Roles of Optineurin and Extracellular Vesicles in Glaucomatous Retinal Cell Loss

Objective To explore the role of extracellular vesicles(EVs)in the pathogenesis of glaucoma caused by E50K *** A photoreceptor cell line,RGC-5,was transfected with empty plasmids and plasmids expressing wild-type(WT)optineurin(OPTN)or E50K OPTN to investigate the effects of OPTN glaucoma as well as to identify the role of EVs in glaucoma *** RGC-5 cells were also stimulated with glutamate,and their viability was evaluated using flow cytometry or CCK-8 *** were extracted,labeled with PKH-26,and added into the medium for normal RGC-5 culture,and the status of the cells was observed *** WT OPTN overexpression,E50K OPTN,and glutamate stimulation induced apoptosis of RGC-5 ***,when glutamate stimulation was used as an add-on treatment,the degree of apoptosis in WT OPTN-overexpressing RGC-5 cells was significantly lower than that in E50K OPTN-expressing and normal RGC-5 *** viability of normal RGC-5 cells was reduced when co-cultured with WT OPTN-overexpressing RGC-5 or E50K OPTN-overexpressing *** released by the latter two transfected lines similarly reduced normal RGC-5 *** Our results indicate that WT OPTN overexpression may lead to photoreceptor ***,overexpression also confers a degree of protection against high concentrations of extracellular ***,EVs released by transfected RGC-5 cells may regulate the cell *** findings may improve our understanding of the mechanisms of cell-cell interactions in pathological conditions,providing a basis for the use of EVs as novel targets for early diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma.

Magnetic Co nanodots embedded in the porous anodic alumina films(AAFs)on silicon substrate can be used as the magnetic recording material with high area recording *** this purpose,pure aluminum films were deposited on Si substrate with the Electron Cyclotron Resonance(ECR)plasma sputtering technique,and AAFs with vertical nano holes were synthesized with the two-step anodization process in oxalic *** magnetic material Co was deposited into the nano holes with electrochemical *** results showed that polycrystalline ECR-Al films are homogenous and fit for the synthesis of AAFs with uniform distributed nano holes when ion sheath formed in front of the substrate *** diameters of AAF nano holes were in the range from 30 to 70 nm,and the hole pitches were approximately 100 nm,the AAF on silicon substrate was about 100 nm thick after two-step *** Co nanodots filled into the nano holes of AAF exhibited both fcc and hcp structures.

Filament geometrical model and nozzle trajectory analysis in the fused deposition modeling process

The geometrical model of the filament during the fused deposition modeling (FDM) process was firstly proposed based on three different models, tractrix, parabola, and catenary. Comparing with the actual measured filament curves on the Stratasys 1600 FDM machine, it is indicated that the tractrix model had the best agreement with the actual measured curves. With the analytical simulation, the nozzle trajectories in the straight-line deposition road, circle road, and arbitrary continuous curve road were deduced, according to the traxtric based geometrical model of the filament.

The rapid development of the online food-delivery industry,has led to not only increases in the number of the crowd-sourced shared food-delivery service drivers on our roads,but also growing urban traffic safety management *** study investigates the decision-making behaviors that exist between delivery drivers,their food-delivery platform and their potential impact on traffic *** the evolutionary game theory,stakeholder decision-making behaviors involving traffic safety within the food-delivery industry were *** our analysis,several behavioral influencers were identified,including penalties for traffic violations,the opportunity cost of delivery drivers complying with traffic rules,the costs associated with risk and strict management approaches,reputation incentives,costs related to the delivery platform being punished,the probability of compliance with traffic rules,and the probability of adopting a strict management approach by the delivery *** study demonstrates that stabilization strategies used by the food service industry differ when the types of government control measures also *** the government takes a more aggressive approach to regulation and control,compliance with the traffic rules and the adoption of strict enforcement measures by management are the only evolutionary stability strategies available to food-delivery *** part of a strict management strategy,appropriate compensation or incentive measures should be provided by the distribution ***,the fines given for traffic violations should be increased to create a safer road environment that has fewer traffic accidents involving food-delivery drivers.

The characteristics of diagenetic minerals and their effects on reservoir quality of the tight sandstones of the Permian in Sulige gas field of the Ordos Basin were studied through observations on thin sections,scanning electron microscopy,energy dispersive spectroscopy analysis and electron microprobe *** minerals in the Permian sandstones consist of illite,kaolinite,chlorite,siliceous and calcite *** amounts of intercrystalline pores between kaolinite and illite provide channels for acidic fluids flow and thereby were conducive to the formation of clastic solution pores,intergranular solution pores and composite *** chlorite occurs in the form of three morphotypes as grain-coating,pore-lining and ***-coating and pore-lining chlorite with different crystal shapes occur as coatings on the framework ***-filling chlorite precipitated as discrete flaky plates in pore *** microcrystals developed but quartz overgrowth did not develop because of the occurrence of porelining ***,in turn,led to the preservation of primary pores by occupying potential nucleation sites for quartz overgrowth and thereby preventing quartz microcrystals from merging into quartz *** process is regarded as the most important for influencing the quality of the lithophysical *** cement was mainly precipitated during a late diagenetic stage and has a negative effect on the reservoir *** study provides important insights into analyzing the relationship between diagenetic minerals and reservoir quality and the results are directly applicable to the exploration and development of tight sandstone reservoirs all over the world.

The removal of organic sulfur through catalytic hydrolysis is a significant area of research in the field of *** review provides an overview of recent advancements in catalytic hydrolysis technology of organic sulfur,including the activity,stability,and atmosphere effects of hydrolysis *** emphasis is on strategies for enhancing hydrolysis activity and anti-oxygen poisoning property of *** modification,metal doping and nitrogen doping have been found to improve the activity of *** components modification is the most commonly used method,the formation of oxygen vacancies through metal doping and creation of nitrogen basic sites through nitrogen doping also contribute to the hydrolysis of organic *** strategies for anti-oxygen poisoning are discussed in a systematic *** structural regulation of catalysts is beneficial for the desorption and diffusion of hydrogen sulfide(H_(2)S),thereby effectively inhibiting its *** doping and the addition of electronic promoters such as transition metals can protect active sites and decrease the number of active oxygen *** methods have been proven to enhance the anti-poisoning performance of ***,this article summarizes how different atmospheres affect the activity of hydrolysis *** objective of this review is to pave the way for the development of efficient,stable and widely used catalysts for organic sulfur hydrolysis.

Insight into the effect of gel drying temperature on the structure and desulfurization performance of ZnO/SiO_(2)adsorbents

A series of ZnO/SiO_(2) adsorbents were prepared by a sol-gel method using tetraethyl orthosilicate,ethylene glycol(EG)and nitrates as *** effect of gel drying temperature on the structure and desulfurization performance of the adsorbents were investigated in *** is found that the low drying temperature led to a weak interaction among EG,Si AOH/H_(2)O and the nitrates in the gel system,which caused the oxidation of EG by NO3-and formed zinc glyoxylate complex during the gel calcination process,whereas this oxidation process also occurred at a high drying temperature during the gel drying *** formed zinc glyoxylate complex promoted the generation of monodentate carbonate on the surface of Zn O,which resulted in the inferior desulfurization performance of adsorbents despite they have smaller Zn O *** gel dried at 120°C formed the hydrogen bonds between EG and Si AOH/H_(2)O and a strong interaction between zinc oxo-clusters and NO3-was also found in the gel system,which avoided the oxidation of EG by NO3-during the preparation process and the Zn O nanoparticles with sizes of 6 nm were formed by a combustion *** adsorbent affords a highest sulfur capacity of 104.9 mg·g^(-1) in this *** addition,the gel drying temperature has a significant influence on the textural properties of the adsorbents except their surface area.

Although localized prostate cancer(PCa)can be cured by prostatectomy and radiotherapy,the development of effective therapeutic approaches for advanced prostate cancer,including castration-resistant PCa(CRPC)and neuroendocrine PCa(NEPC),is lagging far *** a novel prognostic and diagnostic biomarker for early diagnosis and intervention is an urgent clinical ***,we report that apolipoprotein A-I(ApoA-I),the major component of high-density lipoprotein(HDL),is upregulated in PCa based on both bioinformatics and experimental *** fact that advanced PCa shows strong ApoA-I expression reflects its potential role in driving therapeutic resistance and disease progression by reprogramming the lipid metabolic network of tumor ***,ApoA-I is regulated by MYC,a frequently amplified oncogene in late-stage ***,our findings have revealed a novel indicator to predict prognosis and recurrence,which would benefit patients who are prone to progress to metastasis or even NEPC,which is the lethal subtype of PCa.
