A 3D-printed microhemispherical shell resonator with electrostatic tuning for a Coriolis vibratory gyroscope

The emergence of microhemispherical resonant gyroscopes,which integrate the advantages of exceptional stability and long lifetime with miniaturization,has afforded new possibilities for the development of whole-angle gyroscopes.However,existing methods used for manufacturing microhemispherical resonant gyroscopes based on MEMS technology face the primary drawback of intricate and costly processing.here,we report the design,fabrication,and characterization of the first 3D-printable microhemispherical shell resonator for a Coriolis vibrating gyroscope.We remarkably achieve fabrication in just two steps bypassing the dozen or so steps required in traditional micromachining.By utilizing the intricate shaping capability and ultrahigh precision offered by projection microstereolithography,we fabricate 3D high-aspect-ratio resonant structures and controllable capacitive air gaps,both of which are extremely difficult to obtain via MEMS technology.In addition,the resonance frequency of the fabricated resonators can be tuned by electrostatic forces,and the fabricated resonators exhibit a higher quality factor in air than do typical MEMS microhemispherical resonators.This work demonstrates the feasibility of rapidly batch-manufacturing microhemispherical shell resonators,paving the way for the development of microhemispherical resonator gyroscopes for portable inertial navigation.Moreover,this particular design concept could be further applied to increase uptake of resonator tools in the MEMS community.

An Interfacial Gel Electrode Patch with Tunable Hydrogen Bond Network for Electromyographic Sensing and Discrimination

The sensitivity and fidelity of surface electromyography(sEMG)signal monitoring is critical for muscle status and fatigue assessment,prosthetic control,and gesture recognition.However,the incompatible skin-electrode interface and complex electrophysiological environment restrict the sensitive acquisition and accurate analysis of sEMG signals.Focused on the impedance of the skin-electrode interface issue,we developed an interfacial gel electrode patch with a tunable hydrogen bond network to simultaneously achieve a conformal interface,suitable adhesion,and high conductivity for sEMG signal monitoring.By exploiting hydroxyethylidene diphosphonic acid(heDP)and 2-hydroxyphosphono-acetic acid(HPAA)as hydrogen bonding regulators were introduced into the polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)-based hydrogel network to regulate the hydrogen bond cross-linking network.As a result,the balance of elastic modulus,adhesion,and electrical conductivity of PVA-heDP-HPAA(PHH)hydrogel are achieved.The reliable electrodeskin interface is manipulated to achieve conformal contact by matching the elastic modulus,reducing the gap of electrode-skin interface by adhesion,and promoting ion and electron conduction by electrical conductivity.The PHH electrode patches exhibit a lower interfacial impedance(12.56 kΩ)and a signal-to-noise ratio of 38.09±1.28 dB for accurate analysis of muscle strength and evaluation of the fatigue state.With the assistance of the artificial neural network algorithm,seven gestures can be recognized with 100%prediction accuracy.The interfacial gel electrode patch contributes a bio-matching electrophysiological platform for prosthetic control,human–machine interaction,and clinical or athletic auxiliary monitoring.

Medical devices are instruments and other tools that act on the human body to aid clinical diagnosis and disease treatment,playing an indispensable role in modern medicine.Nowadays,the increasing demand for personalized medical devices poses a significant challenge to traditional manufacturing methods.The emerging manufacturing technology of three-dimensional(3D)printing as an alternative has shown exciting applications in the medical field and is an ideal method for manufacturing such personalized medical devices with complex structures.However,the application of this new technology has also brought new risks to medical devices,making 3D-printed devices face severe challenges due to insufficient regulation and the lack of standards to provide guidance to the industry.This review aims to summarize the current regulatory landscape and existing research on the standardization of 3D-printed medical devices in China,and provide ideas to address these challenges.We focus on the aspects concerned by the regulatory authorities in 3D-printed medical devices,highlighting the quality system of such devices,and discuss the guidelines that manufacturers should follow,as well as the current limitations and the feasible path of regulation and standardization work based on this perspective.The key points of the whole process quality control,performance evaluation methods and the concept of whole life cycle management of 3D-printed medical devices are emphasized.Furthermore,the significance of regulation and standardization is pointed out.Finally,aspects worthy of attention and future perspectives in this field are discussed.

Micro-/nano-patterns on hydrogels are widely used in cell patterning.However,manufacturing molds with traditional lithography is time-consuming and expensive.In addition,the excessive demolding force can easily damage patterns since biocompatible hydrogels are ultra-soft or brittle.here,we presented a novel method for rapid and mass fabrication of cell patterns.High-precision three-dimensional(3D)printing was used to manufacture a mold with a resolution of 2µm,and the gelatin-based hydrogel was cured by thermal–photo-crosslinking so that the low-concentration and low-substitutionrate hydrogel could be demolded successfully.We found that pre-cooling before illumination made gelatin-based hydrogels resilient due to the partial regain of triple-helix structures.With this method,arbitrarily customized hydrogel patterns with a feature size of 6–80µm can be fabricated stably and at low cost.When cardiomyocytes were seeded on ultra-soft hydrogels with parallel groove structures,a consistent and spontaneous beating with 216 beats per minute(BPM)could be observed,approaching the natural beating rate of rat hearts(300 BPM).Overall,this work provides a general scheme for manufacturing cell patterns which has great potential for cell ethology and tissue repair.

heat exposure promotes apoptosis and pyroptosis in Sertoli cells

heat stress is an important influence on the male reproductive organs.Therefore,the effects of heat stress on genes or pathways related to the reproductive system of male mice were experimentally explored in this paper to further determine the effects of heat stimulation on mammals.herein,models of heat-exposed mouse testicular tissue and heatexcited cells were successfully established.Many scorched vesicles were found after heat excitation of testis supporting cells,testicular mesenchymal(TM4)cells.Western blot,in situ terminal deoxynucleotide transferase dUTP Nick end labeling(TUNEL)and transmission electron microscopy showed that membrane rupture,mitochondrial damage and autophagic vesicles occurred in TM4 cells after thermal excitation.The N-segment fragment of the associated protein shear was increased,and the TUNEL result was positive.In conclusion,thermal excitation induced apoptosis and scorch death in TM4 cells.Thus,the Hippo pathway and apoptosis-related pathway were significantly enriched after heat stimulation in mouse testis,and the scorch death effect in TM4 cells was induced by heat excitation.

杭州某商业综合体结构总高度为38.20m,楼层数为地上7层,地下3层,采用框架结构体系。建筑功能复杂,存在扭转不规则、构件间断、个别楼层楼板不连续和局部的穿层柱共4项一般不规则,属含多项一般不规则的超限高层建筑结构。介绍了该项目的特点、超限情况、基于性能的抗震设计目标及对结构的关键部位进行细部分析,通过YJK、ETABS和SAUSAGE多种计算程序对结构整体进行了弹性和弹塑性计算分析、结构抗震性能化设计、各项专项分析等,综合计算分析表明,通过合理的结构布置及加强措施,该结构具有良好的抗震性能。

Correlation between the gut microbiome and neurodegenerative diseases:a review of metagenomics evidence

A growing body of evidence suggests that the gut microbiota contributes to the development of neurodegenerative diseases via the microbiota-gut-brain axis.As a contributing factor,microbiota dysbiosis always occurs in pathological changes of neurodegenerative diseases,such as Alzheimer’s disease,Parkinson’s disease,and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.High-throughput sequencing technology has helped to reveal that the bidirectional communication between the central nervous system and the enteric nervous system is facilitated by the microbiota’s diverse microorganisms,and for both neuroimmune and neuroendocrine systems.here,we summarize the bioinformatics analysis and wet-biology validation for the gut metagenomics in neurodegenerative diseases,with an emphasis on multi-omics studies and the gut virome.The pathogen-associated signaling biomarkers for identifying brain disorders and potential therapeutic targets are also elucidated.Finally,we discuss the role of diet,prebiotics,probiotics,postbiotics and exercise interventions in remodeling the microbiome and reducing the symptoms of neurodegenerative diseases.

Preferentially selective extraction of lithium from spent LiCoO_(2)cathodes by medium-temperature carbon reduction roasting

Lithium recovery from spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)have attracted extensive attention due to the skyrocketing price of lithium.The medium-temperature carbon reduction roasting was proposed to preferential selective extraction of lithium from spent Li-CoO_(2)(LCO)cathodes to overcome the incomplete recovery and loss of lithium during the recycling process.The LCO layered structure was destroyed and lithium was completely converted into water-soluble Li2CO_(3)under a suitable temperature to control the reduced state of the cobalt oxide.The Co metal agglomerates generated during medium-temperature carbon reduction roasting were broken by wet grinding and ultrasonic crushing to release the entrained lithium.The results showed that 99.10%of the whole lithium could be recovered as Li2CO_(3)with a purity of 99.55%.This work provided a new perspective on the preferentially selective extraction of lithium from spent lithium batteries.

Tunable quantum dots in monolithic Fabry-Perot microcavities for high-performance single-photon sources

Cavity-enhanced single quantum dots(QDs)are the main approach towards ultra-high-performance solid-state quantum light sources for scalable photonic quantum technologies.Nevertheless,harnessing the Purcell effect requires precise spectral and spatial alignment of the QDs’emission with the cavity mode,which is challenging for most cavities.here we have successfully integrated miniaturized Fabry-Perot microcavities with a piezoelectric actuator,and demonstrated a bright single-photon source derived from a deterministically coupled QD within this microcavity.Leveraging the cavity-membrane structures,we have achieved large spectral tunability via strain tuning.On resonance,a high Purcell factor of~9 is attained.The source delivers single photons with simultaneous high extraction efficiency of 0.58,high purity of 0.956(2)and high indistinguishability of 0.922(4).Together with its compact footprint,our scheme facilitates the scalable integration of indistinguishable quantum light sources on-chip,therefore removing a major barrier to the development of solid-state quantum information platforms based on QDs.
