Storage, form, and influencing factors of karst inorganic carbon in a carbonate area in China

Carbonate rock chemical weathering carbon sinks reduce the rate of increase of the atmospheric CO_(2) concentration and global warming. However, uncertainty still exists in the estimation results of carbonate rock chemical weathering carbon sink fluxes(CCSF), and the contributions of climate change and ecological restoration to the CCSF are not clear. To this end, we compiled published site data on ion concentrations in different watersheds in China and used a classical thermodynamic dissolution model to reassess the potential and spatial and temporal patterns of the CCSF in China from 1991 to 2020. We quantified the contributions of temperature(MAT), precipitation(MAP), evapotranspiration(ET), soil water(SM), and the normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI) to the CCSF. The results revealed that(1) China's CCSF was 22.76 t CO_(2)km^(-2)yr^(-1), which was higher than the global average(15.77 t CO_(2)km^(-2)yr^(-1)). The total carbonate rock chemical weathering carbon sink(CCS) was 4772.67×10^(4)t CO_(2), contributing 14.91% of the global CCS through a carbonate rock area of 252.98×10^(4)km^(-2).(2) China's CCSF decreased gradually from southeast to northwest, with values of 33.14, 12.93, and7.27 t CO_(2)km^(-2)yr^(-1)in the southern karst, Qinghai-Tibetan karst, and northern karst regions, respectively.(3) The overall CCSF in China exhibited an increasing trend from 1991 to 2020, with a rate of increase of 0.16 t CO_(2)km^(-2)yr^(-1).(4) The contributions of the MAP, MAT, ET, SM, and NDVI to the CCSF were 63.3%, 3.02%, 27.5%, 3.1%, and 3.05%, respectively. Among them, the increase in precipitation was the main contributor to the increase in the CCSF in China over the last 30 years, while the enhancement of ET offset part of the positive contribution of the increase in precipitation to the CCSF. Insufficient remyelination due to impaired oligodendrocyte precursor cell(OPC)differentiation and maturation is strongly associated with irreversible white matter injury(WMI)and neurological deficits.We analyzed whole transcriptome expression to elucidate the potential role and underlying mechanism of action of lipocalin-2(LCN2)in OPC differentiation and WMI and identified the receptor SCL22A17 and downstream transcription factor early growth response protein 1(EGR1)as the key signals contributing to LCN2-mediated insufficient OPC remyelination.In LCN-knockdown and OPC EGR1 conditional-knockout mice,we discovered enhanced OPC differentiation in developing and injured white matter(WM);consistent with this,the specific inactivation of LCN2/SCl22A17/EGR1 signaling promoted remyelination and neurological recovery in both atypical,acute WMI due to subarachnoid hemorrhage and typical,chronic WMI due to multiple sclerosis.This potentially represents a novel strategy to enhance differentiation and remyelination in patients with white matter injury.

Acyl fluorides are powerful synthons for acylation with wide application in the synthesis of valued compounds,especially peptides.Herein,a practical and catalyst-free method for the synthesis of acyl fluorides from aldehydes via C(sp^(2))-H fluorination is reported.This method enables the conversion of both aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes into acyl fluorides in good to excellent yields by visible-light under mild conditions in the absence of transition-metal and external photosensitizer.A variety of functional groups were well tolerated for this transformation.This green method provides a practical pathway to synthesize acyl fluorides under mild conditions.

为探讨不同政府补贴情形下绿色供应链创新努力最优决策问题,本研究构建由制造商主导,供应商和零售商组成的绿色供应链,供应商和制造商进行产品绿色创新努力,零售商进行定价。通过分析政府对供应商、制造商和消费者进行补贴的3种情形,分别构建绿色供应链成员的利润函数模型,运用博弈理论和逆向归纳法,优化得到不同补贴情形下各成员的最优决策和利润,并探讨了产品绿色水平敏感系数和政府补贴总额对绿色供应链最优策略及利润的影响。研究表明,当政府对供应商和制造商进行补贴时,可获得较高的产品绿色创新努力程度;当政府对消费者进行补贴时,可使供应商和制造商获利较多,而零售商则在政府对制造商进行补贴时盈利最高。

A mild and efficient synthesis for the biaryl acids via rhodium-catalyzed cross-dehydrogenative coupling reaction has been developed. This novel protocol with sodium chlorite as an oxidant featured many advantages such as mild reaction conditions, high regioselectivity, tolerance of various functional groups, and good to excellent yields.

Geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate-mediated protein geranylgeranylation regulates endothelial cell proliferation and apoptosis during vasculogenesis in mouse embryo

Vascular development is essential for the establishment of the circulatory system during embryonic development and requires the proliferation of endothelial cells.However,the underpinning regulatory mechanisms are not well understood.Here,we report that geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate(GGPP),a metabolite involved in protein geranylgeranylation,plays an indispensable role in embryonic vascular development.GGPP is synthesized by geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate synthase(GGPPS)in the mevalonate pathway.The selective knockout of Ggpps in endothelial cells led to aberrant vascular development and embryonic lethality,resulting from the decreased proliferation and enhanced apoptosis of endothelial cells during vasculogenesis.The defect in protein geranylgeranylation induced by GGPP depletion inhibited the membrane localization of Rho A and enhanced yes-associated protein(YAP)phosphorylation,thereby prohibiting the entry of YAP into the nucleus and the expression of YAP target genes related to cell proliferation and the antiapoptosis process.Moreover,inhibition of the mevalonate pathway by simvastatin induced endothelial cell proliferation defects and apoptosis,which were ameliorated by GGPP.Geranylgeraniol(GGOH),a precursor of GGPP,ameliorated the harmful effects of simvastatin on vascular development of developing fetuses in pregnant mice.These results indicate that GGPP-mediated protein geranylgeranylation is essential for endothelial cell proliferation and the antiapoptosis process during embryonic vascular development.

Carbon emissions from land use(ELUC)are an important part of anthropogenic CO_(2) emissions,but its size and location remain uncertain,and our knowledge of the relationship between ELUC and GDP remains partial.We showed that the carbon emissions directly caused by land use change(direct ELUC)during 1992-2015 was 26.54 Pg C(1.15 Pg C yr^(-1)),with a decreased trend and a net reduction rate of0.15 Pg C yr^(-1).The areas that exhibited reductions were concentrated in South America,Central Africa,and Southeast Asia,and those with increments were scattered in Northwestern North America,Eastern South America,Central Africa,East Asia,and parts of Southeast Asia.For the indirect carbon emissions from the utilization of built-up land(indirect ELUC),it manifested an upward trend with a total emission of 27.51 Pg C(1.2 Pg C yr^(-1)).The total value resulted by global ELUC was $136.3×10^(9) US,and the value of annual was equivalent to 3.7 times the GDP of the Central African Republic in 2015($5.93×10^(9) US yr^(-1)).Among the 79 countries and regions considered in this study,54 represented the upward GDP with increased emissions,and only 25 experienced GDP growth with emission reductions.These findings highlight the pivotal role of land use change in the carbon cycle and the significance of coordinated development between GDP and carbon emissions.

A carbon-neutrality-capactiy index for evaluating carbon sink contributions

The accurate determination of the carbon-neutrality capacity(CNC)of a region is crucial for developing policies related to emissions and climate change.However,a systematic diagnostic method for determining the CNC that considers the rock chemical weathering carbon sink(RCS)is lacking.Moreover,it is challenging but indispensable to establish a fast and practical index model to determine the CNC.Here,we selected Guizhou as the study area,used the methods for different types of carbon sinks,and constructed a CNC index(CNCI)model.We found that:(1)the carbonate rock chemical weathering carbon sink flux was 30.3 t CO_(2)km^(-2)yr^(-1).Guizhou accounted for 1.8%of the land area and contributed 5.4%of the carbonate chemical weathering carbon sink;(2)the silicate rock chemical weathering carbon sink and its flux were 1.44×10^(3)t CO_(2)and 2.43 t CO_(2)km^(-2)yr^(-1),respectively;(3)the vegetation-soil ecosystem carbon sink and its flux were 1.37×10^(8)t CO_(2)and 831.70 t CO_(2)km^(-2)yr^(-1),respectively;(4)the carbon emissions(CEs)were 280 Tg CO_(2),about 2.8%of the total for China;and(5)the total carbon sinks in Guizhou were 160 Tg CO_(2),with a CNCI of 57%,which is 4.8 times of China and 2.1 times of the world.In summary,we conducted a systematic diagnosis of the CNC considering the RCS and established a CNCI model.The results of this study have a strong implication and significance for national and global CNC determination and gap analysis.

目的探讨治疗老年骨质疏松性骨折的方剂功效和中医证型,为临床辨证论治和遣方用药提供一些理论指导和参考依据。方法运用数据库对2021年5月31日以前的中药治疗老年骨质疏松性骨折的中文文献进行检索,整理、归纳和分析出相关方剂功效和中医证型。结果中药内服治疗老年骨质疏松性骨折前10位的中医证型依次为气滞血瘀、肝肾不足、骨断筋伤、脉络瘀阻、痹阻经络、气虚血瘀、气血亏虚、筋脉失养、邪毒内蕴、脾胃虚弱;前10位的方剂功效依次为活血化瘀、强筋壮骨、补益肝肾、接骨续筋、消肿止痛、行气止痛、舒筋活络、补气养血、健脾益气、益气活血。结论中药内服治疗老年骨质疏松性骨折的方剂功效可归纳为:活血化瘀、消肿止痛等为主的泻法;补益肝肾、强壮筋骨等为主的补法;益气活血的攻补兼施之法。中医证型可归纳为:气滞血瘀、骨断筋伤等为主的实证;肝肾不足、气血亏虚等为主的虚证;气虚血瘀为主的虚实夹杂之证。
