealed using observation data and model *** results show that the jet has signifi cant interannual variation,which has a signifi cant correlation with winter El Niño Modoki index(R=0.62).During spring after an El Niño(La Niña)Modoki event,the Wyrtki Jet has a positive(negative)anomaly,forced by a westerly(easterly)wind *** result of a linear-continuously stratifi ed model shows that the fi rst two baroclinic modes explain most of the interannual variability of the spring Wyrtki Jet(~70%)and the third to fi fth modes together account for approximately 30%.Surface wind anomalies in the tropical Indian Ocean are related to the Walker circulation anomaly associated with El Niño/La Niña *** interannual variability of the spring Wyrtki Jet has an evident impact on sea surface salinity transport before the onset phase of the summer monsoon in the Indian Ocean.

Construction of multi-enzyme complexes not only can help expand the understanding of biological mechanisms, but also holds great promise in biosynthesis, biosensing and biomedicine. Herein, a hybrid multi-enzyme system, CeO2/glucose oxidase(GOx) nanocomplex was developed via self-assembly and exhibited excellent catalytic activity toward cascade reactions. Compared to mixed GOx and CeO2, the nanocomplexes displayed enhanced efficiency, mainly attributed to the minimal diffusion of intermediate in the nanocomplexes system. Moreover, the nanocomplexes exhibited outstanding long-term stability and excellent recyclability. Benefiting from these merits, a highly sensitive and selective biosensor for colorimetric detection of glucose was constructed based on CeO2/GOx nanocomplexes. Such a self-assembled nanozyme complex offers a simple and efficient example to build spatially confined multi-enzyme systems to potentiate their applications in energy conversion,detoxification and bioanalysis.

Fluorescence enhancement in a DNA-dye system is favorable for sensitive and accurate DNA detection/ sensing *** this paper,we report that the fluorescence of the double-stranded DNA(dsDNA) and SYBR GreenⅠ(SG) system(dsDNA-SG) can be effectively enhanced by negatively charged magnetic iron oxide (Fe_2O_3@DMSA) and gold nanoparticles in suitable concentrations,but positively charged nanoparticles quench the *** of the Fe_2O_3@DMSA on the fluorescence intensities are investigated with dsDNA-SG of different lengths or *** results show that nanoparticles perform similarly in enhancing fluorescence intensity for several kinds of ***,the dsDNA concentration determines the fluorescence *** shows that fluorescence intensity of lower concentration dsDNA is enhanced remarkably in *** finding may be useful in sensitive biomolecular detection.

To investigate the affect of direct current electric field (DCEF) on the interfacial phase,in this paper,a hydrophobic ionic liquid (HIL)/water as liquid-liquid two-phase binary system is established by using the deioned water and l-butyl-3-methyl imidazolium hexafluorophosphate,and the topographies of the HIL nanodroplets and nanolayers in ambient water are observed by atomic force microscope (AFM).The results show the AFM exerting the DCEF can enhance the intersolubility of the HIL/water binary system and induce their interfacial phase transfer.

Li_(7)La_(3)Zr_(2)O_(12)(LLZO)is considered as a promising solid-state electrolyte due to its high ionic conductivity,wide electrochemical window,and excellent electrochemical ***,its application in solid-state lithium metal batteries(SSLMBs)is impeded by the growth of lithium dendrites in LLZO due to some reasons such as its high electronic *** this study,lithium fluoride(LiF)was introduced into Ta-doped LLZO(LLZTO)to modify its grain boundaries to enhance the performance of SSLMBs.A nanoscale LiF layer was uniformly coated on the LLZTO grains,creating a threedimensional continuous electron-blocking network at the grain *** from the electronic insulator LiF and the special structure of the modified LLZTO,the symmetric cells based on LLZO achieved a high critical current density(CCD)of 1.1 mA·cm^(-2)(in capacity-constant mode)and maintained stability over 2000 h at 0.3 mA·cm^(-2).Moreover,the full cells combined with a LiFePO_(4)(LFP)cathode,demonstrated excellent cycling performance,retaining 97.1% of capacity retention after 500 cycles at 0.5 ***,this work provides a facile and effective approach for preparing a modified electrolyte suitable for high-performance SSLMBs.

Non-equidistance DGM(1,1) Model Based on the Concave Sequence and Its Application to Predict the China’s Per Capita Natural Gas Consumption

Although the grey forecasting model has been successfully adopted in various fields and demonstrated promising results, the literatures show its performance could be further improved, such as for the DGM(1,1) model, based on a concave sequence, the modeling error will be larger. In this paper,firstly the definition of sequence convexity is given out, and it is proved that the output sequence of DGM(1,1) model is a convex sequence. Next, the residual change law of DGM(1,1) model based on the concave sequence is discussed, and the non-equidistance DGM(1,1) model is proposed. Finally, by introducing the symmetry transformation, a concave sequence is transformed into a convex sequence, called the symmetric sequence of the concave sequence, and then construct the non-equidistance DGM(1,1)model based on the convex sequence. The example results show that the novel method is more accurate than the direct modeling for a concave sequence.

Various composite materials are now used as artificial tissue substitutes, and are defining new frontiers in tissue engineering. In the present study, composite membranes based on silk fibroin （SF） were fabricated to form a synthetic periosteum. The fabricated membranes were physicochemically characterized by their morphology, porosity, biocompatibility, biodegradability, chemical structure, and mechanical properties. Following the addition of polycaprolactone （PCL） to the silk fibers, there was a 3-5-fold increase in the elongation at break compared with the pure silk membranes, and surface wettability was retained. The degradation time of the SF within the membranes was also prolonged by adding PCL. Compared with pure PCL membranes or plastic culture plates, the SF-based membranes significantly enhanced the cellular viability and osteogenic differentiation capability of MC3T3-E1 cells. Higher expression levels of osteogenic differentiation markers （runt-related transcription factor 2 （RUNX2）, alkaline phosphatase （ALP）, and osteopontin （OP）） further supported the use of the SF component in bone-related applications. A non-rigid internal fixation （non-RIF） fracture model that healed via endochondral bone formation was created, and fracture callus samples were collected to perform micro-computed tomography, histolog~ and immunohistochemistry analyses at 8 weeks after surgery. A smaller bone volume accompanied by a mineralized bony callus was observed in SF/PCL membrane-treated rats. Immunohistochemistry also indicated that the SF/PCL membrane-treated rats exhibited increased osteocalcin expression but reduced collagen type X expression. These findings could lead to an alternative strategy for treating comminuted fractures with enhanced intramembranous ossification and reduced endochondral ossification.
