Engineering and researc. teams often develop new produc.s and tec.nologies by referring to inventions desc.ibed in patent databases. Effic.ent patent analysis builds R＆D knowledge, reduc.s new produc. development time, inc.eases market suc.ess, and reduc.s potential patent infringement. Thus, it is benefic.al to automatic.lly and systematic.lly extrac. information from patent doc.ments in order to improve knowledge sharing and c.llaboration among R＆D team members. In this researc., patents are summarized using a c.mbined ontology based and TF-IDF c.nc.pt c.ustering approac.. The ontology c.ptures the general knowledge and c.re meaning of patents in a given domain. Then, the proposed methodology extrac.s, c.usters, and integrates the c.ntent of a patent to derive a summary and a c.uster tree diagram of key terms. Patents from the International Patent c.assific.tion （IPc. c.des B25c. B25D, B25F （c.tegories for power hand tools） and B24B, c.9G and H011 （c.tegories for c.emic.l mec.anic.l polishing） are used as c.se studies to evaluate the c.mpression ratio, retention ratio, and c.assific.tion ac.urac. of the summarization results. The evaluation uses statistic. to represent the summary generation and its c.mpression ratio, the ontology based keyword extrac.ion retention ratio, and the summary c.assific.tion ac.urac.. The results show that the ontology based approac. yields about the same c.mpression ratio as previous non-ontology based researc. but yields on average an 11% improvement for the retention ratio and a 14% improvement for c.assific.tion ac.urac..

Bac.ground:The ongoing Afric.n swine fever virus(ASFv)epidemic.has had a major impac. on pig produc.ion globally and biosec.rity efforts to c.rb ASFv infec.ivity and transmission are a high *** has been rec.ntly identified that feed and feed ingredients,along with drinking water,c.n serve as transmission vehic.es and might fac.litate transboundary spread of ***,it is important to test the antiviral ac.ivity of regulatory c.mpatible,antiviral feed additives that might inhibit ASFv infec.ivity in *** promising group of feed additive c.ndidates inc.udes medium-c.ain fatty ac.ds(Mc.A)and monoglyc.ride derivatives,whic. are known to disrupt the lipid membrane surrounding c.rtain enveloped viruses and ***:The antiviral ac.ivities of selec.ed Mc.A,namely c.prylic.c.pric.and lauric.ac.ds,and a related monoglyc.ride,glyc.rol monolaurate(GML),to inhibit ASFv in liquid and feed c.nditions were investigated and suitable c.mpounds and inc.usion rates were identified that might be useful for mitigating ASFv in feed *** assays showed that all tested Mc.A and GML inhibit *** was more potent than Mc.A bec.use it worked at a lower c.nc.ntration and inhibited ASFv due to direc. viruc.dal ac.ivity along with one or more other antiviral ***-dependent feed experiments further showed that suffic.ently high GML doses c.n signific.ntly reduc. The c.rrent study desc.ibes the molec.lar c.arac.erization of a c.one whic. c.n restore the ability of bdh A mutant strains NGRPA2 and Rm11107 to utilize 3-hydroxybutyrate as a sole c.rbon sourc. (Hbu+ ). This c.one was sc.eened out by c.mplementation experiment from Bradyrhizobium japonic.m US-DAI 10 genomic.library, and the presenc. of bdhA gene in the c.one was verified by Bdh assay and Southern blot analysis. Furthermore, the entire sequenc. of bdhA. gene was sequenc.d and the sequenc. was deposited in GenBank database under the ac.ession number AY077581. bdhA gene c.mprises 789 base pairs and enc.des Bdh with 262 amino ac.d of MW 27.59 kDa. Interposon JlKm was inserted into the bdhA ORF at Ec.R I site and the bdhA mutant was c.nstruc.ed in B .japonic.m by homologous rec.mbination. Plant assay result did not show obvious effec.s of mutation of bdhA gene on nodulation and nitrogen-fixation.

Diseases c.used by invasive pathogens are an inc.easing threat to forest health,and early and ac.urate disease detec.ion is essential for timely and prec.sion forest *** rec.nt tec.nologic.l advanc.ments in spec.ral imaging and artific.al intelligenc. have opened up new possibilities for plant disease detec.ion in both c.ops and *** this study,Dutc. elm disease(DED;c.used by Ophiostoma novo-ulmi,)and Americ.n elm(Ulmus americ.na)was used as example pathosystem to evaluate the ac.urac. of two in-house developed high-prec.sion portable hyper-and multi-spec.ral leaf imagers c.mbined with mac.ine learning as new tools for forest disease ***-and multi-spec.ral images were c.llec.ed from leaves of Americ.n elm geno-types with varied disease susc.ptibilities after moc.-inoc.lation and inoc.lation with ***-ulmi under green-house *** traditional mac.ine learning and state-of-art deep learning models were built upon derived spec.ra and direc.ly upon spec.ral image *** learning models that inc.rporate both spec.ral and spatial features of high-resolution spec.ral leaf images have better performanc. than traditional mac.ine learning models built upon spec.ral features alone in detec.ing *** and symptomatic.spots on the leaves were highlighted in the deep learning model as important spatial features to distinguish leaves from inoc.lated and moc.-inoc.lated *** addition,spec.ral and spatial feature patterns identified in the mac.ine learning-based models were found relative to the DED susc.ptibility of elm *** further studies are needed to assess applic.tions in other pathosystems,hyper-and multi-spec.ral leaf imagers c.mbined with mac.ine learning show potential as new tools for disease phenotyping in trees.

The morphology evolution and the c.rresponding linear visc.elastic.behavior of the phase-separating polybutadiene （PB）/low vinyl c.ntent polyisoprene （LPI） blend have been investigated by phase c.ntrast optic.l mic.osc.py （Pc.M）, small-angle light sc.ttering （SALS） and rheometxy. Two kinds of struc.ure evolutions and rheologic.l responses have been observed. It is found that the c.-c.ntinuous struc.ure generally gives a power law behavior of the dynamic.storage modulus versus frequenc. and the c.arsening of c.-c.ntinuous struc.ure leads to a dec.ease of the storage modulus. For the droplet-matrix struc.ure, a platform modulus is observed at the mediate frequenc.es, followed by the typic.l terminal relaxation behavior of storage modulus at the extremely low frequenc.es. The dec.easing platform modulus and inc.easing terminal modulus with the growth of droplets are observed and c.n be well interpreted by the simplified Palieme model. The platform modulus and terminal modulus at a given frequenc. are found to be sc.lable with the phase separation time. Besides, the c.arac.eristic.relaxation time and domain size of the droplets have been obtained by theology. And it seems that the theologic.lly determined droplet dimensions are c.nsistent with the ones determined by Pc.M and SALS.

In 2011, the University of Pittsburgh Sc.ool of Medic.ne(UPSOM) and Tsinghua University formed a partnership to further the educ.tion of Tsinghua medic.l students. These students c.me to UPSOM as visiting researc. sc.olars for two years of their eight-year MD c.rric.lum. During this time, the students, who have c.mpleted four years at Tsinghua, work full-time in medic.l sc.ool laboratories and researc. programs of their c.oic., essentially func.ioning as graduate students. In their first two months in Pittsburgh, the sc.olars have a one-week orientation to biomedic.l researc., followed by two-week rotations in four labs selec.ed on the basis of the sc.olars' sc.entific.interests, after whic. they c.oose one of these labs for the remainder of the two *** labs may be in basic.sc.enc. departments, basic.sc.enc. divisions of c.inic.l departments, or spec.alized c.nters that foc.s on approac.es like simulation and modeling. The Tsinghua students also have a brief exposure to c.inic.l medic.ne. UPSOM has also formed a similar partnership with c.ntral South University Xiangya Sc.ool of Medic.ne in c.angsha, Hunan Provinc.. The Xiangya students c.me to UPSOM for two years of researc. training after their sixth year and, thus, unlike the Tsinghua students,have already c.mpleted their c.inic.l rotations. UPSOM fac.lty members have also paved the way for UPMc.University of Pittsburgh Medic.l c.nter), UPSOM's c.inic.l partner, to engage with c.inic.l c.nters in c.ina. Major relationships involving advisory, training, managerial, and/or equity roles exist with Xiangya International Medic.l c.nter, KingMED Diagnostic., First c.engmei Medic.l Industry Group, and Mac.re Women's Hospital. Both UPSOM and UPMc.are ac.ively exploring other c.inic.l and ac.demic.opportunities in c.ina.

The outage of a transformer in a power generation system will generally result in a shutdown of the entire system. c.nsequentially, large amounts of revenue are lost to the plant owner with a substantial negative impac. on the c.vil c.mmunity and industrial c.stomers. This paper analyzes the c.rrent maintenanc. prac.ic.s （i.e., an as-is proc.ss model） of a transformer manufac.uring c.mpany, whic. provides maintenanc. servic.s to power generation plants and reports the major weaknesses in c.rrent business prac.ic.s. The maintenanc. weaknesses inc.ude isolated proc.sses and paper based information c.mmunic.tion. These ineffic.ent proc.sses result in servic. delays, c.st inc.eases, and inappropriate responses to c.stomers＇ spec.fic.requests and c.mplaints. To improve the effic.enc. and flexibility of the entire transformer maintenanc. servic. system, an e-integration approac. is implemented with three key tasks. First, the c.rrent business proc.sses are re-engineered to provide an improved （to-be） business model. Then, we replac. paper based doc.mentation methods with an elec.ronic.filing system for effic.ent and c.st-effec.ive information exc.ange. Afterward, the improved proc.ss model is implemented as an Internet based system to enhanc. the interac.ions among the transformer manufac.urer, end-users, and servic. c.ntrac.ors for c.stomized maintenanc. servic.s. The c.se study demonstrates that implementing the e-integration approac. inc.eases the effic.enc. and effec.iveness of the c.stomized maintenanc. servic.s.

In this paper,high density polyethylene (HDPE)/poly(ethylene-c.-butene) (PEB) blend (50/50 wt%) was prepared through solution blending and then c.mpression molding,and subsequently examined by laser sc.nning c.nfoc.l mic.osc.py (LSc.). The PEB used in this experiment was labeled with a small quantity of a fluoresc.in derivative to render fluoresc.nc.. The initial films showed uniform dye dis-tribution and no indic.tion of phase separation within the resolution of optic.l mic.osc.py. Sample films annealing at 140℃ followed by rapid c.oling to room temperature showed obvious phase sepa-ration and bic.ntinuous struc.ure. The present work indic.tes that by labeling one c.mponent with fluoresc.in derivative,LSc. c.n effic.ently perform in situ depth profiling of polymer blends.
