Previous studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of a novel three-layer landfill cover system constructed w.th recycled concrete aggregates(RCAs)w.thout geomembrane in both laboratory and ***,no systematic investigation has been carried out to optimize the combination of the particle sizes for fine-grained RCAs(FRC)and coarse-grained RCAs(CRC)that can be used for the three-layer landfill cover *** aim of this paper is to assist engineers in designing the three-layer landfill cover system under a rainfall of 100-year return period in humid climate conditions using an easily controlled soil parameter D10 of *** numerical study reveals that w.en D10 of FRC increases from 0.05 mm to 0.16 mm,its saturated permeability increases by 10 *** a result,a larger amount of rainw.ter infiltrates into the cover system,causing a higher lateral diversion in both the top FRC and middle CRC *** further changes in the lateral diversion are observed w.en the D10 value of FRC is larger than 0.16 *** the particle sizes of FRC and CRC layers are show. to have a minor influence on the percolation under the extreme rainfall *** implies that the selection of particle sizes for the FRC and CRC layers can be based on the availability of *** it is w.ll know. that the bottom layer of the cover system should be constructed w.th very fine-grained soils if possible,this study provides an upper limit to the particle size that can be used in the bottom layer(D10 not larger than 0.02 mm).w.th this limit,the three-layer system can still minimize the w.ter percolation to meet the design criterion(30 mm/yr)even under a 100-year return period of rainfall in humid climates.

Gut microbes comprise a high density, biologically active community that lies at the interface of an animal w.th its nutritional environment. Consequently their activity profoundly influences many aspects of the physiology and metabolism of the host animal. A range of microbial structural components and metabolites directly interact w.th host intestinal cells and tissues to influence nutrient uptake and epithelial health. Endocrine, neuronal and lymphoid cells in the gut also integrate signals from these microbial factors to influence systemic responses. Dysregulation of these host-microbe interactions is now.recognised as a major risk factor in the development of metabolic dysfunction. This is a tw.-w.y process and understanding the factors that tip host-microbiome homeostasis over to dysbiosis requires greater appreciation of the host feedbacks that contribute to regulation of microbial community composition. To date, numerous studies have employed taxonomic profiling approaches to explore the links betw.en microbial composition and host outcomes(especially obesity and its comorbidities), but inconsistent host-microbe associations have been reported. Available data indicates multiple factors have contributed to discrepancies betw.en studies. These include the high level of functional redundancy in host-microbiome interactions combined w.th individual variation in microbiome composition; differences in study design, diet composition and host system betw.en studies; and inherent limitations to the resolution of r RNA-based community profiling. Accounting for these factors allow. for recognition of the common microbial and host factors driving community composition and development of dysbiosis on high fat diets. New.therapeutic intervention options are now.emerging.

Objective: Prostate cancers(PCa) in Asian individuals are molecularly distinct from those found in their Caucasian *** is no risk stratification tool for Asian men w.th rapid biochemical recurrence(BCR) follow.ng radical prostatectomy(Rad P). This study aims to assess the detection rate of ^(68)Ga-prostate-specific membrane antigen-positron emission tomography/computed tomography(PSMA-PET/CT) for diagnosis of clinical recurrence and as a treatment decision making tool in Asian patients w.th BCR post-Rad ***: ^(68)Ga PSMA-PET and CT body w.th/w.thout bone scan [conventional w.rkup(Cw.)] w.re performed in 55 Asian patients w.th BCR w.thin 36 months post-Rad P. Tw. blinded review.rs assessed the images. Detection rates of ^(68)Ga PSMAPET/CT w.re evaluated, and impact on management w.s review.d by comparison w.th ***: Median time to BCR post-Rad P w.s 8.1 months. Detection rate for ^(68)Ga PSMA-PET/CT w.s 80%(44/55). A positive scan w.s significantly associated w.th increasing prostate-specific antigen(PSA) level [odds ratio(OR) = 1.13(95% CI 1.05–1.30), P =0.017], but not w.th higher Gleason grade or shorter PSA doubling time. Compared to Cw., ^(68)Ga PSMA-PET/CT detected an additional 106 lesions in 33/44 patients w.th a positive scan, resulting in a change in management in 25/44(56.8%) patients: 10 to hormonal therapy(HT) and w.ole pelvis radiotherapy(RT) in addition to bed RT, and 15 to palliative HT ***: In the present report, w. demonstrated the diagnostic and treatment decision utility of ^(68)Ga PSMA-PET/CT in Asian men w.th rapid BCR. Detection of small volume nodal and systemic recurrences at low.PSA levels(w.th HT-RT or palliative HT in polymetastatic disease.

Grinding and Characterization of Natural Phosphate for Direct Application

An alternative process is suggested, by means of surface area enlargement, in order to study the direct assimilation of natural phosphates (NP) and to avoid the liquid-solid states in the treatment. New.pulverisation technologies have been used to grind natural phosphates: Ball crushers. The consequences of this grinding are show. in tw. characteristics: a physical one and chemical one-reactivity have been modified. The aim of this investigation is the development of three granulometric slices that is w. measured the distributions of the particles size by LASER and studied their morphologies w.th the scanning electronic microscopy (SEM). The characteristic temperatures of the products have been determined by (DTA/TGA). Finally, the final properties, like the properties of surface, have been characterized by BET. The crystalline nature of the pow.ers has been determined by X-ray pow.er diffraction. The studied material is a sedimentary rock phosphate w.th three size fraction <160 μm, <80 μm and <40 μm. The specific surface fractions <160 μm, <80 μm and <40 μm are respectively 17.45 m2/g, 18.50 m2/g and 9 m2/g. The chemical analysis of the product suggests that the composition of apatite lends itself to the substitution groups PO43- by (CO3F)3-.
