There are more challenges for alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)via simultaneously expediting the electron-coupled water dissociation process(Volmer step)and the following electrochemical H_(2) desorption(Heyrovsky step).Hybrid amorphous electrocatalysts are highly desirable for efficient hydrogen evolution from water-alkali electrolyzers due to the bifunctionality for the different elementary steps of HER and optimal interactions with water molecules and the reactive hydrogen intermediates(Had).Herein,the synthesis of amorphous hybrid ultrathin(tungsten oxide/nickel hydroxide)hydrate(a-[WO_(3)/Ni(OH)_(2)]·0.2H_(2)O)nanosheets on nickel foam(NF)for efficient alkaline HER is *** structural and composition features of a-[WO_(3)/Ni(OH)_(2)]·0.2H_(2)O are characterized in *** resulting a-[WO_(3)/Ni(OH)_(2)]·0.2H_(2)O/NF electrocatalyst with the synergistic effect of both hybrid components for the HER elementary steps shows greatly improved the activity and durability for the HER with a low overpotential of-41 and-163 mV at-10 and-500 mA·cm^(-2),respectively,a Tafel slope as low as-72.9 mV·dec^(-1),and long-term stability of continuous electrolysis for at least 150 h accompanying by inappreciable overpotential change in 1 M *** the hybrid a-[WO_(3)/Ni(OH)_(2)]·0.2H_(2)O,Ni(OH)_(2) and WO_(3) moieties are separately responsible for accelerating dissociative adsorption of water and weakening Had adsorption strength,which is beneficial to the improvement of the alkaline HER activity.

This paper focuses on the effect of the phase offset of Leading-Edge(LE)morphing on the aerodynamic characteristics of a pitching NACA0012 *** an unstretched camber and using polynomial interpolation,an explicit expression for LE nonlinear morphing is proposed and implemented for the large pitching motion of the *** field results and aerodynamic forces are obtained by solving the unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations for both the airfoil’s pitching motion and LE ***,the index of instantaneous aerodynamic power is used to quantify the work done by the airflow in a dynamic *** to the instantaneous aerodynamic power and energy map,which denotes the energy transfer between the airfoil’s oscillation and flow field,the airfoil is subject to stall *** results show that LE morphing with an optimal phase offset of 315°reduces the energy extraction from the flow field,suppressing the stall flutter *** optimal phase offset is effective at different pitching axis positions of the *** results signify that LE morphing can suppress stall flutter by advancing the occurrence of the first LE vortex and increasing the nose-down moment during the upstroke period.

Drought is one of the most serious abiotic stresses to land *** sense and respond to drought stress to survive under water *** have studied how plants sense drought stress,or osmotic stress caused by drought,ever since Charles Darwin,and gradually obtained clues about osmotic stress sensing and signaling in *** stress is a physical stimulus that triggers many physiological changes at the cellular level,including changes in turgor,cell wall stiffness and integrity,membrane tension,and cell fluid volume,and plants may sense some of these stimuli and trigger downstream *** this review,we emphasized water potential and movements in organisms,compared putative signal inputs in cell wall-containing and cell wall-free organisms,prospected how plants sense changes in turgor,membrane tension,and cell fluid volume under osmotic stress according to advances in plants,animals,yeasts,and bacteria,summarized multilevel biochemical and physiological signal outputs,such as plasma membrane nanodomain formation,membrane water permeability,root hydrotropism,root halotropism,Casparian strip and suberin lamellae,and finally proposed a hypothesis that osmotic stress responses are likely to be a cocktail of signaling mediated by multiple *** also discussed the core scientific questions,provided perspective about the future directions in this field,and highlighted the importance of robust and smart root systems and efficient source-sink allocations for generating future high-yield stress-resistant crops and plants.

When seismic waves propagate through the geological formation, there is a significant loss of energy and a decrease in imaging resolution, because of the viscoacoustic properties of subsurface medium. This profoundly impacts seismic wavefield propagation, imaging and interpretation. To accurately image the true structure of subsurface medium, the consensus among geophysicists is to no longer treat subsurface medium as ideal homogeneous medium, but rather to incorporate the viscoacoustic properties of subsurface medium. Based on the generalized screen propagator using conventional acoustic wave equation(acoustic GSP), our developed method introduces viscoacoustic compensation strategy, and derives a one-way wave generalized screen propagator based on time-fractional viscoacoustic wave equation(viscoacoustic GSP). In numerical experiments, we conducted tests on two-dimensional multi-layer model and the Marmousi model. When comparing with the acoustic GSP using the acoustic data, we found that the imaging results of the viscoacoustic GSP using the viscoacoustic data showed a significant attenuation compensation effect, and achieved imaging results for both algorithms were essentially consistent. However, the imaging results of acoustic GSP using viscoacoustic data showed significant attenuation effects, especially for deep subsurface imaging. This indicates that we have proposed an effective method to compensate the attenuated seismic wavefield. Our application on a set of real seismic data demonstrated that the imaging performance of our proposed method in local areas surpassed that of the conventional acoustic GSP. This suggests that our proposed method holds practical value and can more accurately image real subsurface structures while enhancing imaging resolution compared with the conventional acoustic GSP. Understanding the quantitative responses of anisotropic dynamic properties in organic-rich shale with different kerogen content(KC)is of great significance in hydrocarbon exploration and *** controlled experiments with a single variable is challenging for natural shales due to their high variations in components,diagenesis conditions,or pore *** employed the hot-pressing technique to construct 11 well-controlled artificial shale with varying *** artificial shale samples were successive machined into prismatic shape for ultrasonic measurements along different *** revealed bedding perpendicular P-wave velocities are more sensitive to the increasing KC than bedding paralleling velocities due to the preferential alignments of *** elastic stiffnesses except C_(13)are generally decreasing with the increasing KC,the variation of C_(1) and C_(33)on kerogen content are more sensitive than those of C_(44)and C_(66).Apparent dynamic mechanical parameters(v and E)were found to have linear correlation with the true ones from complete anisotropic equations independent of KC,which hold value towards the interpretation of well logs consistently across formations,Anisotropic mechanical parameters(ΔE and brittlenessΔB)tend to decrease with the reducing KC,withΔB showing great sensitivity to KC *** the range of low KC(10%)shale,compilation of data from natural organic rich-shales globally verified the similar systematic relationships that can be empirically used to predict the fraction of KC in shales.
