MXene Hybridized Polymer with Enhanced Electromagnetic Energy Harvest for Sensitized Microwave Actuation and Self‑Powered Motion Sensing

Polymeric microwave actuators combining tissue-like softness with programmablemicrowave-responsive deformation hold great promise for mobile intelligentdevices and bionic soft robots. However, their application is challenged by restricted electromagneticsensitivity and intricate sensing coupling. In this study, a sensitized polymericmicrowave actuator is fabricated by hybridizing a liquid crystal polymer with Ti3C2Tx(MXene). Compared to the initial counterpart, the hybrid polymer exhibits unique spacechargepolarization and interfacial polarization, resulting in significant improvements of230% in the dielectric loss factor and 830% in the apparent efficiency of electromagneticenergy harvest. The sensitized microwave actuation demonstrates as the shortenedresponse time of nearly 10 s, which is merely 13% of that for the initial shape memory polymer. Moreover, the ultra-low content of MXene (upto 0.15 wt%) benefits for maintaining the actuation potential of the hybrid polymer. An innovative self-powered sensing prototype that combinesdriving and piezoelectric polymers is developed, which generates real-time electric potential feedback (open-circuit potential of ~ 3 mV) duringactuation. The polarization-dominant energy conversion mechanism observed in the MXene-polymer hybrid structure furnishes a new approachfor developing efficient electromagnetic dissipative structures and shows potential for advancing polymeric electromagnetic intelligent devices.

The effects of annealing and irradiation on the evolution of Cu clusters in a-Fe are investigated using object kinetic Monte Carlo *** our model,vacancies act as carriers for chemical species via thermally activated diffusion jumps,thus playing an important role in solute *** the end of the Cu cluster evolution,the simulations of the average radius and number density of the clusters are consistent with the experimental data,which indicates that the proposed simulation model is applicable and *** the simulation of the annealing process,it is found that the evolution of the cluster size roughly follows the 1/2 time power law with the increase in radius during the growth phase and the 1/3 time power law during the coarsening *** addition,the main difference between neutron and ion irradiation is the growth and evolution process of the copper-vacancy *** aggregation of vacancy clusters under ion irradiation suppresses the migration and coarsening of the clusters,which ultimately leads to a smaller average radius of the copper *** proposed simulation model can supplement experimental analyses and provide a detailed evolution mechanism of vacancy-enhanced precipitation,thereby providing a foundation for other elemental precipitation research.

On the Thermodynamic Aspect of Interaction Between Dislocations and Highly Mobile Interstitial Solute:With Special Focus on Recent Progress in Pd–H System:A Review

It is well known that, in kinetics, the interaction between dislocations and interstitial solute normally exerts strong solute drag effect on dislocations, leading to strong solution hardening of the metals. However, due to the low mobility of interstitial solute in many metals, thermodynamic aspect of the interaction between dislocations and interstitial solute is often unobservable and omitted. It will be shown in this article by reviewing the H-induced behaviors in metal-H systems, especially the recent progress in Pd-H system that, when the interstitial solute atoms are highly mobile and able to collect in the vicinity of mobile dislocations easily, the scenario will be remarkably different. The interaction between dislocations and these highly mobile interstitial solute atoms, in thermodynamics, will reduce the line energy of dislo- cations and will facilitate the generation of dislocations, leading to an increase in dislocation density and an enhanced strain hardening of metals upon plastic deformation.

Toward high performance microwave absorber by implanting La_(0.8)CoO_(3)nanoparticles on rGO

The advent of“intelligent era”brings our life more convenience,but the electromagnetic radiation sur-rounding us not only greatly threatens human health,also makes information leakage and hidden trouble to national defense ***,it is very urgent to develop novel electromagnetic wave absorption materials with lightweight,strong absorption,tunable absorption frequency and broad band ***,a novel electromagnetic wave absorber is obtained by constructing La_(0.8)CoO_(3)-rGO nanocompos-ite,where La_(0.8)CoO_(3)nanoparticles are anchored on graphene nanosheets by the electrostatic interaction between GO and La_(0.8)CoO_(3).The effect of hybridization ratio of La_(0.8)CoO_(3)and rGO on microwave ab-sorption properties is carefully *** optimal reflection loss of La_(0.8)CoO_(3)-rGO nanocomposite can reach-62.34 dB with the maximum effective bandwidth of 6.08 GHz,presenting 48.78%and 245.45%increment compared to bare La_(0.8)CoO_(3)nanoparticles,*** effective absorption bandwidth covers a broad electromagnetic wave absorption band from Ku band to the C band by tailoring thickness of the absorbers from 2.4 mm to 4.4 *** fascinating electromagnetic wave absorption performance is attributed to the synergy effect of La_(0.8)CoO_(3)and rGO,which integrates magnetic and dielectric loss caused by resonance,conductance,relaxation,and scattering *** result confirms that La_(0.8)CoO_(3)-rGO nanocomposite is potential candidates toward high-efficiency microwave absorbers and provides a valuable pathway for designing high-performance microwave attenuation materials in the future.

Multifunctional phase change composites based on biomass/MXenederived hybrid scaffolds for excellent electromagnetic interference shielding and superior solar/electro-thermal energy storage

With the rapid development of new generations of miniaturized,integrated,and high-power electronic devices,it is particularly important to develop advanced composite materials with efficient thermal management capability and excellent electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding ***,an innovative biomass/MXene-derived conductive hybrid scaffold,cellulose nanocrystal(CNC)-konjac glucomannan(KGM)/MXene(CKM),was prepared by freeze-drying and thermal annealing,and then paraffin wax(PW)was encapsulated in CKM using vacuum impregnation method to obtain CNC-KGM/MXene@PW phase change composites(CKMPCCs).The results show that the obtained CKMPCCs possess considerable reusable stabilities,excellent EMI shielding properties,and thermal energy management *** them,the CKMPCC-6 with 2.3 wt.%MXene exhibits excellent solar-thermal and electro-thermal conversion *** addition,the EMI shielding effectiveness value is as high as 45.0 dB at 8.2–12.4 GHz and the corresponding melting enthalpy value is 215.7 J/g(relative enthalpy efficiency of 99.9%).In conclusion,the synthesized multifunctional phase change composites provide great potential for integrating outstanding EMI shielding and advanced thermal energy management applications.

A review of object representation based on local features

Object representation based on local features is a topical subject in the domain of image understanding and computer vision. We discuss the defects of global features in present methods and the advantages of local features in object recognition, and briefly explore state-of-the-art recognition methods using local features, especially the main approaches of local feature extraction and object representation. To clearly explain these methods, the problem of local feature extraction is divided into feature region detection, feature region description, and feature space optimization. The main components and merits of these steps are presented. Technologies for object presentation are classified into three types: vector space, sliding window, and structure relationship models. Future development trends are discussed briefly.

Prediction of Suitable Habitat for Lycophytes and Ferns in Northeast China: A Case Study on Athyrium brevifrons

Suitable habitat is vital for the survival and restoration of a *** the suitable habitat range for lycophytes and ferns is prerequisite for effective species resource conservation and recovery *** this study, we took Athyrium brevifrons as an example, predicted its suitable habitat using a Maxent model with 67 occurrence data and nine environmental variables in Northeast *** area under the curve(AUC) value of independent test data, as well as the comparison with specimen county areal distribution of *** exhibited excellent predictive *** type of environmental variables showed that precipitation contributed the most to the distribution prediction, followed by temperature and *** contribution and permutation importance both indicated that precipitation of driest quarter(Bio17) was the key factor in determining the natural distribution of ***, the reason could be proved by the fern gametophyte *** analysis of high habitat suitability areas also showed the habitat preference of ***: comparatively more precipitation and less fluctuation in the driest *** Mountains, covering almost all the high and medium habitat suitability areas, provide the best ecological conditions for the survival of ***, and should be considered as priority areas for protection and restoration of the wild *** potential habitat suitability distribution map could provide a reference for the sustainable development and utilisation of *** resource, and Maxent modelling could be valuable for conservation management planning for lycophytes and ferns in Northeast China.
