We studied the architecture of embedded computing systems from the viewpoint of power consumption in memory systems and used a selective-code-compression (SCC) approach to realize our *** on the LZW (Lempel-Ziv-Welch) compression algorithm,we propose a novel cost effective compression and decompression *** goal of our study was to develop a new SCC approach with an extended decision policy based on the prediction of power *** decompression method had to be easily implemented in hardware and to collaborate with the embedded *** hardware implementation of our decompression engine uses the TSMC 0.18μm-2p6m model and its cell-based *** calculate power consumption more accurately,we used a static analysis method to estimate the power overhead of the decompression *** also used variable sized branch blocks and considered several features of very long instruction word (VLIW) processors for our compression,including the instruction level parallelism (ILP) technique and the scheduling of *** code-compression methods are not limited to VLIW machines,and can be applied to other kinds of reduced instruction set computer (RISC) architecture.

Two types of metal-loaded visible-light-driven photocatalysts,Mo-BiVO4and Ag-BiVO4,were synthesized by wet impregnation *** poperties were characterized by UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction,field emission scanning electron microscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and low temperature nitrogen *** activity of the obtained materials was investigated through degrading methylene blue(MB) solution under visible-light *** results reveal that both metal loaded-BiVO4catalysts have monoclinic scheelite *** and Ag exist as oxides on the surface of the *** changes of absorption in visible-light region,band gap(E g) and specific surface area(A BET) caused by loading Ag are more obvious than those caused by loading *** the isoelectric point of Ag-BiVO4decreases less than that of *** catalysts show higher photocatalytic activity than pure BiVO4,resulting in the significantly improved efficiency of degradation of *** the degradation efficiency of these two metal-loaded BiVO4photocatalysts is similar to each ***,mechanisms of such enhancement are *** decrease of isoelectric point helps Mo-BiVO4improve the degradation *** for Ag-BiVO4,the augmentation of absorption in visible-light region as well as the abatement of E g plays more important roles.

Visual inspection is commonly adopted for building operation,maintenance,and *** durability and defects of components or materials in buildings can be quickly assessed through visual ***,implementations of visual inspection are substantially time-consuming,labor-intensive,and error-prone because useful auxiliary tools that can instantly highlight defects or damage locations from images are not ***,an advanced building inspection framework is developed and implemented with augmented reality(AR)and real-time damage detection in this *** this framework,engineers should walk around and film every corner of the building interior to generate the three-dimensional(3D)environment through ***,a trained YOLOv5 model real-time detects defects during this process,even in a large-scale field,and the defect locations indicating the detected defects are then marked in this 3D *** defects areas can be measured with centimeter-level accuracy with the light detection and ranging(LiDAR)on *** required damage information,including defect positions and sizes,is collected at a time and can be rendered in the 2D and 3D ***,this visual inspection can be efficiently conducted,and the previously generated environment can also be loaded to re-localize existing defect marks for future maintenance and change ***,the proposed framework is also implemented and verified by an underground parking lot in a building to detect and quantify surface defects on concrete *** seen in the results,the conventional building inspection is significantly improved with the aid of the proposed framework in terms of damage localization,damage quantification,and inspection efficiency.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the impact and potential prognostic roles of the pre- and post-treatment Glasgow prognostic score (GPS) and the change thereof in patients with advanced head and neck cancer undergoing concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT). Methods: We collected GPS and clinicopathological data of 139 stage III, IVA, and IVB head and neck cancer patients who underwent CCRT between 2008 and 2011. Their GPSs pre- and post-CCRT and the change thereof were analyzed for correlations with recurrence and survival. Results: The GPS changed in 72 (51.8%) patients, with worse scores observed post-CCRT in 65 (90.3%) of the GPS changed patients. Patients in the improved GPS group showed a tendency toward better survival. From the multivariate analysis, the post-CCRT GPS level was an independent prognostic factor in addition to tumor stage. Conclusions: After CCRT, a high GPS was revealed to be an important predictor of survival for advanced head and neck cancer.

The present study considers wave scattering phenomena around a cylindrical island mounted on a general axisymmetric topography or a general submerged truncated axi-symmetric shoal based on the mild-slope equation. The method of separation of variables and Taylor series expansion are invoked to find the approximate solution to the variable water depth region which varies proportionally to an arbitrary power of radial distance. Validations against the solutions for the combined wave refraction and diffraction around a cylindrical island mounted on a paraboloidal shoal of Liu et al. in 2004 and the scattering and trapping of wave energy by a submerged truncated paraboloidal shoal of Lin and Liu in 2007 show excellent agreements as the power of radial distance being equal to two. For the solutions of wave refraction and diffraction around a cylindrical island mounted on a shoal with depth proportionally to an arbitrary power of radial distance, good agreements with Zhai et al.’s(2013) solutions are demonstrated. Since the robustness of the assumption of a general axi-symmetric geometry based on an arbitrary power variability of the radial distance, the present solution can be very conveniently employed to investigate the effects of bottom topography on wave scattering and trapping patterns.

The Aeromonas species, belonging to the family Aeromonadaceae, are opportunistic pathogens found in humans with an incidence rate of 76 cases per million inhabitants in Southern *** incidence of Aeromonas septicemia is relatively low, accounting for less than 15% of *** diagnosed with Aeromonas hydrophila bacteremia who were presented with skin blisters and septic shock have been reported to have a mortality rate of 100%.Aeromonas infection must be considered in the differential diagnosis of gangrene-like tissue damage or skin lesions in patients with end-stage renal disease, due to the potential sources of infections.A 49-year-old Taiwan Residents diabetic woman with end-stage renal disease had underwent regular *** was referred to our hospital due to a one-day course of fever, dyspnea, hypotension, and fulminant hemorrhagic blisters covering her whole body.A physical examination uncovered multiple hemorrhagic blisters, along with a ruptured blister over the lower left *** tests revealed an elevation of liver enzymes, impaired renal function, lactatemia, and high anion-gap metabolic *** of both blood and hemorrhagic blister fluid grew Aeromonas ***, she experienced persistent shock despite aggressive intravenous fluid, empiric antibiotics, and inotropic agents with norepinephrine and *** diagnosis and prompt management using intravenous fluids, antibiotics and surgical debridement is recommended in order to improve a patient's survival rate.

Recognition of Film Type Using HSV Features on Deep-Learning Neural Networks

The number of films is numerous and the film contents are complex over the Internet and multimedia sources. It is time consuming for a viewer to select a favorite film. This paper presents an automatic recognition system of film types. Initially, a film is firstly sampled as frame sequences. The color space, including hue, saturation,and brightness value(HSV), is analyzed for each sampled frame by computing the deviation and mean of HSV for each film. These features are utilized as inputs to a deep-learning neural network(DNN) for the recognition of film types. One hundred films are utilized to train and validate the model parameters of DNN. In the testing phase, a film is recognized as one of the five categories, including action, comedy, horror thriller, romance, and science fiction, by the trained DNN. The experimental results reveal that the film types can be effectively recognized by the proposed approach, enabling the viewer to select an interesting film accurately and quickly.

This paper investigates the jammerassisted multi-channel covert wireless communication(CWC)by exploiting the randomness of sub-channel selection to confuse the *** particular,we propose two sub-channel selection transmission schemes,named random sub-channel selection(RSS)scheme and maximum sub-channel selection(MSS)scheme,to enhance communication *** each proposed scheme,we first derive closed-form expressions of the transmission outage probability(TOP),the average effective rate,and the minimum average detection error probability(DEP).Then,the average effective covert rate(ECR)is maximized by jointly optimizing the transmit power at the transmitter and the number of *** results show that there is an optimal value of the number of sub-channels that maximizes the average *** also find that to achieve the maximum average ECR,a larger number of subchannels are needed facing a stricter covertness constraint.
