Rationally construction of atomic-precise interfacial charge transfer channel and strong build-in electric field in nanocluster-based Zscheme heterojunctions with enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen production

The lack of effective charge transfer driving force and channel limits the electron directional migration in nanoclusters(NC)-based heterostructures,resulting in poor photocatalytic performance.Herein,a Z-scheme NC-based heterojunction(Pt1Ag28-BTT/CoP,BTT=1,3,5-benzenetrithiol)with strong internal electric field is constructed via interfacial Co-S bond,which exhibits an absolutely superiority in photocatalytic performance with 24.89 mmol·h^(−1)·g−1 H_(2)production rate,25.77%apparent quantum yield at 420 nm,and~100%activity retention in stability,compared with Pt1Ag28-BDT/CoP(BDT=1,3-benzenedithiol),Ag29-BDT/CoP,and CoP.The enhanced catalytic performance is contributed by the dual modulation strategy of inner core and outer shell of NC,wherein,the center Pt single atom doping regulates the band structure of NC to match well with CoP,builds internal electric field,and then drives photogenerated electrons steering;the accurate surface S modification promotes the formation of Co-S atomic-precise interface channel for further high-efficient Z-scheme charge directional migration.This work opens a new avenue for designing NC-based heterojunction with matchable band structure and valid interfacial charge transfer.

p38 MAPK inhibitor SB202190 suppresses ferroptosis in the glutamate-induced retinal excitotoxicity glaucoma model

Glutamate excitotoxicity has been shown to play an important role in glaucoma, and glutamate can induce ferroptosis. The p38 mitogenactivated protein kinase(MAPK) pathway inhibitor SB202190 has a potential ability to suppress ferroptosis, and its downstream targets, such as p53, have been shown to be associated with ferroptosis. However, whether ferroptosis also occurs in retinal ganglion cells in response to glutamate excitotoxicity and whether inhibition of ferroptosis reduces the loss of retinal ganglion cells induced by glutamate excitotoxicity remain unclear. This study investigated ferroptosis in a glutamate-induced glaucoma rat model and explored the effects and molecular mechanisms of SB202190 on retinal ganglion cells. A glutamate-induced excitotoxicity model in R28 cells and an N-methyl-D-aspartate-induced glaucoma model in rats were used. In vitro experiments showed that glutamate induced the accumulation of iron and lipid peroxide and morphological changes of mitochondria in R28 cells, and SB202190 inhibited these changes. Glutamate induced the levels of p-p38 MAPK/p38 MAPK and SAT1 and decreased the expression levels of ferritin light chain, SLC7A11, and GPX4. SB202190 inhibited the expression of iron death-related proteins induced by glutamate. In vivo experiments showed that SB202190 attenuated N-methyl-D-aspartate-induced damage to rat retinal ganglion cells and improved visual function. These results suggest that SB202190 can inhibit ferroptosis and protect retinal ganglion cells by regulating ferritin light chain, SAT1, and SLC7A11/Gpx4 pathways and may represent a potential retina protectant.

Determination of the critical rainfall of runoff-initiated debris flows by the perspective of physical mechanics and Shields stress

The critical rainfall of runoff-initiated debris flows is utmost importance for local early hazard forecasting.This paper presents research on the critical rainfall of runoff-initiated debris flows through comparisons between slope gradients and three key factors,including topographic contributing area,dimensionless discharge,and Shields stress.The rainfall amount was estimated by utilizing in-situ rainfall records and a slope-dependent Shields stress model was created.The created model can predict critical Shields stress more accurately than the other two models.Furthermore,a new dimensionless discharge equation was proposed based on the corresponding discharge-gradient datasets.The new equation,along with factors such as contributing area above bed failure sites,channel width,and mean diameter of debris flow deposits,predicts a smaller rainfall amount than the in-situ measured records.Although the slope-dependent Shields stress model performs well and the estimated rainfall amount is lower than the in-situ records,the sediment initiation in the experiments falls within sheet flow regime due to a large Shields stress.Therefore,further sediment initiation experiments at a steeper slope range are expected in the future to ensure that the sediment transport belongs to mass failure regime characterized by a low level of Shields stress.Finally,a more accurate hazard forecast on the runoff-initiated debris flow holds promise when the corresponding critical slope-dependent dimensionless discharge of no motion,fluvial sediment transport,mass flow regime,and sheet flow regime are considered.

Significant effect of ordered micro-domain on cell boundary phase distribution and demagnetization curve squareness of Sm2Co17-type magnet

Cu-rich cell boundary phase is difficult to precipitate evenly,resulting in a generally poor demagnetization curve squareness for Fe-rich Sm2Co17-type magnet,which is a key factor limiting the further improvement of magnetic energy product.In this study,we report that nanoscale strip-like ordered micro-domains distributed in1:7H disordered matrix phase of the solid solution precursor is a new factor significantly affecting the precipitation and distribution of the cell boundary phase.Long strip-like and continuous micro-twin structure with twin boundaries neatly perpendicular to the C-axis is observed after sintering treatment.After solution treatment,sequential and long strip-like micro-twins gradually transform into disordered state along the basal plane,forming narrow disordered 1:7H（TbCu7-type structure） phase between the separated strip-like ordered micro-domains.This disordering transformation takes place via broken down of the long strip-like ordered micro-domains,which is accomplished by narrowing along the width direction followed by reduction of the length.Furthermore,a new model revealing the effect of the ordered micro-domains on the formation of the cell boundary phase is proposed.Antiphase boundaries enriched in Cu have already existed in the precursor with long strip-like ordered micro-domains.Therefore,the Cu-rich cell boundary phase acting as strong pinning centers cannot be precipitated homogeneously and distributed continuously after aging,resulting in a poor demagnetization curve squareness of Sm2Co17-type magnet.Our results indicate that significant broken down of the nanoscale ordered micro-domains in solution precursor is the key factor improving the distribution of cell boundary phase in Sm2Co17-type magnets.

Screening of transition metal oxides for electrocatalytic nitrate reduction to ammonia at large currents

Electrochemical nitrate reduction reaction(NO_(3)RR)towards ammonia,as an emerging and appealing technology alternative to the energy-intensive Haber-Bosch process and inefficient nitrogen reduction reaction,has recently aroused wide concern and research.However,the current research of the NO_(3)RR towards ammonia lacks the overall performance comparison of various electrocatalysts.Given this,we here make a comparison of 12 common transition metal oxide catalysts for the NO_(3)RR under a high cathodic current density of 0.25 A·cm^(-2),wherein Co_(3)O_(4) catalyst displays the highest ammonia Faradaic efficiency(85.15%)and moderate activity(ca.-0.25 V vs.reversible hydrogen electrode).Other external factors,such as nitrate concentrations in the electrolyte and applied potential ranges,have also been specifically investigated for the NO_(3)RR.

Multifunctional AlPO_(4)reconstructed LiMn_(2)O_(4)surface for electrochemical lithium extraction from brine

LiMn_(2)O_(4)(LMO)electrochemical lithium-ion pump has gained widespread attention due to its green,high efficiency,and low energy consumption in selectively extracting lithium from brine.However,collapse of crystal structure and loss of lithium extraction capacity caused by Mn dissolution loss limits its industrialized application.Hence,a multifunctional coating was developed by depositing amorphous AlPO_(4)on the surface of LMO using sol-gel method.The characterization and electrochemical performance test provided insights into the mechanism of Li^(+)embedment and de-embedment and revealed that multifunctional AlPO_(4)can reconstruct the physical and chemical state of LMO surface to improve the interface hydrophilicity,promote the transport of Li^(+),strengthen cycle stability.Remarkably,after 20 cycles,the capacity retention rate of 0.5AP-LMO reached 93.6%with only 0.147%Mn dissolution loss.The average Li^(+)release capacity of 0.5AP-LMO//Ag system in simulated brine is 28.77 mg/(g h),which is 90.4%higher than LMO.Encouragingly,even in the more complex Zabuye real brine,0.5AP-LMO//Ag can still maintain excellent lithium extraction performance.These results indicate that the 0.5AP-LMO//Ag lithium-ion pump shows promising potential as a Li^(+)selective extraction system.

In this article, we study deformations of conjugate self-dual Galois representations. The study is twofold. First, we prove an R=T type theorem for a conjugate self-dual Galois representation with coefficients in a finite field, satisfying a certain property called rigid. Second, we study the rigidity property for the family of residue Galois representations attached to a symmetric power of an elliptic curve, as well as to a regular algebraic conjugate self-dual cuspidal representation.

Autonomous aeroamphibious invisibility cloak with stochastic-evolution learning

Being invisible ad libitum has long captivated the popular imagination,particularly in terms of safeguarding modern high-end instruments from potential threats.Decades ago,the advent of metamaterials and transformation optics sparked considerable interest in invisibility cloaks,which have been mainly demonstrated in ground and waveguide modalities.However,an omnidirectional flying cloak has not been achieved,primarily due to the challenges associated with dynamic synthesis of metasurface dispersion.We demonstrate an autonomous aeroamphibious invisibility cloak that incorporates a suite of perception,decision,and execution modules,capable of maintaining invisibility amidst kaleidoscopic backgrounds and neutralizing external stimuli.The physical breakthrough lies in the spatiotemporal modulation imparted on tunable metasurfaces to sculpt the scattering field in both space and frequency domains.To intelligently control the spatiotemporal metasurfaces,we introduce a stochastic-evolution learning that automatically aligns with the optimal solution through maximum probabilistic inference.In a fully self-driving experiment,we implement this concept on an unmanned drone and showcase adaptive invisibility in three canonical landscapes-sea,land,and air-with a similarity rate of up to 95%.Our work extends the family of invisibility cloaks to flying modality and inspires other research on material discoveries and homeostatic meta-devices.

Elucidation of potential relationship between endogenous proteases and key flavor substances in dry-cured pork coppa

Dry-cured meat products are considerably popular around the world due to unique flavor.Proteolysis is one of the enzymatic reactions from which flavor substances are derived,which is affected by endogenous proteases.The purpose aimed to reveal the potential relationship between endogenous proteases and key flavor substances in dry-cured pork coppa in this paper.The dynamic changes of endogenous proteases activity,free amino acids,and volatiles during dry-cured pork coppa processing were characterized.The results showed that 5 kinds of free amino acids,Glu,Lys,Val,Ala,and Leu,were identified as significant contributors to taste.Meanwhile,key volatiles,such as hexanal,nonanal,octanal,benzaldehyde,3-methyl butanoic acid,2-methyl propanoic acid,and ethyl octanoate,greatly contributed to the flavor characteristics of dry-cured pork coppa.Further partial correlation analysis was performed to better elucidate the relationship among parameters.The results revealed that close relationship between endogenous proteases and key substances.RAP not only significantly affected the accumulation of key active-amino acids,but also affected the accumulation of ethyl octanoate,2,3-pentanedione,and 2,3-octanedione by regulating the accumulation of octanoic acid and Leu.In addition,cathepsin B and D,DPP II,DPP IV and RAP notably affected accumulation of hexanal.

Solid-state flexible supercapacitors(SCs)have many advantages of high specific capacitance,excellent flexibility,fast charging and discharging,high power density,environmental friendliness,high safety,light weight,ductility,and long cycle stability.They are the ideal choice for the development of flexible energy storage technology in the future,and provide a good prospect for energy storage applications.At present,solid-state flexible SCs are widely used for portable electronic equipment and wearable energy storage equipment,the research of them has become the focus of a growing number of researchers.Electrode material is the key part of SCs and always determines the electrochemical performance of SCs.It has been a hotspot and focus of research.Vanadium-based compounds are considered to be a promising electrode material for SCs because of variable valence,open structure,high theoretical capacity,and low price.Therefore,this study first gives an overview of solid-state flexible SCs,then reviews the current research status of vanadium-based electrode materials in solid-state flexible SCs,and proposes some strategies to solve some problems of vanadium-based electrode materials.
