Evidence indicates that lung cancer development is a complex process that involves interactions between tumor cells,stromal fibroblasts,and immune ***-infiltrating immune cells play a significant role in the promotion or inhibition of tumor *** an integral component of the tumor microenvironment,tumor-infiltrating B lymphocytes(TIBs)exist in all stages of cancer and play important roles in shaping tumor ***,we review recent clinical and preclinical studies that outline the role of TIBs in lung cancer development,assess their prognostic significance,and explore the potential benefit of B cell-based immunotherapy for lung cancer treatment.

A series of Cu-23Zn-10Al (at pet) alloy specimens subjected to different heat-treatment processes have been studied by means of Doppler broadening technique of positron annihilation combined with mechanical test. Results show that the mechanism of quenched-in vacancies, instead of the other suggested ones, plays a dominant role in thermoelastic martensite stabilization of Cu-based shape memory alloy. Knowing the character of the movement of quenched-in vacancies and eliminating them as rapidly as possible are the basis for further optimizing heat-treatment process to obtain desired shape memory performance.

The static adsorption of xenon on active carbon fiber (ACF) at 257 K was measured with ASAP2010 specific surface area and pore diameter distribution instrument by changing the working gas from nitrogen to xenon. Compared with grain activated carbon (GAC), the results were as follows: (1) The adsorption performance of Viscose-based ACF (VACF-As) was the best among all absorbents tested. VACF-A3 was the superior xenon absorbent. The performance of pitch-based ACF (PACF-Cs) approached that of GAC, (2) Due to the difference of aperture distribution, the adsorption performances of ACF with different radics were different under the same experiment conditions even though the specific surface area was similar, (3) There were some differences of adsorptive capacity among ACF absorbents which had the same radic, however there was not definite relationship between their specific surface area and adsorptive capacity, (4) The adsorption of xenon on all kinds of ACF agrees with Langmuir equation, (5) The adsorptive curves can be fitted with a binomial equation.

An increased risk of B cell lymphomas in patients with myeloproliferative neoplasm(MPN)treated with Janus kinase(JAK)inhibitors has recently been explored.1–3 In light of contradictory results,it is highly important to assess whether JAK inhibitors might be associated with a higher risk of lymphoma,notably in patients with pre-existing B cell clones that can escape immunosurveillance after exposure to JAK *** situation is very similar to what is observed in patients with autoimmune diseases,especially rheumatoid arthritis(RA).B cell clones are present in patients with RA,and dominant BCR clones in the peripheral blood predict the onset of the disease in at-risk individuals.

This paper demonstrates electrical detection of single strand deoxyribonucleic acid (ssDNA) conjugation by AlGaN/GaN hetero-structure field effect transistor (HFET) biological sensors. The probe ssDNA molecules are modified by thiol groups. The immobilization of probe molecules is achieved by S-Au bonding on a thin layer of gold film in the sensing area. The immobilization and hybridization process are firstly implemented on Si surfaces and checked by fluorescent and atomic force microscopy (AFM) imaging. The hybridization process is monitored on AlGaN/GaN HFETs. Time-dependent current change is observed when a matched ssDNA solution is applied, while no response is observed for a mismatched ssDNA sequence. The DNA hybridization process is dominated by the conjugation between matched ssDNA sequences in the first few tens of seconds. After that, the hybridization process is dominated by mass transfer processes and saturation of the immobilized probe ssDNA molecules.

Cooperation is ubiquitous in biological sys- tems. However, if natural selection favors traits that confer an advantage to one individual over another, then helping others would be paradoxical. Nevertheless, cooperation persists and is critical in maintaining homeostasis in systems ranging from populations of bacteria to groupings of mammals. Developing an understanding of the dynamics and mechanisms by which cooperation operates is critical in understanding ecological and evolutionary relationships. Over the past decade, synthetic biology has emerged as a powerful tool to study social dynamics. By engineering rationally controlled and modulatable beha- vior into microbes, we have increased our overall under- standing of how cooperation enhances, or conversely constrains, populations. Furthermore, it has increased our understanding of how cooperation is maintained within populations, which may provide a useful framework to influence populations by altering cooperation. As many bacterial pathogens require cooperation to infect the host and survive, the principles developed using synthetic biology offer promise of developing novel tools and strategies to treat infections, which may reduce the use of antimicrobial agents. Overall, the use of engineered cooperative microbes has allowed the field to verify existing, and develop novel, theories that may govern cooperative behaviors at all levels of biology.
