The freshness of fruits is considered to be one of the essential characteristics for consumers in determining their quality,flavor and nutritional *** primary need for identifying rotten fruits is to ensure that only fresh and high-quality fruits are sold to *** impact of rotten fruits can foster harmful bacteria,molds and other microorganisms that can cause food poisoning and other illnesses to the *** overall purpose of the study is to classify rotten fruits,which can affect the taste,texture,and appearance of other fresh fruits,thereby reducing their shelf *** agriculture and food industries are increasingly adopting computer vision technology to detect rotten fruits and forecast their shelf ***,this research work mainly focuses on the Convolutional Neural Network’s(CNN)deep learning model,which helps in the classification of rotten *** proposed methodology involves real-time analysis of a dataset of various types of fruits,including apples,bananas,oranges,papayas and ***,machine learningmodels such as GaussianNaïve Bayes(GNB)and random forest are used to predict the fruit’s shelf *** results obtained from the various pre-trained models for rotten fruit detection are analysed based on an accuracy score to determine the best *** comparison to other pre-trained models,the visual geometry group16(VGG16)obtained a higher accuracy score of 95%.Likewise,the random forest model delivers a better accuracy score of 88% when compared with GNB in forecasting the fruit’s shelf *** developing an accurate classification model,only fresh and safe fruits reach consumers,reducing the risks associated with contaminated ***,the proposed approach will have a significant impact on the food industry for efficient fruit distribution and also benefit customers to purchase fresh fruits.

Neural degeneration is a very complicated process. In spite of all the advancements in the molecular chemistry, there are many unknown aspects of the phenomena of neurodegeneration which need to be put together. It is a common sequela of the conditions of niacin deficiency. Neural degeneration in Pellagra manifests as chromatolysis mainly in pyramidal followed by other neurons and glial cells. However, there is a gross lack of understanding of biochemi- cal mechanisms of neurodegeneration in niacin deficiency states. Because of the necessity of niacin or its amide derivative NAD in a number of biochemical pathways, it is understandable that several of these pathways may be involved in the common outcome of neural degener- ation. Here, we highlight five pathways that could be involved in the neuraldegeneration for which evidence has accumulated through several studies. These pathways are： 1） the trypto- phan-kyneurenic acid pathway, 2） the mitochondrial ATP generation related pathways, 3） the poly （ADP-ibose） polymerase （PARP） pathway, 4） the BDNF-TRKB Axis abnormalities, 5） the genetic influences of niacin deficiency.

Background:Walled-off pancreatic necrosis(WOPN)is an important complication of acute pancreatitis that is diagnosed by imaging modalities such as endoscopic ultrasound(EUS)or magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),which can clearly visualize necrotic *** effectiveness of abdominal ultrasound(USG)in detecting solid debris in WOPN is not ***:A total of 52 patients(37 males,mean age 38.9612.6 years)with symptomatic WOPN were prospectively studied using EUS,MRI and *** investigations were done at a mean of 11.765.5 weeks of onset of acute pancreatitis and within two ***:WOPN was detected by EUS&MRI in all patients,whereas USG could not detect it in 4(7.6%)patients(3 had predominantly solid WOPN,whereas one had air foci in WOPN).USG,MRI and EUS could detect solid debris in all patients with detectable *** and USG detected40%debris in 8 patients(15%)compared to 5(11%)patients having>40%debris on *** detected collaterals around WOPN that were not detected on USG or ***:USG can characterize the majority of WOPN,with accuracy comparable to that of EUS/*** its limitations are the inability to detect collaterals around WOPN and characterize collections with high solid content or air.

Progress Towards Genetics and Breeding for Minor Genes Based Resistance to Ug99 and Other Rusts in CIMMYT High-Yielding Spring Wheat

Wheat rusts continue to cause significant losses worldwide despite major efforts given to their genetic control. This is due to frequent evolution and selection of virulence in pathogen overcoming the deployed race-specific resistance genes. Although the life of effective race-specific resistance genes can be prolonged by using gene combinations, an alternative approach being implemented at CIMMYT is to deploy varieties that posses adult plant resistance （APR） based on combinations of minor, slow rusting genes. When present alone, the APR genes do not confer adequate resistance especially under high disease pressure; however, combinations of 4 or 5 minor genes usually result in ＂near-immunity＂ or a high level of resistance. Although only a few APR genes are catalogued, various APR QTLs are now known and could lead to further characterization of additional genes. Four characterized genes have pleiotropic effects in conferring partial APR to all 3 rusts and powdery mildew, thus simplifying the task of breeding wheat varieties that are resistant to multiple diseases. Significant progress was made recently in developing high-yielding wheat germplasm that possesses high levels of APR to all three rusts by implementing a Mexico- Kenya shuttle breeding scheme. Parents with APR to Ug99 were hybridized with high-yielding parents that had adequate to high levels of APR to leaf rust and yellow rust. Segregating populations and advanced lines from these crosses were selected under high rust pressures in Mexico （leaf rust and yellow rust） and Kenya （Ug99 stem rust and yellow rust） to identify high- yielding progenies that possess high to adequate APR to all three rusts. International distribution of these high-yielding wheats is underway through CIMMYT intemational yield trials and screening nurseries. Diabetic nephropathy is a major cause of end-stage renal disease （ESRD） in the general population. It is estimated that diabetic nephropathy will eventually develop in about 40% of all patients with diabetes; therefore, prevention is critical for delaying the development and progression of diabetic kidney disease. Despite extensive efforts, medical advances are still not successful enough to prevent the progression of the disease. In the present study, we focused on the comparison of combination therapies and whether they offered additional renoprotection. Type 2 diabetes mellitus was induced by intraperitoneally administering streptozotocin （90 mg/kg） in neonatal rats and then these rats were treated with rosiglitazone （1.0 mg/kg） in combination with glimepiride （0.5 mg/kg） or with pioglitazone （2.5 mg/kg） in combination with glimepiride （0.5 mg/kg）. Diabetic nephropathy markers were evaluated by biochemical and ELISA kits and renal structural changes were examined by light microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. Results show that the combination of pioglitazone with glimepiride is more effective in amelioration of diabetic nephropathy than rosiglitazone with glimepiride drug therapy due to glycemic control, suppressing albumin excretion rate, total protein excretion rate and augmented TNF-α signaling during the development of streptozotocin induced type 2 diabetic nephropathy.

Automated Speech Emotion Recognition (SER) becomes more popular and has increased *** concentrates on the automatic identification of the emotional state of a humanbeing using speech signals. It mainly depends upon the in-depth analysis of the speech signal,extracts features containing emotional details from the speech signal, and utilises patternrecognition techniques for emotional state identification. The major problem in automatic SERis to extract discriminate, powerful, and emotional salient features from the acoustical content ofspeech signals. The proposed model aims to detect and classify three emotional states of speechsuch as happy, neutral, and sad. The presented model makes use of Convolution neural network– Gated Recurrent unit (CNN-GRU) based feature extraction technique which derives a set offeature vectors. A comprehensive simulation takes place using the Berlin German Database andSJTU Chinese Database which comprises numerous audio files under a collection of differentemotion labels.

The paper deals with the review of acoustic emission technique in biomedical field. The re-view is done with the aim to provide an overview of the use of AE technique in biomedical field, mainly concentrated on the AE behavior of bone under different loading conditions, its depend-ence on strain rate, in osteoporosis, monitoring the fracture healing process of bone. The over-all conclusion from the review was that almost all the studies in bone indicated that the initial AE occurs only in the plastic region and just prior to yield. That means the use of AE tech-nique for clinical application cannot be consid-ered as a safe technique, but the early occur-rence of AE events from callus promises the application of AE technique for monitoring the fracture healing process. The negligible effect of soft tissues on AE response of bone prom-ises AE to become a non-invasive method for assessment of bone condition.
