Adavosertib(ADA)is a WEE1 inhibitor that exhibits a synthetic lethal effect on p53-mutated gallbladder cancer(GBC).However,drug resistance due to DNA damage response compensation pathways and high toxicity limits further ***,estrone-targeted ADA-encapsulated metal–organic frameworks(ADA@MOF-EPL)for GBC synthetic lethal treatment by inducing conditional factors are *** high expression of estrogen receptors in GBC enables ADA@MOF-EPL to quickly enter and accumulate near the cell nucleus through estrone-mediated endocytosis and release ADA to inhibit WEE1 upon entering the acidic tumor *** irradiation induces ADA@MOF-EPL to generate reactive oxygen species(ROS),which leads to a further increase in DNA damage,resulting in a higher sensitivity of p53-mutated cancer cells to WEE1 inhibitor and promoting cell death via conditional synthetic *** conditional factor induced by ADA@MOF-EPL further enhances the antitumor efficacy while significantly reducing systemic ***,ADA@MOF-EPL demonstrates similar antitumor abilities in other p53-mutated solid tumors,revealing its potential as a broad-spectrum antitumor drug.

Low-temperature superplasticity of cryorolled Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy sheets

To investigate the superplastic deformation behavior of cryorolled Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy,tensile tests were carried out at760℃and 830℃with different strain *** evolution of grain and micro structure has been studied using transmission electron microscopy and electron backscatter *** the tensile temperature was 760℃(<0.5T_(m),T_(m)is absolute melting point of alloy.)and the strain rate was 5×10^(-4)s^(-1),the fracture elongation of the sample reached 385%,showing good low-temperature *** with the tensile temperature of 760℃,the fracture elongation of the s ample at 830℃was lower due to grain coarsening and *** strain rate sensitivity value m of all samples was larger than0.3,which confirmed that the cryorolled Ti-6A1-4V titanium alloy with a non-equiaxed grains structure can achieve high superplasticity at a temperature lower than 0.5T_(m),and indicated that the main deformation mechanisms in the tensile test at760-830℃were grain rotation and grain boundary *** the tensile test,the average grain size of all samples was less than 5μm,in which significant dynamic recrystallization and recovery occurred.

Full-scale pullout tests of rock anchors in a limestone quarry focusing on bond failure at the anchor-grout and grout-rock interfaces

Rock anchors are a common safety measure for stabilising large-scale infrastructure,such as bridge towers,retaining walls,rock slopes and *** are four principal failure modes for rock anchors:(a)tensile failure of the steel anchor,(b)anchor-grout interface failure,(c)grout-rock interface failure,and(d)rock mass *** tests were performed in a limestone *** tests were designed to test failure modes B and C through *** the tests of failure mode B,the shear stress on the anchor-grout interface is the largest at the top of the grout column and attenuates towards the distal end for small *** shear stress becomes uniformly distributed when the applied load is approximately 50%of the ultimate pullout *** anchors designed to test failure mode C were installed with an endplate and had a higher toughness than the straight bar *** shear stress on the grout-rock interface is the largest at the endplate and attenuates upward before slip starts along the *** the ultimate pullout load is reached,and the grout column starts to slip,the shear stress is approximately *** bond shear strength on the anchor-grout interface was approximately 20%of the uniaxial compressive strength of the grout,and the bond strength of the grout-rock interface was around 5%for that of the *** grout-rock interface is likely determined by whichever is weaker,the grout or the rock.

Separating emitted dust from the total suspension in airflow based on the characteristics of PM10 vertical concentration profiles on a Gobi surface in northwestern China

During aeolian processes,the two most critical factors related to dust emissions are soil particle and aggregate saltation,which greatly affect the vertical profiles of near-surface dust *** this study,we measured PM10 concentrations at four different heights(0.10,0.50,1.00 and 2.00 m)with and without continuous and simultaneous aeolian saltation processes on a Gobi surface in northwestern China from 31 March to 10 April,*** found that the vertical concentration profiles of suspended PM10 matched the log-law model well when there was no aeolian *** the erosion process with saltation,we divided the vertical concentration profiles of PM10 into the saltation-affected layer and the airflow-transport layer according to two different dust sources(i.e.,locally emitted PM10 and upwind transported PM10).The transition height between the saltation-affected layer and the airflow-transport layer was not fixed and varied with saltation *** this new perspective,we calculated the airflow-transport layer and the dust emission rate at different times during a wind erosion event occurred on 5 April *** found that dust emissions during wind erosion are primarily controlled by saltation intensity,contributing little to PM10 concentrations above the ground surface compared to PM10 concentrations transported from upwind *** erosion progresses,the surface supply of erodible grains is the most crucial factor for saltation *** there was a sufficient amount of erodible grains,there was a significant correlation among the friction velocity,saltation intensity and dust emission ***,when supply is limited by factors such as surface renewal or an increase in soil moisture,the friction velocity will not necessarily correlate with the other two ***,for the Gobi surface,compared to limiting dust emissions from upwind directions,restricting the transport of suspended dust in its path is by far a more efficient and

Importance of Air-Sea Coupling in Simulating Tropical Cyclone Intensity at Landfall

An atmosphere-only model system for making seasonal prediction and projecting future intensities of landfalling tropical cyclones(TCs)along the South China coast is upgraded by including ocean and wave models.A total of 642 TCs have been re-simulated using the new system to produce a climatology of TC intensity in the South China *** comparisons of the simulations from the atmosphere-only and the fully coupled systems reveal that the inclusion of the additional ocean and wave models enable differential sea surface temperature responses to various TC characteristics such as translational speed and *** particular,interaction with the ocean does not necessarily imply a weakening of the TC,with the coastal bathymetry possibly playing a role in causing a near-shore intensification of the *** results suggest that to simulate the evolution of TC structure more accurately,it is essential to use an air-sea coupled model instead of an atmosphere-only model.

Enhanced Mechanical Properties of AA5083 Matrix Composite via Introducing Al_(0.5)CoCrFeNi Particles and Cryorolling

High-entropy alloy particles(HEAPs)can markedly enhance the mechanical properties of metal matrix composites(MMCs).In this study,AA5083/Al_(0.5) CoCrFeNi HEAPs MMCs with diff erent HEAPs contents(0,1,and 3 wt%)were prepared via a stir-casting,and then these MMCs sheets were hot rolled(573 K)and cryorolled(77 K),*** mechanical properties of the MMCs sheets were measured by tensile testing and microhardness ***,their microstructures were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron *** revealed that the ultimate tensile strength(UTS)of the as-cast AA5083/Al_(0.5) CoC rF eN i HEAPs MMCs were improved from 203 to 257 MPa by adding 3 wt%*** the mechanical properties of the MMCs sheets were improved after *** cryorolling with 50%rolling reduction ratio,the MMCs with 1 wt%HEAPs had an UTS of 382 MPa,which was 1.9 times that of the MMCs before ***,the strengthening mechanisms of HEAPs and cryorolling on the AA5083/HEAPs MMCs were discussed.

Double-sided friction stir welding of Nitronic-40 stainless steel for application in tokamak devices

Nitrogen containing austenitic stainless steels(N-ASS)are widely utilized to fabricate various structural components in tokamak type fusion reactors owing to their suitable mechanical and functional *** components are exposed to a range of temperatures(4-500 K)and interact closely with the magnetic fields that are used to control and contain the plasma within the tokamak ***-40(N40)or XM-11 stainless steel is one such N-ASS used for fabricating structural components in the mag-netic and vacuum vessel systems in tokamak *** of most of the larger components in the magnetic and vacuum vessel systems typically involves some type of fusion-based welding *** study presents a double-sided friction stir welding(FSW)approach as an alternative to fusion welding processes to join 12 mm thick N40 plates to obtain joints with a low fraction ofδferrite(a detrimen-tal ferromagnetic phase),high joint efficiency,no sensitization and loss of hardness in the heat affected zone,and minimal nitrogen desorption from the weld *** double-sided FSW approach yielded superior weldments when compared to similar joints accomplished by fusion welding for application in tokamak devices.
