Spatial-temporal shifting patterns and in situ conservation of spotted seal(Phoca largha)populations in the Yellow Sea ecoregion

Understanding the habitat shifting pattern is a prerequisite for implementing in situ conservation of migratory species.Spotted seals(Phoca largha)inhabiting the Yellow Sea ecoregion(YSE)comprise a small population with independent genes and represent a charismatic flagship species in this region.However,this population has declined by 80%since the 1940s,and increased support from the countries around the YSE is urgently needed to address the potential local extinction risk.A time-series niche model and life-history weighted systematic conservation planning were designed on the basis of a satellite beacon tracking survey(2010–2020)of the YSE population.The results showed clustering and spreading shifting patterns during the breeding and migratory seasons,respectively.The closed-loop migration route formed in the YSE indicated that this population might be geographically isolated from populations in other breeding areas around the world.The conservation priority area(CPA),with an area of 19632 km^(2)(3.58%of the total YSE area),was the most effective response to the potential in situ risk.However,nearly 80%of the CPA was exposed outside the existing marine protected areas(MPAs).Future establishment of MPAs in China should strategically consider the conservation gap identified herein,and it is recommended for Korea’s closed fishing season to be spatially set in the western Korean Peninsula from May to August.This study also exemplified that the lack of temporal information would lead to the dislocation of niche modeling for migratory species represented by spotted seals.Attention should be paid to protecting small and migratory populations in marine biodiversity conservation planning.

Erosion of tungsten surfaces in He and Ar/He plasma

Irradiation tests of tungsten surface were performed with He and He/Ar plasma generated by microwave electron cyclotron resonance. Thickness loss was used as the erosion rate of tungsten surface under the plasma irradiation. The results revealed that the thickness loss increased linearly with negative bias. SEM images proved that the addition of Ar apparently increased the plasma erosion. The thickness loss increased sharply with the Ar fraction of Ar/He mixture when it was \20 %,where the increasing slope of thickness loss lowered down gradually.

Current Use of Oral Anticoagulants and Prognostic Analysis in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation Undergoing Coronary Stenting

Background： It is currently believed that triple oral antithrombotic therapy in patients with atrial fibrillation （AF） after percutaneous coronary intervention （PCI） should be recommended if there are no contraindications. However, selecting triple therapy for AF patients undergoing PCI is still challenging when bleeding risk is considered. This study aimed to investigate the current use of oral anticoagulants （Vitamin K antagonists [VKA]） and perform prognostic analysis in real-world patients with AF undergoing coronary stenting. Methods： A total of 276 consecutive coronary artery disease （CAD） patients with or without AF undergoing coronary stenting were retrospectively evaluated and analyzed. The univariate and multivariate analyses were conducted to explore the current use of VKA and prognosis of patients with AF undergoing coronary stenting. The primary end-point was composite of all-cause death, nonfatal recurrent myocardial infarction, stroke, serious bleeding events, unplanned repeat revascularization, and worsening heart failure at 12-month follow-up after coronary stenting. Results： AF patients undergoing coronary stenting have more clinical concomitant diseases. Only 9.0% AF patients after coronary stenting received triple antithrombotic therapy （VKA, aspirin, and clopidogrel） at discharge. AF was independently associated with increased risk of the 12-month composite end-points （relative risk = 5.732, 95% confidence interval 1.786-18.396, P = 0.003）. Conclusions： In real-life AF patients undergoing coronary stenting, guideline-recommended VKA was less used. AF patients had adjusted worse prognosis during 12-month follow-up after discharge. It is of utmost importance to improve the current status of oral anticoagulants use.

Rate of strong consistency of the maximum quasi-likelihood estimator in quasi-likelihood nonlinear models

Quasi-likelihood nonlinear models （QLNM） include generalized linear models as a special case. Under some regularity conditions, the rate of the strong consistency of the maximum quasi-likelihood estimation （MQLE） is obtained in QLNM. In an important case, this rate is O（n-^1/2（loglogn）^1/2）, which is just the rate of LIL of partial sums for i.i.d variables, and thus cannot be improved anymore.

Robust Nonparametric Function Estimation for Errors-in-variables Models

This paper discusses robust nonparametric estimators of location regression function for errorsin-variables model with de-convolution kernel.The local constant smoother is used for the estimation of the nonparametric function,and the local linear smoother is proposed to deal with the boundary problem,as well as to improve the local constant smoother.We establish the asymptotic properties of the estimator,the influence function of the statistical functional and the breakdown point.A simulation study is carried out to demonstrate robust performance of the proposed estimator.The motorcycle data is presented to illustrate the application of the robust estimator further.

LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O_(2)(NCM811),a Ni-rich layered oxide,is a promising cathode material for high-energy density lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).However,its structural instability,caused by adverse phase transitions and continuous oxygen release,as well as deteriorated interfacial stability due to excessive electrolyte oxidative decomposition,limits its widespread application.To address these issues,a new concept is proposed that surface targeted precise functionalization(STPF)of the NCM811 cathode using a synergistic slurry additive(SSA)approach.This approach involves coating the NCM811 particle surface with 3-aminopropyl dimethoxy methyl silane(3-ADMS),followed by the precise deposition of ascorbic acid via an acid-base interaction.The slurry additives induce the formation of an ultra-thin spinel surface layer and a stable cathode–electrolyte interface(CEI),which enhances the electrochemical kinetics and inhibits crack propagation.The STPF strategy implemented by the SSA approach significantly improves the cyclic stability and rate performance of the NCM811 cathode in both half-cell and full-cell configurations.This work establishes a promising strategy to enhance the structural stability and electrochemical performance of nickel-rich cathodes and provides a feasible route to promote practical applications of high-energy density lithium-ion battery technology.

Skyrmion-based devices are promising candi-dates for non-volatile memory and low-delay time com-putation.Many skyrmion-based devices execute operation by controlling skyrmion trajectory,which can be impeded by the skyrmion Hall effect.Here,the design of skyrmion-based arithmetic devices built on synthetic antiferromag-netic(SyAF)structures is presented,where the structure can greatly suppress skyrmion Hall effect.In this study,the operations of skyrmion-based half adder,full adder,and XOR logic gate are executed by introducing geometric notches and tilted edges,which can annihilate or diverge skyrmion.Performance of these skyrmion-based devices is evaluated,where the delay time and energy-delay product of the single-bit full adder are 1.95 ns and 2.50×10^(-22)Js,which are only 12%and 79%those of the previously proposed skyrmion-based single-bit full adder.This improvement is significant in the construction of ripple-carry adder and ripple-carry adder-subtractor.Therefore,our skyrmion-based SyAF arithmetic device is a promising candidate to develop high-speed spintronic devices.

Mechanism and control of nonuniform phase transformation of microalloyed dual-phase steel during cooling process after hot rolling

After cooling in the hot rolling process,the metallographic structure of microalloyed dual-phase steel is nonuniform along the rolling direction,while the thickness fluctuation of microalloyed dual-phase steel with a nonuniform metallographic structure will occur during cold rolling.The mechanism of nonuniform phase transformation of microalloyed dual-phase steels was studied during the cooling process after hot rolling,and the nonuniform phase transformation of microalloyed dual-phase steel was regulated during the cooling process after hot rolling through process optimization.First,the empirical equation of phase transformation temperature was measured by a dilatometer considering thermal expansion.Then,the phase field and temperature field of laminar cooling process were calculated to provide initial boundary conditions for the finite element model.After that,the coupling finite element model of the temperature phase transformation of the strip steel in coiling transportation process was established.The simulation results show that the different thermal contact conditions of the microalloyed dual-phase steel during coil transportation lead to uneven cooling of the coil,which leads to nonuniform transformation of the coil along the rolling direction.In addition,by prolonging the time interval from coiling to unloading,the phenomenon of nonuniform phase transformation of microalloyed dual-phase steel can be effectively controlled.The simulation results are applied to industrial production.The application results show that prolonging the time interval from coiling to unloading can effectively improve the nonuniform phase transformation of microalloyed dual-phase steel in the cooling process after hot rolling.

Background:X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis(xiaP)is a vital factor in the anti-apoptosis mechanism of tumors and is highly expressed in renal cell carcinoma(RCC).However,the mechanism through which xiaP regulates DNA damage repair is unknown.This study investigated the regulatory mechanism of xiaP in etoposide-induced apoptosis in two Caki-1 cell lines with high or low xiaP expression.Methods:The two cell lines were established using RNA interference technology.The differentially expressed proteins in the two cell lines were globally analyzed through an isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation-based quantitative proteomics approach.Proteomic analysis revealed 255,375,362,and 5 differentially expressed proteins after 0,0.5,3,and 12 h of drug stimulation,respectively,between the two cell lines.The identified differentially expressed proteins were involved in numerous biological processes.In addition,the expression of histone proteins(H1.4,H2AX,H3.1,H3.2,and H3.3)was drastically altered,and the effects of xiaP silencing were accompanied by the marked downregulation of H2AX.Protein-protein interactions were assessed and confirmed through immunofluorescence and Western blot analyses.Results:The results suggested that xiaP may act as a vital cell signal regulator that regulates the expression of DNA repair-related proteins,such as H2AX,and influences the DNA repair process.Conclusions:Given these functions,xiaP may be the decisive factor in determining the sensitivity of RCC cell apoptosis induction in response to chemotherapeutic agents.
