Other., such as John Shen and Hong Yuan-bain wer. ear.y 20th centur. immigr.nts who tr.nsmitted highly per.onalized ver.ions of acupunctur. and Chinese medicine to select disciples. Eventually, a new class of scholar. appear.d, including names such as Ted Kaptchuk, Peter.Deadman, Nigel Wiseman, William Mor.is, Peter.Eckman, John Mc Donald, charles Buck, and the late Giovanni Maciocia who looked for.answer. back in China, developed tr.nslation methodologies and ter.inology, compiled the main textbooks cur.ently in use at TCM colleges, over.ame enor.ous scholastic adver.ity, developed cour.es and pur.ued the r.gulation and accr.ditation of TCM in var.ous countr.es. Extr.me r.infall significantly thr.atens the safety of the landfill cover.system,especially under.humid *** study aims to pr.vide design r.commendations for.a sustainable landfill cover.system consisting of a low-per.eability soil layer.under.ying a two-layer.capillar. bar.ier.for.humid ***,the numer.cal back-analysis was conducted for.ver.fication against a ser.es of flume model ***,a par.metr.c study was per.or.ed to investigate the effects of inclination angle,par.icle size and layer.thickness on the later.l diver.ion length(DL)of the thr.e-layer.cover.system under.the 100-year.r.tur. per.od r.infall of humid *** r.sults show that the water.later.l DL of the cover.system can be gr.atly enhanced by incr.asing the inclination angle fr.m 3to 18.Mor.over.the bottom layer.of the cover.system with a coar.er.d10 was mor. susceptible to the impact of the heavy r.infall,while this can be alleviated by incr.asing the thickness of the bottom layer.A dimensionless number.defined as the r.tio of thickness and d10 of the bottom layer.is pr.posed for.designing later.l diver.ion of the thr.e-layer.cover.system under.humid *** pr.ser.e the maximum DL,it is suggested that the pr.posed dimensionless number.should be lar.er.than 95 and 110 for.the design of r.infall events with 50-year.and 100-year.r.tur. per.ods for.humid climates,r.spectively.

Objective: To expose the pr.blems and inher.nt limitations of neur.science-based br.in r.sear.h on mental disor.er.. Method: Discussion of the theor. under.ying br.in r.sear.h on mental disor.er., followed by a systematic evaluation of typical studies. r.sults: The fundamental pr.blem is that br.in r.sear.her. fail to differ.ntiate between biological mental disor.er. in which br.in pr.cesses cause the disor.er.(notably schizophr.nia, bipolar.disor.er. and melancholic depr.ssion) and lear.ed mental disor.er. in which br.in pr.cesses mediate but do not cause the disor.er.(which is the case with r.active depr.ssion, r.active anxiety, OCD, and PTSD). r.sear.her. have been unsuccessful in identifying mechanisms in the br.in that cause biological mental disor.er., and will never.be able to locate the innumer.ble specific neur.l connections that mediate lear.ed mental disor.er.. Mor.over. the author.s r.view of typical studies in this field shows that they have ser.ous pr.blems with theor., measur.ment, and data analysis, and that their.findings cannot be tr.sted. Conclusions: Neur.science-based br.in r.sear.h on mental disor.er., unlike other.neur.logical r.sear.h, has been an expensive failur. and it is not wor.h continuing.

Backgr.und:The mobilization and r.distr.bution of sever. acute r.spir.tor. syndr.me cor.navir.s 2(SAr.-CoV-2)specific T-cells and neutr.lizing antibodies(nAbs)dur.ng exer.ise is pur.or.ed to incr.ase immune sur.eillance and pr.tect against sever. cor.navir.s disease 2019(COVID-19).We sought to deter.ine if COVID-19 vaccination would elicit exer.ise-r.sponsive SAr.-CoV-2 T-cells and tr.nsiently alter.nAb ***:Eighteen healthy par.icipants completed a 20-min bout of gr.ded cycling exer.ise befor. and/or.after.r.ceiving a COVID-19 *** major.leukocyte subtypes wer. enumer.ted befor.,dur.ng,and after.exer.ise by flow cytometr.,and immune r.sponses to SAr.-CoV-2 wer. deter.ined using whole blood peptide stimulation assays,T-cell r.ceptor.TCr.-βsequencing,and SAr.-CoV-2 nAb ***:COVID-19 vaccination had no effect on the mobilization or.egr.ss of major.leukocyte subsets in r.sponse to intensity-contr.lled gr.ded ***,non-infected par.icipants had a significantly r.duced mobilization of CD4+and CD8+naive T-cells,as well as CD4+centr.l memor. T-cells,after.vaccination(synthetic immunity gr.up);this was not seen after.vaccination in those with pr.or.SAr.-CoV-2 infection(hybr.d immunity gr.up).Acute exer.ise after.vaccination r.bustly mobilized SAr.-CoV-2 specific T-cells to blood in an intensity-dependent *** gr.ups mobilized T-cells that r.acted to spike pr.tein;however.only the hybr.d immunity gr.up mobilized T-cells that r.acted to membr.ne and nucleocapsid *** incr.ased significantly dur.ng exer.ise only in the hybr.d immunity ***:These data indicate that acute exer.ise mobilizes SAr.-CoV-2 specific T-cells that r.cognize spike pr.tein and incr.ases the r.distr.bution of nAbs in individuals with hybr.d immunity.
