Expression and regulatory network of long noncoding RNA in rats after spinal cord hemisection injury

Long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs)participate in a variety of biological processes and ***,the expression and function of lncRNAs after spinal cord injury has not been extensively *** this study of right side hemisection of the spinal cord at T10,we detected the expression of lncRNAs in the proximal tissue of T10 lamina at different time points and found 445 lncRNAs and 6522 mRNA were differentially *** divided the differentially expressed lncRNAs into 26 expression trends and analyzed Profile 25 and Profile 2,the two expression trends with the most significant *** results showed that the expression of 68 lncRNAs in Profile 25 rose first and remained high 3 days *** were 387 mRNAs co-expressed with the 68 lncRNAs in Profile *** co-expression network showed that the co-expressed genes were mainly enriched in cell division,inflammatory response,FcγR-mediated cell phagocytosis signaling pathway,cell cycle and *** expression of 56 lncRNAs in Profile2 first declined and remained low after 3 days *** were 387 mRNAs co-expressed with the 56 lncRNAs in Profile *** co-expression network showed that the co-expressed genes were mainly enriched in the chemical synaptic transmission process and in the signaling pathway of neuroactive ligand-receptor *** results provided the expression and regulatory network of the main lncRNAs after spinal cord injury and clarified their co-expressed gene enriched biological processes and signaling *** findings provide a new direction for the clinical treatment of spinal cord injury.

Amorphous hybrid tungsten oxide–nickel hydroxide nanosheets used as a highly efficient electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction

There are more challenges for alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)via simultaneously expediting the electron-coupled water dissociation process(Volmer step)and the following electrochemical H_(2) desorption(Heyrovsky step).Hybrid amorphous electrocatalysts are highly desirable for efficient hydrogen evolution from water-alkali electrolyzers due to the bifunctionality for the different elementary steps of HER and optimal interactions with water molecules and the reactive hydrogen intermediates(Had).Herein,the synthesis of amorphous hybrid ultrathin(tungsten oxide/nickel hydroxide)hydrate(a-[WO_(3)/Ni(OH)_(2)]·0.2H_(2)O)nanosheets on nickel foam(NF)for efficient alkaline HER is *** structural and composition features of a-[WO_(3)/Ni(OH)_(2)]·0.2H_(2)O are characterized in *** resulting a-[WO_(3)/Ni(OH)_(2)]·0.2H_(2)O/NF electrocatalyst with the synergistic effect of both hybrid components for the HER elementary steps shows greatly improved the activity and durability for the HER with a low overpotential of-41 and-163 mV at-10 and-500 mA·cm^(-2),respectively,a Tafel slope as low as-72.9 mV·dec^(-1),and long-term stability of continuous electrolysis for at least 150 h accompanying by inappreciable overpotential change in 1 M *** the hybrid a-[WO_(3)/Ni(OH)_(2)]·0.2H_(2)O,Ni(OH)_(2) and WO_(3) moieties are separately responsible for accelerating dissociative adsorption of water and weakening Had adsorption strength,which is beneficial to the improvement of the alkaline HER activity.

Glial cells play an important role in signal transduction,energy metabolism,extracellular ion homeostasis and neuroprotection of the central nervous ***,few studies have explained the potential effects of exosomes from glial cells on central nervous system health and *** this study,the genes expressed in exosomes from astrocytes and microglia were identified by deep RNA *** Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analysis indicated that several pathways in these exosomes are responsible for promoting neurodegenerative diseases,including Alzheimer's disease,Parkinson's disease and Huntington's *** ontology analysis showed that extracellular exosome,mitochondrion and growth factor activity were enriched in exosomes from the unique astrocyte group,while extracellular exosome and mitochondrion were enriched in exosomes from the unique microglia ***,combined with the screening of hub genes,the protein-protein interaction network analysis showed that exosomes from astrocytes influence neurodegenerative diseases through metabolic balance and ubiquitin-dependent protein balance,whereas exosomes from microglia influence neurodegenerative diseases through immune inflammation and oxidative *** there were differences in RNA expression between exosomes from astrocytes and microglia,the groups were related by the hub genes,ubiquitin B and heat shock protein family A(Hsp70) member *** B appeared to be involved in pleiotropic regulatory functions,including immune regulation,inflammation inhibition,protein catabolism,intracellular protein transport,exosomes and oxidative *** results revealed the clinical significance of exosomes from glia in neurodegenerative *** study was approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of Nantong University,China(approval No.S20180102-152) on January 2,2018.

Aerodynamic characteristics of a pitching airfoil with leading-edge morphing

This paper focuses on the effect of the phase offset of Leading-Edge(LE)morphing on the aerodynamic characteristics of a pitching NACA0012 *** an unstretched camber and using polynomial interpolation,an explicit expression for LE nonlinear morphing is proposed and implemented for the large pitching motion of the *** field results and aerodynamic forces are obtained by solving the unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations for both the airfoil’s pitching motion and LE ***,the index of instantaneous aerodynamic power is used to quantify the work done by the airflow in a dynamic *** to the instantaneous aerodynamic power and energy map,which denotes the energy transfer between the airfoil’s oscillation and flow field,the airfoil is subject to stall *** results show that LE morphing with an optimal phase offset of 315°reduces the energy extraction from the flow field,suppressing the stall flutter *** optimal phase offset is effective at different pitching axis positions of the *** results signify that LE morphing can suppress stall flutter by advancing the occurrence of the first LE vortex and increasing the nose-down moment during the upstroke period.

How plants sense and respond to osmotic stress

Drought is one of the most serious abiotic stresses to land *** sense and respond to drought stress to survive under water *** have studied how plants sense drought stress,or osmotic stress caused by drought,ever since Charles Darwin,and gradually obtained clues about osmotic stress sensing and signaling in *** stress is a physical stimulus that triggers many physiological changes at the cellular level,including changes in turgor,cell wall stiffness and integrity,membrane tension,and cell fluid volume,and plants may sense some of these stimuli and trigger downstream *** this review,we emphasized water potential and movements in organisms,compared putative signal inputs in cell wall-containing and cell wall-free organisms,prospected how plants sense changes in turgor,membrane tension,and cell fluid volume under osmotic stress according to advances in plants,animals,yeasts,and bacteria,summarized multilevel biochemical and physiological signal outputs,such as plasma membrane nanodomain formation,membrane water permeability,root hydrotropism,root halotropism,Casparian strip and suberin lamellae,and finally proposed a hypothesis that osmotic stress responses are likely to be a cocktail of signaling mediated by multiple *** also discussed the core scientific questions,provided perspective about the future directions in this field,and highlighted the importance of robust and smart root systems and efficient source-sink allocations for generating future high-yield stress-resistant crops and plants.

Because of the complexity and difficulty of realizing a multi-wavelength soliton state,reports on its internal dynamic characteristics are *** this study,the switching and periodic soliton explosion processes of the multi-wavelength soliton state in a negative dispersion passively mode-locked fiber laser are *** generation of the multi-wavelength soliton state undergoes the process of noise,oscillation,and stable mode-locking,and the splitting and annihilation of solitons with different group velocities directly impact the generation and disappearance of three *** and negative dispersion lead to different group velocities of *** presence and displacement of solitons with different group velocities cause soliton collisions,which lead to soliton explosions.A soliton experiences relative phase oscillation,chaos,and oscillation,as well as convergence and separation before and after an *** an increase in parameters related to pump power,single-soliton oscillation,multi-wavelength solitons,and chaos are found in experiments and simulations,proving the relevance and reliability between simulation and experimental *** work promotes the dynamical study of multi-soliton collisions in nonlinear science and the development of chaos theory in multi-comb lasers.

Failure transition of shear-to-dilation band of rock salt under triaxial stresses

Great potential of underground gas/energy storage in salt caverns seems to be a promising solution to support renewable *** the underground storage method,the operating cycle unfortunately may reach up to daily or even hourly,which generates complicated pressures on the salt ***,the mechanical behavior of rock salt may change and present distinct failure characteristics under different stress states,which affects the performance of salt cavern during the time period of full *** reproduce a similar loading condition on the cavern surrounding rock mass,the cyclic triaxial loading/unloading tests are performed on the rock salt to explore the mechanical transition behavior and failure characteristics under different *** results show that the rock salt samples pre-sent a diffused shear failure band with significant bulges at certain locations in low confining pressure conditions(e.g.5 MPa,10 MPa and 15 MPa),which is closely related to crystal misorientation and grain boundary *** the elevated confinement(e.g.20 MPa,30 MPa and 40 MPa),the dilation band dominates the failure mechanism,where the large-size halite crystals are crushed to be smaller size and new pores are *** failure transition mechanism revealed in the paper provides additional insight into the mechanical performance of salt caverns influenced by complicated stress states.

Particle Swarm Optimization Bat Algorithm Path Automatically Planning Research for Police Drones in Hilly Cities

Mountain cities are complex asymmetric dynamic network architectures,and the flight of UAVs in this environment is subject to various constraints,while efficiency is a crucial factor in the trajectory planning of police UAVs,which need to maintain high efficiency and safe flight paths between their starting and ending points,but the traditional trajectory planning method cannot meet the requirements of rapid maneuvering of police *** achieve this,a 3D terrain map is built,an objective function is established for the flight cost in the UAV trajectory planning process,and a planning algorithm called particle swarm optimization bat algorithm(PSOBA)is *** combines the characteristics of the bat algorithm(BA)and the particle swarm optimization algorithm(PSO)to improve population diversity and resolve the delayed convergence issue in the last phases of *** results show that PSOBA is more effective than BA,with a search time for the best solution that is approximately 20.43%shorter and a convergence value of the objective function that is approximately 38%*** is also able to plan a quicker,shorter,and safer flight path compared to other trail planning algorithms that enhance the bat *** findings suggest that PSOBA is a powerful algorithm with potential application value in UAV trajectory planning control in the mobile intelligence *** to the service of public social security.

Dimensional regulation in polyoxometalates is an effective strategy during the design and synthesis of polyoxometalates-based high proton conductors,but it is not available to ***,the precise regulation of dimensionality has been realized in an unprecedented gigantic molybdenum blue wheel family featuring pentagonal{(W)Mo5}motifs through optimizing the molar ratio of Mo/W,including[Gd_(2)Mo_(124)W_(14)O_(422)(H_(2)O)62]38-(0D-{Mo_(124)W_(14)},1),[Mo_(126)W_(14)O441(H_(2)O)51]^(70-)(1D-{Mo_(126)W_(14)}n,2),and[Mo_(124)W_(14)O_(430)(H_(2)O)50]60-(2D-{Mo_(124)W_(14)}n,3).Such important{(W)Mo5}structural motif brings new reactivity into gigantic Mo blue *** are different numbers and sites of{Mo2}defects in each wheel-shaped monomer in 1-3,which leads to the monomers of 2 and 3 to form 1D and 2D architectures via Mo-O-Mo covalent bonds driven by{Mo2}-mediated H_(2)O ligands substitution process,respectively,thus achieving the controllable dimensional *** expected,the proton conductivity of 3 is 10 times higher than that of 1 and 1.7 times higher than that of *** continuous proton hopping sites in 2D network are responsible for the enhanced proton conductivity with lower activation *** study highlights that this dimensional regulation approach remains great potential in preparing polyoxometalates-based high proton conductive materials.
