AmphibiaChina, an open-access, web-based database, is designed to provide comprehensive and up-to-date information on Chinese amphibians. It offers an integrated module with six major sections. Compared to other known databases including AmphibiaWeb and Amphibian Species of the World, AmphibiaChina has the following new functions：（1） online species identification based on DNA barcode sequences; （2） comparisons and discussions of different major taxonomic systems; and （3） phylogenetic progress on Chinese amphibians. This database offers a window for the world to access available information of Chinese amphibians. AmphibiaChina with its Chinese version can be accessed at http：// ***.

While considerable progress has been made in the taxonomic studies of the genus Lycodon in Asia,questions remain to be clarified regarding the taxonomy of certain groups,particularly those containing species in China.Not only do many regions in China remain overlooked by herpetologists,resulting in the possibility of undiscovered new species,but the surveyed areas also have suspicious records of recognized congeners that require taxonomic confirmations.Combining both morphological and genetic data,we tackle these outstanding issues in the taxonomy of Lycodon in China.In particular,we discover two new species of Lycodon:one from the previously neglected hot-dry valley in the northern Hengduan Mountain Region close to Tibet,and another recluse and cryptic species from the L.fasciatus complex in the downtown park of a major city in southern Sichuan Province.Additionally,we clarify the distribution of L.septentrionalis in China and resurrect and elevate its junior synonym subspecies,Dinodon septentrionale chapaense,as a full,valid species,and we synonymize the recently described L.namdongensis to the resurrected L.chapaensis comb.nov..Lycodon chapaensis comb.***.thus represents a new national record of reptilian fauna of China.Lastly,based on literature review,we also correct some of the erroneous records of L.fasciatus and L.ruhstrati in China,point out remaining taxonomic issues of the genus for future research,and update the dichotomous key and distribution of the 20 species of Lycodon currently recorded from China.

Machine learning(ML)has been empowering all aspects of the wireless communication system design, among which, the reinforcement learning(RL)-based approaches have attracted a lot of research attention since they can interact with the environment directly and learn from the collected experiences efficiently. In this paper, we propose a novel and efficient RL-based multi-beam combining scheme for future millimeter-wave(mmWave)three-dimensional(3D)multi-input multi-output(MIMO)communication systems. The proposed scheme does not require perfect channel state information(CSI)or precise user location information which both are generally difficult to obtain in practice, and well addresses the crucial challenge of computational complexity incurred by the extremely huge state and action spaces associated with multiple users, multiple paths, and multiple 3D beams. In particular, a self-attention deep deterministic policy gradient(DDPG)-based beam selection and combination framework is proposed to learn the 3D beamforming pattern without CSI adaptively. We aim to maximize the sum-rate of the mmWave 3D-MIMO system by optimizing the serving beam set and the corresponding combining weights for each user. To this end, the transformer is incorporated into the DDPG to obtain the global information of the input elements and capture the signal directions precisely, which leads to a near-optimal beamformer design. Simulation results verify the superiority of the proposed self-attention DDPG over conventional ML-based beamforming schemes in terms of sum-rate under various scenarios.

Exploring the Relationship Between Patent Forward Citation and Stock Return Rate Using Empirical Data of China Stock Market

A novel indicator called price-citation was proposed.Based on the company integrated patent database of China listed companies of common stocks(A-shares)with the stock price and the stock return rate data,more than two thousand of A-shares from 2017 to 2020 were selected.The effect of the traditional patent forward citation and the price-citation for discriminating the stock return rate was thoroughly analyzed via ANOVA.The A-shares of forward citation counts above the average showed higher stock return rate means than the A-shares having patents but receiving no forward citations.The price-citation,combining both the financial and patent attributes,defined as the multiplication of the current stock price and the currently receiving forward citation count,showed its excellence in discriminating the stock return rate.The A-shares of higher price-citation showed significantly higher stock return rate means while the A-shares of lower price-citation showed significantly lowest stock return rate means.The price-citation effect had not been changed by COVID-19 though COVID-19 affected the social and economic environment to a considerable extent in 2020.

A theoretical model of a propeller cavitation noise modulation spectrum of ships with skewed propellers is proposed.According to the relationships between the wake velocity and the cavitation noise volume and between the propeller rotational speed and the number of bubbles,a mathematical expression of the cavitation noise modulation spectrum is derived.Theoretical analysis and simulation show that the difference between the blades is the main reason for the existence of a shaft frequency line spectrum in the modulation spectrum and that the main affecting factors of the modulation spectrum intensity of blade frequency in the modulation spectrum are the propeller’s skew angle and revolution.The results presented in this study provide a theoretical basis for the analysis and extraction of modulation spectrum characteristics of the radiated noise and also have a reference value for the low-noise structure design of ship propellers.

A new species of the genus Liurana Dubois,1986 is described from Medog County,Tibet,China,based on morphological and molecular data.The new species can be differentiated from all other congeners by the following combi nation of characters:(1)head wider than long;(2)tympanum distinct and large;(3)hindlimb long,tibiotarsal articulation beyond tip of snout when adpressed;(4)belly with flat tubercles,cloacal region with small tubercles;(5)transverse bands distinctly on dorsal limbs,four bands on thigh and three on tibia;and,(6)dark brown marbled patter ns or speckles on white belly.Here,we also discuss the distribution pattern of Liurana in the East Himalaya region,the role of the Yarlung Tsangpo River in the speciation and genetic isolation of congeners,the direct developmental mode of reproduction,and the two different ecotypes of the genus.Lastly,we provide conservation recommendations for the genus in southeastern Tibet.

Validation of a steel dual-core self-centering brace （DC-SCB） for seismic resistance： from brace member to one-story one-bay braced frame tests

A steel dual-core self-centering brace （DC-SCB） is an innovative structural member that provides both energy dissipation and self-centering properties to structures, reducing maximum and residual drifts of structures in earthquakes. The axial deformation capacity of the DC-SCB is doubled by a parallel arrangement of two inner cores, one outer box and two sets of tensioning elements. This paper presents cyclic test results of a DC-SCB component and a full- scale one-story, one-bay steel frame with a DC-SCB. The DC-SCB that was near 8 m-long was tested to evaluate its cyclic behavior and durability. The DC-SCB performed well under a total of three increasing cyclic loading tests and 60 low- cycle fatigue loading tests without failure. The maximum axial load of the DC-SCB was near 1700 kN at an interstory drift of 2.5%. Moreover, a three-story dual-core self-centering braced frame （DC-SCBF） with a single-diagonal DC-SCB was designed and its first-story, one-bay DC-SCBF subassembly specimen was tested in multiple earthquake-type loadings. The one-story, one-bay subassembly frame specimen performed well up to an interstory drift of 2% with yielding at the column base and local buckling in the steel beam; no damage of the DC-SCB was found after all tests. The maximum residual drift of the DC-SCBF caused by beam local buckling was 0.5% in 2.0% drift cycles.

Male infertility caused by idiopathic oligoasthenospermia(OAT)is known as idiopathic male infertility.Glutathione S-transferase(GST)and fluoride may play important roles in idiopathic male infertility,but their effects are still unknown.Our study examined the relationship between GST polymorphisms and fluoride-induced toxicity in idiopathic male infertility and determined the underlying mechanism.Sperm,blood,and urine samples were collected from 560 males.Fluoride levels were measured by a highly selective electrode method,and GST genotypes were identified using polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP).Semen parameters,DNA fragmentation index(DFI),mitochondrial membrane potential(MMP),and oxidative stress(OS)biomarkers were statistically assessed at the P<0.05 level.Compared with healthy fertile group,semen parameters,fluoride levels,OS biomarkers,sex hormone levels,and MMP and DFI levels were lower in the idiopathic male infertility group.For glutathione S-transferase M1(GSTM1[-])and glutathione S-transferase T1(GSTT1[-])or glutathione S-transferase P1(GSTP1)mutant genotypes,levels of semen fluoride,OS,MMP,and DFI were considerably higher,and the mean levels of sperm parameters and testosterone were statistically significant in GSTM1(+),GSTT1(+),and GSTP1 wild-type genotypes.Both semen and blood fluoride levels were associated with oxidative stress in idiopathic male infertility patients.Elevated fluoride in semen with the genotypes listed above was linked to reproductive quality in idiopathic male infertility patients.In conclusion,GST polymorphisms and fluorine may have an indicative relationship between reproductive quality and sex hormone levels,and OS participates in the development of idiopathic male infertility.
