Background Saline nasal irrigation is an effective therapy for relieving common cold *** study aimed to investigate and explore the efficacy of physiological seawater nasal irrigation(PSNI)on children with mild and asymptomatic infection with *** This randomized controlled trial was conducted in Shanghai,china,and 403 children with mild and asymptomatic infection with Omicron were *** children were allocated into the PSNI group and the control *** primary outcome was the duration of viral shedding(DVS),and the secondary outcome was the change in clinical *** The median age of all participants was 5.59(6.26)years *** DVS was significantly shorter in the PSNI group[2.40(1.13)]than in the control group[3.09(2.14)](P=0.014).The multivariable Cox regression model also showed that patients in the PSNI group had an increased probability of shorter DVS compared with patients in the control group[hazard ratio(HR),1.27;95%confidence interval(CI),1.04–1.55;P=0.017].Subgroup analysis suggested that the DVS of patients without full vaccination was significantly reduced in the PSNI *** proportions of runny nose and stuffy nose were apparently reduced in the first three days in the PSNI group or the control group,but there was no evidence showing that PSNI contributes to the benefit compared with the control *** PSNI can reduce the DVS of patients with mild and asymptomatic infection with SARS-CoV-2 Omicron BA.2 variant.

Src inhibition rescues FUNDC1-mediated neuronal mitophagy in ischaemic stroke

Natural killer T cell lymphoma(NKTCL)is highly aggressive,with advanced stage patients poorly responding to intensive *** explore effective and safe treatment for newly diagnosed advanced stage NKTCL,we conducted a phase ll study of anti-metabolic agent pegaspargase plus PD-1 antibody sintilimab(NCT04096690).Twenty-two patients with a median age of 51 years(range,24-74)were enrolled and treated with induction treatment of pegaspargase 2500 IU/m2 intramuscularly on day 1 and sintilimab 200 mg intravenously on day 2 for 6 cycles of 21 days,followed by maintenance treatment of sintilimab 200 mg for 28 cycles of 21 *** complete response and overall response rate after induction treatment were 59%(95%Cl,43-79%)and 68%(95%Cl,47-84%),*** a median follow-up of 30 months,the 2 year progression-free and overall survival rates were 68%(95%Cl,45-83%)and 86%(95%Cl,63-95%),*** most frequently grade 3/4 adverse events were neutropenia(32%,n=7)and hypofibrinogenemia(18%,n=4),which were manageable and led to no discontinuation of *** proportion score of PD-L1,peripheral blood high-density lipoprotein cholesterol,and apolipoprotein A-l correlated with good response,while PD-1 on tumor infiltrating lymphocytes and peripheral Treg cells with poor response to pegaspargase plus sintilimab *** conclusion,the chemo-free regimen pegaspargase plus sintilimab was effective and safe in newly diagnosed,advanced stage *** lipid profle and immunosuppressive signature contributed to treatment resistance,providing an alternative therapeutic approach dual targeting fatty acid metabolism and CTLA-4 in NKTCL.

Microplastics(MPs)have become a significant concern for their potential ***,the correlation between the size of plastic particles and their toxicity remains ***,we investigate the toxic effects of different sizes(80 nm,800 nm,8μm and 80μm)polystyrene MPs(PS-MPs)on the model organism Nile tilapia(Oreochromis niloticus).The results of bioluminescent imaging indicate that the 80 nm PS-MPs are more likely to invade the body.H&E staining shows severe damage on the intestinal villi and distinct hepatic steatosis in the 80 nm *** U labeling shows that the proliferation activity of intestinal and liver cells reduces significantly in the 80 nm *** gut microbiome analysis shows a severe imbalance of gut microbiota homeostasis in the 80 nm *** analysis of liver transcriptomics and metabolomics shows that the liver lipid metabolism is disordered in the 80 nm *** conclusion,this study confirms that the 80 nm PS-MPs are more likely to induce intestinal and liver *** the above lay the foundation for further study on the pathological damage of MPs to other organisms.

Early changes in corneal densitometry after FS-LASIK combined with accelerated corneal cross-linking for correction of high myopia

AIM:To observe the effects of femtosecond laserassisted excimer laser in situ keratomileusis combined with accelerated corneal cross-linking(FS-LASIK Xtra)on corneal densitometry after correcting for high ***:In this prospectively study,130 patients underwent FS-LASIK or FS-LASIK Xtra for high *** right eyes were selected for inclusion in the study,of which 65 cases of 65 eyes in the FS-LASIK group,65 patients with 65 eyes in the FS-LASIK Xtra *** were evaluated for corneal densitometry at 1,3,and 6mo postoperatively using Pentacam Scheimpflug ***:Preoperative differences in corneal densitometry between the FS-LASIK and FS-LASIK Xtra groups in different ranges were not statistically significant(P>0.05).Layer-by-layer analysis revealed statistically significant differences in the anterior(120μm),central,and total layer corneal densitometry between the FS-LASIK and FS-LASIK Xtra groups at 1 and 3mo postoperatively(all P1mo postoperatively in the ranges of 0–2,2–6,and 6–10 mm(both P2 and 2–6 mm(P0.05).CONCLUSION:There is an increase in internal corneal densitometry during the early postoperative period after FS-LASIK Xtra for correction of high ***,the densitometry values decreased to the level of conventional FS-LASIK at 6mo after surgery,with the most significant changes observed in the superficial central zone.
