Multi-omics analysis reveals the genetic and environmental factors in shaping the gut resistome of a keystone rodent species

Understanding the emergence and spread of antibiotic resistance genes （ARGs） in wildlife is critical for the health of humans and animals from a “One Health” perspective. The gut microbiota serve as a reservoir for ARGs; however, it remains poorly understood how environmental and host genetic factors influence ARGs by affecting the gut microbiota. To elucidate this, we analyzed whole-genome resequencing data from 79 individuals of Brandt’s vole in two geographic locations with different antibiotics usage, together with metabolomic data and shotgun sequencing data. A high diversity of ARGs （851 subtypes） was observed in vole’s gut, with a large variation in ARG composition between individuals from Xilingol and Hulunbuir in China. The diversity and composition of ARGs were strongly correlated with variations in gut microbiota community structure. Genome-wide association studies revealed that 803 loci were significantly associated (P<5.05×10-9)with 31 bacterial species, and bipartite networks identified 906 bacterial species-ARGs associations. Structural equation modeling analysis showed that host genetic factors, air temperature, and presence of pollutants （Bisphenol A） significantly affected gut microbiota community structure, which eventually regulated the diversity of ARGs. The present study advances our understanding of the complex host-environment interactions that underlie the spread of ARGs in the natural environments.

Influenza A virus has caused huge damage to human health and poultry production worldwide,but its global transmission patterns and influencing factors remain ***,by using the Nearest Genetic Distance Approach with genetic sequences data,we reconstructed the global transmission patterns of 4 most common subtypes of influenza A virus(H1N1,H3N2,H5N1,and H7N9)and analyzed associations of transmission velocity of these influenza viruses with environmental *** found that the transmission patterns of influenza viruses and their associations with environmental factors were closely related to their host properties.H1N1 and H3N2,which are mainly held by humans,are transmitted between regions at high velocity and over long distances,which may be due to human transportation via airplane;while H5N1 and H7N9,which are mainly carried by animals,are transmitted locally at short distances and at low velocity,which may be facilitated by poultry transportation via railways or high ways.H1N1 and H3N2 spread faster in cold seasons,while H5N1 spread faster in both cold and warm seasons,and H7N9 spread faster in wet seasons.H1N1,H3N2,and H5N1 spread faster in places with both high and low human *** study provided novel insights into the global transmission patterns,processes,and management strategies for influenza under accelerated global change.

2022年,联合国政府间气候变化专门委员会(IPCC)的第六次评估报告《气候变化2022:影响、适应和脆弱性》和中国气象局《中国气候变化蓝皮书(2022)》对外发布。文章简要介绍了其中有关气候变化的生态影响及适应对策的评估结果,并参考其他文献,介绍了有关中国的相关研究进展。第六次评估报告和相关研究表明,全球气候变暖及其引发的生态影响是十分显著的,主要包括:物候提前,植物生长季延长;物种分布区向极地移动或向高海拔地区移动、树线升高;物种局地灭绝或栖息地退缩;疫病发生频次或强度升高、范围扩大。这些生态影响在不同地区、不同类群间存在一定差异。全球要进一步采取必要的适应和减缓措施,应对不断加剧的气候变化对人类及其赖以生存的生态系统所带来的破坏与挑战。第六次评估报告和相关研究对我国如何应对气候变化也具有重要启示作用。为制定和提出科学合理的气候变化应对和缓解对策,我国急需进一步加强气候变化生态学及对策研究。

Photocatalytic activation of sulfite by N-doped porous biochar/MnFe_(2)O_(4) interface-driven catalyst for efficient degradation of tetracycline

A novel photo-catalytic system composed of N-doped biochars(NBCs),MnFe_(2)O_(4) and sulfite activation under ultraviolet(NBCs/MnFe_(2)O_(4)/sulfite/UV)was constructed to realize the efficient eliminate of tetracycline(TC).As the carrier of MnFe_(2)O_(4),NBCs were synthesized from alfalfa,which has large specific surface area,graphite like structure and hierarchical porous *** adsorption isotherm indicated that NBCs/MnFe_(2)O_(4)-2:1 had the best adsorption performance for TC(347.56 mg g^(-1)).Through synergistic adsorption and photocatalysis,the removal rate of TC reached 84%,which was significantly higher than that of MnFe_(2)O_(4).Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and Photoluminescence(PL)characterization results showed that the introduction of NBCs improved the separation efficiency of photogenerated electron and hole pairs and enhanced the photocatalytic ***,the adsorption,degradation mechanism and degradation path of TC by the catalyst were systematically analyzed by coupling HPLC–MS measurement with the theoretical *** the advantages of excellent degradation performance,low cost,easy separation and environmental friendliness of NBCs/MnFe_(2)O_(4),this work was expected to provide a new path for the practical application of biochar.

Reliability of a Multicomponent Stress-strength Model Based on a Bivariate Kumaraswamy Distribution with Censored Data

A historical review of hybrid rice breeding

The development of germplasm resources and advances in breeding methods have led to steady increases in yield and quality of rice (Oryza sativa L.). Three milestones in the recent history of rice breeding have contributed to these increases: dwarf rice breeding, hybrid rice breeding, and super rice breeding. On the 50th anniversary of the success of three-line hybrid rice,we highlight important scientific discoveries in rice breeding that were made by Chinese scientists and summarize the broader history of the field. We discuss the strategies that could be used in the future to optimize rice breeding further in the hope that China will continue to play a leading role in international rice breeding.

Effect of Al_(2)O_(3)/SiO_(2) mass ratio and CaO content on viscosity and structure of slag for pyrometallurgical processing of spent automotive catalysts

The effect of Al_(2)O_(3)/SiO_(2) mass ratio and CaO content on the viscosity and structure of the CaO-Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)-6MgO-1.5ZrO_(2)-1.5CeO_(2) slag was *** results show that with the increase in Al_(2)O_(3)/SiO_(2) mass ratio,the viscous flow units within the slag gradually change from Si-O-Si to Al-O-Al and ***,the substitution of Al_(2)O_(3) for SiO_(2) leads to the transformation of Si-O bonds towards weaker Al-O bonds,which weaken the bond strength of the aluminosilicate networks,thus leading to a decrease in the viscosity of *** increase in CaO content effectively promotes the depolymerization of the aluminosilicate networks,resulting in a significant decrease in the viscosity of the *** slag with Al_(2)O_(3)/SiO_(2) of 0.7-1.5 and CaO of 30 wt.%shows promise as the reference slag system for the Fe-collection smelting of spent automotive catalysts due to its good comprehensive performance.
