Improved Dual-image Quality with Reversible Data Hiding Using Translocation and Switching Strategy

Dual-image reversible data hiding(RDH)is a technique for hiding important messages.This technology can be used to safely deliver secret mes-sages to the recipient through dual images in an open network without being easily noticed.The recipient of the image must receive the two stego-images before the secret message can be completely retrieved.Imperceptibility is one of the main advantages of data hiding technology;to increase the imperceptibility,the quality requirements of the stego-images are relatively important.A dual ste-ganographic image RDH method,called a DS-CF scheme that can achieve a bet-ter steganographic image quality using the center folding(CF)strategy.In this paper,we developed a translocation and switching strategy(TaS)to shorten the distances between the stego-pixel coordinates and the cover pixel coordinates after information being hidden.Compared with the DS-CF scheme,our proposed DS-TaS scheme can effectively improve the quality of the steganographic images at the same level of embedding capability.The experimental results show that the PSNR of our DS-TaS scheme at k=1 was 55.66 dB,which is an increase of 1.5 dB,and is 51.43 dB for k=2,46.66 dB for k=3,and 40.91 dB for k=4.In addition,the PSNR values of the stego images was increased by 1.5,0.29,0.29,and 0.19 dB,respectively.This shows that our proposed dual-image RDH method can optimize the visual quality of the stego-images and is better than many other dual-image RDH techniques.

BACKGROUND Transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)is a recommended treatment for patients with intermediate stage hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)but with variable treatment outcomes.AIM To determine factors for predicting outcomes of TACE in patients with intermediate stage B HCC.METHODS Patients with Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer(BCLC)stage B HCC who underwent TACE as the primary treatment were enrolled at Taichung Veterans General Hospital from January 2005 to December 2009.Patients were assigned to either the objective responder(OR)group or the non-OR group according to mRECIST criteria.Clinical and radiological characteristics were compared between the 2 groups.The overall survival of enrolled subjects was analyzed.RESULTS In 128 enrolled patients,66(51.6%)were in the OR group and 62(48.4%)in the non-OR group.Compared with the non-OR group,the OR group had a significantly smaller HCC size(6.55 cm vs 9.50 cm,P=0.001)and was within the up-to-7 criteria(50%vs 26.7%,P=0.001).After multivariable analyses,these significant associations still existed.Overall survival rate of all the subjects averaged 20.65±13.26 mo.The survival rate at 1-year was 64.8%,2-year was 46.9%,and 3-year was 31.2%.For those patients with OR to TACE,smaller tumor size and within up-to-7 criteria were associated with significantly better overall survival.Those patients with subgroup B1 had the highest OR ratio(75%)and better overall survival(26.70±12.07 mo)after TACE.CONCLUSION BCLC stage B HCC patients with smaller tumor size or within up-to-7 criteria had better survival outcomes to TACE.BCLC stage B subgroup is useful to predict refractoriness to TACE.

In this paper,we propose and analyze a uniformly robust staggered DG method for the unsteady Darcy-Forchheimer-Brinkman problem.Our formulation is based on velocity gradient-velocity-pressure and the resulting scheme can be flexibly applied to fairly general polygonal meshes.We relax the tangential continuity for velocity,which is the key ingredi-ent in achieving the uniform robustness.We present well-posedness and error analysis for both the semi-discrete scheme and the fully discrete scheme,and the theories indicate that the error estimates for velocity are independent of pressure.Several numerical experiments are presented to confirm the theoretical findings.

Hepatic malignancy is a major indication for liver transplantation;however,post-tra ns plant cancer recurrence is an emerging clinical challenge affecting long-term outcomes.Pre-tra ns plant tumor biology,staging,and post-transplant immunosuppression regimens have been elucidated as risk factors for recurrent liver cancer.However,increasing evidence indicates that hepatic ischemia and reperfusion(IR)injury to allografts are crucial to providing a favorable immunologic microenvironment for cancer cell invasiveness and metastasis after liver transplantation.The association of severe graft injury in marginal grafts,such as small-for-size or fatty grafts,with lower recurrence-free survival rates in living donor liver transplantations,substantiates the correlation between hepatic IR injury and cancer recurrence.IR has been demonstrated to trigger intrahepatic immunological microenvironment remodeling,including pro-inflammatory responses exacerbating graft injury and anti-inflammatory responses promoting tissue repair.However,the role of regional immunity in post-transplant cancer recurrence is not comprehensively understood.This review describes the up-to-date evidence of the intrahepatic humoral microenvironment and regional regulatory immunological microenvironment induced by IR injury,as well as their roles in cancer recurrence after liver transplantation.A comprehensive understanding of regional immunity will provide novel precise diagnostic,therapeutic,and prognostic strategies for post-transplant cancer recurrence.

Background Optimising the immunogenicity of COVID-19 vaccines to improve their protection against disease is necessary.Fractional dosing by intradermal(ID)administration has been shown to be equally immunogenic as intramuscular(IM)administration for several vaccines,but the immunogenicity of ID inactivated whole severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)at the full dose is unknown.This study(NCT04800133)investigated the superiority of antibody and T-cell responses of full-dose CoronaVac by ID over IM administration in adolescents.Methods Participants aged 11–17 years received two doses of IM or ID vaccine,followed by the 3rd dose 13–42 days later.Humoral and cellular immunogenicity outcomes were measured post-dose 2(IM-CC versus ID-CC)and post-dose 3(IMCCC versus ID-CCC).Doses 2 and 3 were administered to 173 and 104 adolescents,respectively.Results Spike protein(S)immunoglobulin G(IgG),S-receptor-binding domain(RBD)IgG,S IgG Fcγreceptor IIIa(FcγRIIIa)-binding,SNM[sum of individual(S),nucleocapsid protein(N),and membrane protein(M)peptide pool]-specific interleukin-2(IL-2)+CD4+,SNM-specific IL-2+CD8+,S-specific IL-2+CD8+,N-specific IL-2+CD4+,N-specific IL-2+CD8+and M-specific IL-2+CD4+responses fulfilled the superior and non-inferior criteria for ID-CC compared to IM-CC,whereas IgG avidity was inferior.For ID-CCC,S-RBD IgG,surrogate virus neutralisation test,90%plaque reduction neutralisation titre(PRNT90),PRNT50,S IgG avidity,S IgG FcγRIIIa-binding,M-specific IL-2+CD4+,interferon-γ+CD8+and IL-2+CD8+responses were superior and non-inferior to IM-CCC.The estimated vaccine efficacies were 49%,52%,66%and 79%for IM-CC,ID-CC,IM-CCC and ID-CCC,respectively.The ID groups reported more local,mild adverse reactions.Conclusion This is the first study to demonstrate superior antibody and M-specific T-cell responses by ID inactivated SARSCoV-2 vaccination and serves as the basis for future research to improve the immunogenicity of inactivated vaccines.

The work investigates influence of the electrolyte conductivity on the onset of partial contact glow discharge electrolysis(CGDE)in a water electrolysis.Critical current density(CCD)and breakdown voltage were measured together with in situ observation of hydrogen bubble behavior,whose influence has not been focused on.For a fixed current during normal electrolysis,hydrogen coalescence adjacent to cathode surface was invigorated at a lower conductivity.Photographic analyses elucidated the hydrogen coalescence characteristics by quantifying size and population of detached hydrogen bubbles.The CCD increased about 104% within given range of conductivity(11.50-127.48 mS·cm^(-1))due to impaired bubble coalescence,which delays hydrogen film formation on the cathode.Meanwhile,decreasing trend of breakdown voltage was measured with increased conductivity showing maximum drop of 74%.It is concluded that onset of partial CGDE is directly affected by hydrodynamic bubble behaviors,whereas the electrolyte conductivity affects the bubble formation characteristics adjacent to cathode electrode.

The flexible product shape of additive manufacturing(AM)is attractive,but the process suffers from a lack of material property diversity due to a limited number of printable alloys and post-processing options.To overcome this problem,the AM of metal matrix composites(MMCs)is a highly suitable solution because the properties of MMC can be tailored using various reinforcements.Therefore,extensive research has been conducted on the AM of MMCs;however,the major huddle for this process has been the difficulties in preparing feedstock powder and operating the AM process.This study introduces an easily synthesizable core-shell composite powder,which was fabricated by a recently developed process called the SMART process.The core-shell powder has a novel morphology,consisting of a metal core and composite shell,distinguishing it from the powders used in conventional AM approaches.Inconel 625/TiCp composites were fabricated using the core-shell composite powder,with various fractions of TiCp up to 10 vol.%.Compared to additive-manufactured Inconel 625,the additive-manufactured MMCs showed enhanced strength with significantly fewer defects.The results of this study may accelerate the application of MMC fabricated by AM,which offers superior properties and reliability compared to casting and powder metallurgy due to the higher degree of dislocation density and reinforcement dispersion.

Phantom limb is a disabling neuropsychiatric condition among amputees resulting in pain and disturbance that impact their functions,quality of life,and autonomy.While pharmacological approaches appeared to be ineffec-tive,the emergence and integration of X-reality,including virtual reality,augmented reality,and mixed reality,might elevate the effectiveness of mirror therapy in managing phantom limb.The objective of this study is to review X-reality for managing phantom pain.A systematic search was conducted on PubMed,Scopus,Web of Science,PsycINFO,Embase,and CINAHL.Sixteen(n=16)studies containing 66 lower-limb and 53 upper-limb amputees were included for the review over the thematic framework of amputee characteristics and intervention designs,while thirteen(n=13)studies were further proceeded for the meta-analysis.We found eleven studies on virtual reality(n=11),four studies on marker-based augmented reality(n=4)and one study on mixed reality(n=1)with a total of 40 game/task themes involving,motor skills,motor control,and stimulus-sensing.Regardless,all these interventions adopted the movement representation strategies with different techniques.Overall,the X-reality interventions reduced the pain level of the amputees(mean difference:-2.30,95%CI,-3.38 to-1.22),especially the virtual reality subgroup(mean difference:-2.83,95%CI,-4.43 to-1.22).However,there were substantial heterogeneity and partially explained by the subgroup analysis on publication year.The strength of evidence was limited by case reports and case series in this review.
