Electrospun porous carbon nanofibers derived from bio-based phenolic resins as free-standing electrodes for high-performance supercapacitors

Phenolic resins were employed to prepare electrospun porous carbon nanofibers with a high specific surface area as free-standing electrodes for high-performance ***,the sustainable development of conventional phenolic resin has been challenged by petroleum-based phenol and *** with abundant phenolic hydroxyl groups is the main non-petroleum resource that can provide renewable aromatic ***,lignin,phenol,and furfural were used to synthesize bio-based phenolic resins,and the activated carbon nanofibers were obtained by electrospinning and one-step carbonization *** transform infrared and differential scanning calorimetry were used to characterize the structural and thermal *** results reveal that the apparent activation energy of the curing reaction is 89.21 kJ·mol–1 and the reaction order is *** activated carbon nanofibers show a uniform diameter,specific surface area up to 1100 m^(2)·g^(-1),and total pore volume of 0.62 cm^(3)·g^(-1).The electrode demonstrates a specific capacitance of 238 F·g^(-1)(0.1 A·g^(-1))and good rate *** symmetric supercapacitor yields a high energy density of 26.39 W·h·kg^(-1)at 100 W·kg^(-1)and an excellent capacitance retention of 98%after 10000 *** results confirm that the activated carbon nanofiber from bio-based phenolic resins can be applied as electrode material for high-performance supercapacitors.

Although they are polymorphic(multiphase)materials,both copper and silver are reliable Hugoniot standards,and thus it is necessary to establish an accurate analytic model of their principal *** we present analytic forms of their principal Hugoniots,as well as those of iridium and platinum,two“pusher”standards for shock-ramp experiments,over a wide range of *** are based on our new analytic model of the principal Hugoniot[Burakovsky et al.,***.132,215109(2022)].Comparison of the four Hugoniots with experimental and independent theoretical data(such data exist to very high pressures for both copper and silver)demonstrates excellent ***,the new model for copper and silver can be considered as providing the corresponding Hugoniot standards over a wide pressure *** also suggest an approach for calculating the Grüneisen parameter along the Hugoniot and apply it to copper as a prototype,and our results appear to be in good agreement with the available data.

Sluggish oxygen evolution reaction(OER)in acid conditions is one of the bottlenecks that prevent the wide adoption of proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer for green hydrogen *** recent advancements in developing high-performance catalysts for acid OER,the current electrocatalysts still rely on iridium-and ruthenium-based materials,urging continuous efforts to discover better performance catalysts as well as reduce the usage of noble *** structured oxide is a family of potential high-performance acid OER catalysts with a flexible compositional space to tune the electrochemical ***,exploring the large composition space of pyrochlore compounds demands an imperative approach to enable efficient *** we present a highthroughput screening pipeline that integrates density functional theory calculations and a transfer learning approach to predict the critical properties of pyrochlore *** high-throughput screening recommends three sets of candidates for potential acid OER applications,totaling 61 candidates from 6912 pyrochlore *** addition to 3d-transition metals,p-block metals are identified as promising dopants to improve the catalytic activity of pyrochlore *** work demonstrates not only an efficient approach for finding suitable pyrochlores towards acid OER but also suggests the great compositional flexibility of pyrochlore compounds to be considered as a new materials platform for a variety of applications.

This paper deals with the modelling and simulation of aircraft systems, in particular for power transmission and control. It is intended to review, propose and disseminate best practices for making model-based/simulation-aided engineering more efficient at any phase of the system life cycle. The proposals are aimed at creating value, not only by increasing the performance of the product under study but also by shortening the time to market, capitalizing knowledge, mitigating risks and facilitating concurrent engineering. The needs associated with the engineering activities are firstly identified to define a set of requirements for the models. Then, these requirements are used to drive the considerations leading to model development, focusing in particular on the process,modelled physical effects, modelling level, model architecting and concurrent engineering. The third part deals with the model implementation, giving special consideration to the different types of models, causalities, parameterization, implementation and verification. Each part is illustrated by examples related to safety critical actuators.
