To support semantic inter-operability between the biomedical information systems, it is necessary to determine the correspondences between the heterogeneous biomedical concepts, which is commonly known as biomedical ontology matching. Biomedical concepts are usually complex and ambiguous, which makes matching biomedical ontologies a challenge. Since none of the similarity measures can distinguish the heterogeneous biomedical concepts in any context independently, usually several similarity measures are applied together to determine the biomedical concepts mappings. However, the ignorance of the effects brought about by different biomedical concept mapping’s preference on the similarity measures significantly reduces the alignment’s quality. In this study, a non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA)-III-based biomedical ontology matching technique is proposed to effectively match the biomedical ontologies, which first utilises an ontology partitioning technique to transform the large-scale biomedical ontology matching problem into several ontology segment-matching problems, and then uses NSGA-III to determine the optimal alignment without tuning the aggregating weights. The experiment is conducted on the anatomy track and large biomedic ontologies track which are provided by the Ontology Alignment Evaluation Initiative (OAEI), and the comparisons with OAEI’s participants show the effectiveness of the authors’ approach.

Rock Breaking Performance of a Pick Assisted by High-pressure Water Jet under Different Configuration Modes

In the process of rock breaking, the conical pick bears great cutting force and wear, as a result, high-pressure water jet technology is used to assist with cutting. However, the effect of the water jet position has not been studied for rock breaking using a pick. Therefore, the models of rock breaking with different configuration modes of the water jet are established based on SPH combined with FEM. The effect of the water jet pressure, distance between the jet and the pick bit, and cutting depth on the rock breaking performance as well as a comparison of the tension and compression stress are studied via simulation; the simulation results are verified by experiments. The numerical and experimental results indicate that the decrease in the rates of the pick force obviously increases from 25 MPa to 40 MPa, but slowly after 40 MPa, and the optimal distance between the jet and the pick bit is 2 mm under the JFP and JSP modes. The JCP mode is proved the best, followed by the modes of JRP and JFP, and the worst mode is JSP. The decrease in the rates of the pick force of the JCP, JRP, JFP, and JSP modes are up to 30.96%, 28.96%, 33.46%, 28.17%, and 25.42%, respectively, in experiment. Moreover, the JSP mode can be regarded as a special JFP model when the distance between the pick-tip and the jet impact point is 0 mm. This paper has a dominant capability in introducing new numerical and experimental method for the study of rock breaking assisted by water jet and electing the best water jet position from four different configuration modes.

The temperature dependent energy and corresponding internal pressure of the hadron are obtained by taking Fermi weighted sums over internal discrete energy *** find that beyond the critical temperature,the solution of the hadron radius determined from the balance relation between the internal and external pressures of the hadron disappears,which shows that the quark deconfinement transition has *** addition,it is shown that the heat bath plays role in delaying the deconfinement process.

We investigated experimentally the spectra of MBSL in sodium chloride water solution with krypton as dissolved gas. We observed and compared the spectra of hydroxyl ion at 310 nm and that of sodium atom at 589 nm. It has been found that under the same experimental condition, the intensity of sodium atom spectra is obviously higher than that of the hydroxyl ion spectra, and is more sensitive to the experimental condition. The krypton content, the concentration of sodium chloride solution, and the driving sound pressure obviously affect the spectra intensity in certain range.

The repair of vascularized bone defects represents a significantly clinical challenge, and vascular regeneration is one of the necessary factors to promote bone tissue regeneration. To effectively repair large bone defects, new bone tissue must regenerate with a rich vascular network. Therefore, the development of biomaterials that can promote the regeneration of vascularized bone tissue is currently receiving attention from researchers. In this study, Li–Ca–Si bioceramics(LCS) containing Li, Ca, and Si elements was developed, then LCS was compounded with PEEK to prepare PEEK+10% LCS, PEEK+20% LCS, PEEK+30% LCS, and the effect of LCS-PEEK composite biomaterials on the proliferation and angiogenic ability of human umbilical vascular endothelial cells(HUVECs)further explored by Cell Counting Kit-8(CCK-8), scanning electron microscope(SEM), quantitative real-time PCR(QPCR), Western Blotting and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). The results showed that HUVECs inoculated on 30%LCS + PEEK material exhibited the best proliferation ability. And the adhesion ability of endothelial cells on PEEK gradually increased with the increase of LCS contents. Furthermore, the angiogenic ability of HUVECs on LCS-PEEK composites was examined using QPCR and Western blotting, and the results showed that the expression of angiogenic-related genes and proteins of HUVECs on PEEK composites gradually increased with increasing LCS concentration. These results demonstrated that the angiogenic ability of HUVECs was effectively stimulated by LCS-modified PEEK materials. The present results indicate that the PEEK material can be modified with bioceramics to promote angiogenesis, and this study lay the foundation for the subsequent development of scaffolds that promote vascularized bone tissue regeneration.

Trichomes, small protrusions on the surface of many plant species, can produce and store various secondary metabolic products. Artemisinin, the most famous and potent medicine for malaria, is synthesized, stored, and secreted by Artemisia annua trichomes. However, the molecular basis regulating the biosynthesis of artemisinin and the development of trichomes in A. annua remains poorly understood. Here, we report that an AP2 transcription factor, TRICHOME AND ARTEMISININ REGULATOR 1 （TAR1）, plays crucial roles in regulating the development of trichomes and the biosynthesis of artemisinin in A. annua. TAR1, which encodes a protein specially located in the nucleus, is mainly expressed in young leaves, flower buds, and some trichomes. In TAR1-RNAi lines, the morphology of trichomes and the composition of cuticular wax were altered, and the artemisinin content was dramatically reduced, which could be significantly increased by TAR1 oeverexpression. Expression levels of several key genes that are involved in artemisinin biosynthesis were altered when TAR1 was silenced or overexpressed. By the electrophoretic mobility shift, yeast one-hybrid and transient transformation β-glucuronidase assays, we showed that ADS and CYP71AV1, two key genes in the biosynthesis pathway of artemisinin, are likely the direct targets of TAR1. Taken together, our results indicate that TAR1 is a key component of the molecular network regulating trichome development and artemisinin biosynthesis in A. annua.

Study on smoke propagation in tunnel construction of a hydropower station: A full-scale fire experiment

In this study,full-scale fire experiments were conducted in a hydropower station to investigate smoke propagation during tunnel *** flame height,smoke temperature and stratification,smoke descent and spread velocity were analyzed via measurements and on-site *** initial combustion stage was largely affected by ignition source during tunnel construction for diesel pool fire,and the average flame height in the fully developed stage could reach 1.4-2.1 m in experimental fire *** gradient of the smoke temperature evolution near the fire was the opposite for the upstream and downstream *** longitudinal temperature distribution was concentrated in a small range at the heights of the smoke layer,and gradually decreased by air entrainment as the height decreased,while further increasing in the lower half of the tunnel height in the near-fire region under heat radiation from the fire ***,distinct and stable smoke stratification formed during the fully developed combustion stage,and the smoke layer interface was at approximately half the tunnel *** descent was aggravated in the decay stage of combustion,and the fire risk remained high after the fully developed *** smoke front spread velocity was empirically determined for the full-scale tunnel fire *** from full-scale experiments can support smoke control design and on-site fire emergency response plans for hydropower stations.

Lignans are a powerful weapon for plants to resist stresses and have diverse bioactive functions to protect human *** the mechanisms of stereoselective biosynthesis and response to stresses of lignans is important for the guidance of plant ***,we identified the complete pathway to stereoselectively synthesize antiviral(-)-lariciresinol glucosides in Isatis indigotica roots,which consists of three-step sequential stereoselective enzymes DIR1/2,PLR,and ***1 was further identified as the key gene in respoJanuary 2024nse to stresses and was able to trigger stress defenses by mediating the elevation in lignan ***,the phytohormone-responsive ERF transcription factor LTF1 colocalized with DIR1 in the cell periphery of the vascular regions in mature roots and helped resist biotic and abiotic stresses by directly regulating the expression of *** systematic results suggest that DIR1 as the first common step of the lignan pathway cooperates with PLR and UGT71B2 to stereoselectively synthesize(-)-lariciresinol derived antiviral lignans in *** roots and is also a part of the LTF1-mediated regulatory network to resist *** conclusion,the LTF1-DIR1 module is an ideal engineering target to improve plant Defenses while increasing the content of valuable lignans in plants.
