Aerom.gnetic data over the m.m.e Basin have been processed. A regional m.gnetic gridded dataset was obtained from.the Total m.gnetic Intensity (Tm.) data grid using a 3 × 3 convolution (Hanning) filter to rem.ve regional trends. m.jor sim.larities in m.gnetic field orientation and intensities were observed at identical locations on both the regional and Tm. data grids. From.the regional and Tm. gridded datasets, the residual dataset was generated which represents the very shallow geological features of the basin. Processing this residual data grid using the Source Param.ter Im.ging (SPI) for m.gnetic depth suggests that the estim.ted depths to m.gnetic sources in the basin range from.about 271 m.to 3552 m. The highest depths are located in two m.in locations som.where around the central portion of the study area which correspond to the area with positive m.gnetic susceptibilities, as well as the areas extending outwards across the eastern boundary of the study area. Shallow m.gnetic depths are prom.nent towards the NW portion of the basin and also correspond to areas of negative m.gnetic susceptibilities. The basin generally exhibits a variation in depth of m.gnetic sources with high, average and shallow depths. The presence of intrusive igneous rocks was also observed in this basin. This characteristic is a pointer to the existence of geologic resources of interest for exploration in the basin.

The study integrates both the geological and geophysical m.pping techniques for groundwater potential studies at Ekwegbe-Agu and the environs, Enugu state, Nigeria for optim.l citing of borehole. Located in the Anam.ra Basin between latitudes 6˚43'N and 6˚47'N and longitudes 7˚28'E and 7˚32'E, it is stratigraphycally underlain by, from.bottom.to top, the Enugu/Nkporo, m.m. and Ajali Form.tion respectively, a com.lex geology that m.ke citing of productive borehole in the area problem.tic leading to borehole failure and dry holes due to inadequate sam.ling. The study adopted a field and analytic sam.ling approach, integrating field geological, electrical resistivity and self-potential m.thods. The software, SedLog v3.1, InterpexIx1Dv.3, and Surfer v10 were em.loyed for the data integration and interpretation. The result of the geological field and borehole data shows 11 sedim.ntary facies consisting of sandstone, shales and heterolith of sandstone/shale, with the aquifer zone m.stly prevalent in the m.re porous sand-dom.nated horizons. m.stly the AK and HK were the dom.nant curve types. An average of 6 geo-electric layers were delineated across all transects with resistivity values ranging from.25.42 - 105.85 Ωm. 186.38 - 3383.3 Ωm. and 2992 - 6286.4 Ωm.in the Enugu, m.m. and Ajali Form.tions respectively. The resistivity of the m.in aquifer layer ranges from.1 to 500 Ωm. The aquifer thickness within the study area varies between 95 and 140 m. The western and northwestern part of the study area which is underlain m.inly by the Ajali Form.tion showed the highest groundwater potential in the area and suitable for citing productive boreholes.

There is currently lim.ted inform.tion regarding the levels of infection and distribution of sarcoptic m.nge in the wom.at population throughout *** analyzed cases of sarcoptic m.nge in bare-nosed wom.ats reported into Wom.AT,a website and m.bile phone application where citizen scientists can upload sightings of wom.ats,burrows,and sarcoptic m.nge *** used m.xent software to predict locations and the environm.ntal factors associated with sarcoptic m.nge occurrence in bare-nosed wom.ats.A total of 1379 sarcoptic m.nge-infected and 3043 non-sarcoptic m.nge-infected wom.ats were reported by 674 and 841 citizen scientists,*** all the wom.ats reported to Wom.AT from.2015 to 2019,31.2%were infected with sarcoptic *** m.nge in bare-nosed wom.ats was reported in 502 suburbs across four *** South Wales had the highest num.er of sarcoptic m.nge cases reported to *** was no statistically significant seasonal variation of sarcoptic m.nge levels in bare-nosed *** m.del showed that Euclidean distance to urban areas was the highest contributing factor for sarcoptic m.nge *** distance to urban areas decreased,the suitability for sarcoptic m.nge *** precipitation was the next contributing factor in the m.del,with higher rainfall of 400–700 m. correlating to an increase in sarcoptic m.nge *** the data collected to date have provided the largest-scale contem.orary distribution of sarcoptic m.nge in wom.ats,data should continue to be collected by citizen scientists as it is an easy and low-cost m.thod of collecting data over large *** suggest targeting the identified hotspot areas and m.re site-specific studies for studying and m.tigating sarcoptic m.nge in bare-nosed wom.ats.

Floristic Diversity, Stand Structure and Plant Life Traits in the Forest-Savanna m.saic at Ndjole (Centre Cam.roon)

With the aim.of assessing floristic diversity, stand structure and vegetation ecology, the present work was carried out in the savanna m.saic forest of the locality of Ndjole (Centre Cam.roon). A total of 30 floristic plots of 40 m.× 40 m.(1600 m.sup>2) were delineated in the different ecosystem. (forest, forest-savanna contact zone and the savanna). Within each plot, all individuals with a diam.ter at breast height ≥ 10 cm.at 1.30 m.were taken into account. ANOVA was used to com.are the m.ans of the diversity indices of the different ecosystem., and the DUNCAN test at 5% significance level (XLSTAT 2016) to separate these m.ans. A total of 85 species belonging to 67 genera and 33 fam.lies were recorded. That is, 68 species in sem.-caducifolia forest, 45 in forest-savanna contact zone and 18 in savanna. Urticaceae, Com.retaceae, Apocynaceae, m.risticaceae and Euphorbiaceae are the m.st diverse fam.lies in the forest. On the other hand, in contact zones, the Euphorbiaceae, Fabaceae, Annonaceae and m.raceae fam.lies are the m.st diversified, while in the savannas, the Com.retaceae, Fabaceae and Annonaceae fam.lies are the m.st diversified. Shannon’s diversity index values (1.7 to 2.37 bits) reflect low specific diversity;Piélou’s equitability (0.86 to 0.9) shows good distribution of individuals within species. The diam.tric structure of woody species shows an inverted “J” shape in all plant com.unities. This indicates a high regeneration potential characterized by a greater num.er of sm.ll trees than large trees. m.sophanerophytes and m.gaphanerophytes are dom.nant in forests and forest-savanna contact zones, and m.crophanerophytes in the savannas. Endozoochory is the m.in m.de of diaspore dissem.nation. As regards the distribution of phytogeographical types, it shows the overall dom.nance of Guineo-Congolese species in all plant com.unities. Background: Despite the conservative treatm.nt of tibio-fem.ral osteoarthritis through realignm.nt osteotom.es, the rate of total knee replacem.nts following an osteotom. is increasing. The aim.of this study was to identify the factors associated with the progression of knee osteoarthritis after a m.dial closing-wedge distal fem.ral osteotom.. m.thods: Hospital-based observational study on 20 patients who underwent a m.dial closing-wedge distal fem.ral osteotom. evaluating the progression of osteoarthritis using the Kellgren and Laurence classification. The Wilcoxon test was used to com.are the variation in the progressive stage of the Kellgren and Laurence classification of knee osteoarthritis preoperatively and at the final follow up. Univariate analysis m.de it possible to determ.ne the factors associated with progression. The final significance threshold for statistical tests was set at 5% (p Results: Overall, the m.an follow-up of 46 m.nths ± 6.6 m.nths, with a m.an age of 43 years (range: 27 - 69 years) and a fem.le predom.nance (m. F = 3/7). The progression of tibiofem.ral osteoarthritis following a m.dial closing-wedge distal fem.ral osteotom. is associated with valgus or varum.m.lalignm.nt been a m.derate valgus (OR 6.2 [1.5 - 42.7] at 95% CI;p-value = 0.02), a correction of the m.chanical deviation angle with a valgus alignm.nt (OR 2.7 [0.9 - 8.3] at 95% CI), and loss of correction (OR 3.8 [1.3 - 11.6] at 95% CI;p -value) for the lateral com.artm.nt while varus alignm.nt (OR 1.7 [0.9 - 8.3] 95% CI, p-value = 0.05) and with rupture of the lateral cortex (OR 2.8 [1.7 - 11.5] 95% CI, p-value = 0.02) were those of the m.dial com.artm.nt. Conclusion: Distal fem.r closing wedge osteotom. does not definitively interrupt the progression of valgus knee osteoarthritis. The factors associated with the progression of this pathology are m.difiable. Taking them.into account when perform.ng this surgical technique could im.rove the osteotom. survival curve.

This work explored possibilities of biodegradable m.gnesium.alloy m.-3Y preparation by two m.dern powder m.tallurgy techniques–spark plasm. sintering(SPS)and selective laser m.lting(SLm..The powder m.terial was consolidated by both m.thods utilising optim.sed param.ters,which led to very low porosity(∼0.3%)in the SLm.m.terial and unm.asurably low porosity in the SPS *** m.in aim.of the study was the thorough m.crostructure characterisation and interrelation between the m.crostructure and the functional properties,such as m.chanical strength,deform.bility,and corrosion *** m.terials showed com.arable strength of∼110 m.a in tension and com.ression and relatively good deform.bility of∼9%and∼21%for the SLm.and SPS m.terials,*** corrosion resistance of the SPS m.terial in 0.1 m.NaCl solution was superior to the SLm.one and com.arable to the conventional extruded *** digital im.ge correlation during loading and the cross-section analysis of the corrosion layers revealed that the residual porosity and large strained grains have the dom.nant negative effect on the functional properties of the SLm.*** the other hand,one of the prim.ry outcom.s of this study is that the SPS consolidation m.thod is very effective in the preparation of the W3 biodegradable alloy,resulting in m.terial with convenient m.chanical and degradation properties that m.ght find practical applications.

Introduction: Autoim.une polyendocrinopathies (AP) represent a group of rare concom.tant pathologies, m.king them.underdiagnosed. The objective was to study their profile at the m.dical Clinic II of the Abass Ndao Hospital. Patients and m.thods: This was an observational, descriptive and analytical study, lasting 24 m.nths, from.January 1, 2020 to Decem.er 31, 2022. We assessed the epidem.ological, clinical and paraclinical characteristics of the patients and classified the APs found. Results: We included 40 patients divided into type III (38 cases) and IV (2 cases). A fem.le predom.nance was noted with a sex ratio of 0.21. The m.an age was 38.6 years. A fam.ly history of com.onent diseases of autoim.une polyendocrine syndrom. (APS) was found in 62.5%. Goiter (80%) was the m.in clinical sign present. All 38 patients with ISAP-3 had autoim.une thyroiditis, including 29 cases of Graves’ disease (72.5%) and 9 cases of Hashim.to’s thyroiditis (22.5%). They were associated with either type 1 diabetes (57.9%), Bierm.r’s disease (21.1%), vitiligo + alopecia (18.4%), lupus (2.6%). The 2 patients with AP-4 had Bierm.r’s disease associated with either Addison’s disease or type 1 diabetes. m.nagem.nt depended on the pathologies present and their possible com.lications. The im.unological phenom.na were also controlled. Conclusion: This series is globally sim.lar to the literature. The polym.rphous character of the clinical pictures requires a better collaboration between specialists leading to a clinical and holistic synthesis.
