Dear Editor, Anejaculation is a rare ejaculatory disorder in men （1%-4% of sexually active men） that can cause male factor infertility.1 Although these patients are generally healthy individuals that may have erections and nocturnal emissions, they cannot ejaculate. As we all know, there is evidence that the etiology of ejaculatory dysfunction is partially genetic, especially related to serotonergic genes.2 Here, we report two polymorphic regions in serotonin transporter （5-HTT） gene for the first time in three Chinese males with anejaculation.

County has played an important role in the history of China since it was first established as a basic administrative unit in the Qin Dynasty more than 2,000 years ago. Historic counties have not only performed administrative and economic functions but also carried and preserved basic information about culture and traditions of China. Not long ago, the Photographic Exhibition on the Cultural Heritage of Historic China, organized by China Cultural Relics Protection Foundation in partnership with the Palace Museum and China Institute of Toponymy, was held at the Forbidden City, displaying photographs on the cultures and traditions of the first 16 Historic Counties of China, with an objective to enhance the public’s awareness of the conservation of cultural heritage in these historic counties. In this study,the black carbon (BC) measurements in the atmosphere of Nanjing,China were continuously conducted from 2015 to 2018 using a Model AE-33 *** combining dataset of PM_(2.5),PM_(10),CO,NO_2,SO_2,O_3 and meteorological parameters,the temporal variations and the source apportionment of BC were given in this *** results showed that the PM_(2.5) mass concentrations decreased in Nanjing,with an average annual rate of variation of 6.50μg/(m^3·year).Differently,the annual average concentrations of BC increased with an average annual variation rate of 214.71 ng/(m^3·year).The seasonal variations showed the pattern of BC mass concentrations in winter>autumn>spring>*** diurnal variations of BC mass concentrations showed a double-peak in all four *** first peak occurred at approximately 7:00 in spring,summer and autumn and around 8:00 in *** second peak took place after 18:*** average AAE (absorption ?ngstr?m exponent) was 1.26 with a maximum of 1.35 during wintertime and the lowest(1.12) during *** addition,the AAE was smaller in the daytime than that at night,with a minimum occurring between 13:00 and 14:*** and visibility show a good power-function relationship at different humidity *** average values of the visibility thresholds of the BC mass concentrations in spring,summer,autumn and winter were 1.326,5.522,1.340 and 0.708μg/m^3,*** greater the relative humidity,the smaller the visibility threshold for the BC mass concentrations was.

IDEAL PLANT ARCHITECTURE1(IPA1)is a pivotal gene controlling plant architecture and grain ***,little is known about the effects of Triticum aestivum SQUAMOSA PROMOTER‐BINDING‐LIKE 14(TaSPL14),an IPA1 ortholog in wheat,on balancing yield traits and its regulatory mechanism in wheat(*** L.).Here,we determined that the *** GRAIN WIDTH2(TaGW2)‐TaSPL14 module influences the balance between tiller number and grain weight in *** of TaSPL14 resulted in a reduced tiller number and increased grain weight,whereas its knockout had the opposite effect,indicating that TaSPL14 negatively regulates tillering while positively regulating grain *** further identified TaGW2 as a novel interacting protein of TaSPL14 and confirmed its ability to mediate the ubiquitination and degradation of *** on our genetic evidence,TaGW2 acts as a positive regulator of tiller number,in addition to its known role as a negative regulator of grain weight,which is opposite to ***,combinations of TaSPL14‐7A and TaGW2‐6A haplotypes exhibit significantly additive effects on tiller number and grain weight in wheat *** findings provide insight into how the TaGW2‐TaSPL14 module regulates the trade‐off between tiller number and grain weight and its potential application in improving wheat yield.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a significant pathogen mainly causing healthcare-associated infections(HAIs).Newly emerging high-risk clones of *** with elevated virulence profiles furtherly cause severe community-acquired infections(CAIs).Usually,it is not common for *** to co-carry exoU and exoS genes,encoding two type III secretion system(T3SS)*** pathogenicity mechanism of exoS+/exoU+strains of *** remains ***,we provide detailed evidence for a subset of hypervirulent *** strains,which abundantly co-express and secrete the T3SS effectors ExoS and *** exoS+/exoU+*** strains were available to cause both HAIs and *** CAI-associated strains could elicit severe inflammation and hemorrhage,leading to higher death rates in a murine acute pneumonia model,and had great virulence potential in establishing chronic infections,demonstrating hypervirulence when compared to PAO1(exoS+/exoU-)and PA14(exoS-/exoU+).Both ExoS and ExoU were co-expressed and co-secreted in abundance in exoS+/exoU+*** abundant protein secretion could boost exoS+/exoU+strains’potentials for cytotoxicity in vitro and pathogenicity in *** evidence indicates that exoU acquisition is likely mediated by horizontal gene transfer(HGT)of the pathogenicity island PAPI-2,while deletion of exoU was sufficient to mitigate virulence in the exoS+/exoU+***,bioinformatics analysis showed that such exoS+/exoU+*** strains turned out to be widely distributed across the ***,the research provide detailed evidence for the high virulence and epidemicity of exoS+/exoU+strains of ***,highlighting an urgent need for surveillance against these high-risk hypervirulent strains.

Acid rain is a global environmental issue and causes serious adverse impacts on natural ecosystems and human *** acid rain and its subsequent impacts have been extensively studied in temperate regions and in big cities globally,but the monitoring of acid rain in non-urban areas in subtropical region is still ***,we analyze 18 years of water acidity observations from a non-urban site in western Pearl River Delta region,south *** 2000 to 2018,annual mean precipitation pH values in the study site showed a marked increase(P<0.0001)from 4.96 in 2000 to 6.88 in *** 18-year dataset of precipitation acidity shows a clear recovery from acid deposition over the annual period,dry seasons and wet *** a year,precipitation pH was relatively lower in dry seasons(5.46±0.95)than in wet seasons(5.80±0.89)during the whole study period,and the seasonal pattern of precipitation pH was amplified during drier years as a strong dilution effect was detected between precipitation amount and its *** pH of surface runoff water(4.74±0.70)was significantly lower than that of precipitation as a result of the regulating effects of the highly acidified soil and the rich humus on the forest *** groundwater pH(6.32±0.63)was significantly higher than the precipitation pH especially during dry *** results of the present study indicated that the groundwater has a strong acid buffer and neutralizing effects and thus plays an important role in supplies of clean water.
