Robust Information Hiding Based on Neural Style Transfer with Artificial Intelligence

This paper proposes an artificial intelligence-based robust information hiding algorithm to address the issue of confidential information being susceptible to noise attacks during transmission.The algorithm we designed aims to mitigate the impact of various noise attacks on the integrity of secret information during transmission.The method we propose involves encoding secret images into stylized encrypted images and applies adversarial transfer to both the style and content features of the original and embedded data.This process effectively enhances the concealment and imperceptibility of confidential information,thereby improving the security of such information during transmission and reducing security risks.Furthermore,we have designed a specialized attack layer to simulate real-world attacks and common noise scenarios encountered in practical environments.Through adversarial training,the algorithm is strengthened to enhance its resilience against attacks and overall robustness,ensuring better protection against potential threats.Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed algorithm successfully enhances the concealment and unknowability of secret information while maintaining embedding capacity.Additionally,it ensures the quality and fidelity of the stego image.The method we propose not only improves the security and robustness of information hiding technology but also holds practical application value in protecting sensitive data and ensuring the invisibility of confidential information.

Influence of extrusion conditions on microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-2Gd-0.3Zr magnesium alloy

In general,different extrusion conditions will affect the microstructure of magnesium alloys and further determine the mechanical properties.The effects of extrusion parameters and heat treatment processes such as extrusion speed,pre-forging,annealing time,extrusion ratio and cooling rate on the microstructure,texture evolution and tensile properties of Mg-2Gd-0.3Zr alloys were investigated in this study.Compared with the as-cast alloy,the extrusion process significantly refines the grains and exhibit the rare earth texture.With the increase of extrusion speed and annealing time,the growth of recrystallized grains is accelerated,leading to the increase of elongation.Large pre-forging deformation achieves to refine the grains by promoting recrystallization nucleation,resulting in increased strength of Mg-2Gd-0.3Zr alloy.Decreasing the extrusion ratio or increasing the cooling rate will introduce coarse un-DRXed grains,which transformed the texture into the basal texture.In particular,the effect of rapid cooling on refining the recrystallized grains is also obvious.Different extrusion conditions influence the mechanical properties of the Mg-2Gd-0.3Zr alloy through the grain size,proportion of non-recrystallization region and texture type.

Marine antifouling behavior of the surfaces modified by dopamine and antibacterial peptide

Marine biofouling causes serious harms to surfaces of marine devices in transportation,aquaculture,and offshore construction.Traditional antifouling methods pollute the environment.A novel and green antifouling strategy was developed to prevent effectively the adhe sion of bacteria and microalgae.An antifouling surface was fabricated via coating Turgencin BMox2(TB)onto dopamine-modified 304stainless steel(304 SS).The surface physical and chemical properties before and after modification were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectrometer(FTIR),X-ray photoelectron spectrometer(XPS),contact angle measurement(CA),3D optical profilometer,ellipsometer,and atomic force microscope(AFM).Antimicrobial peptide was coated onto the surface of 304 SS successfully,and the surface morphology and wettability of the modified sample were modified.Moreover,cytocompatibility of the peptide was evaluated by co-culture of peptide and cells,indicating promising cell biocompatibility at the modified sample surface.At last,antifouling performance and electrochemical corrosion were tested.Results show that the adhesion rates of Vibrio natriegens and Phaeodactylum tricornutum on the antifouling surface were reduced by 99.85% and 67.93%,respectively from those of untreated samples.Therefore,the modified samples retained superior corrosion resistance.The study provide a simply and green way against biofouling on ship hulls and marine equipment.

Effect of calcium content on inclusions during the ladle furnace refining process of AISI 321 stainless steel

The effect of three heat processes with different calcium contents on the evolution of inclusions during the ladle furnace refining process of AISI 321 stainless steel was investigated.The size,morphology,and composition of the inclusions were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.After the addition of aluminum and titanium,the primary oxide in the AISI 321 stainless steel was an AbOs—MgO—TiOx complex oxide,in which the mass ratio of AbOs/MgO was highly consistent with spinel(MgO・AbO3).After calcium treatment,the calcium content in the oxide increased significantly.Thermodynamic calculations show that when the Ti content was 0.2wt%,the Al and Ca contents were less than 0.10wt%and 0.0005wt%,respectively,which was beneficial for the formation of liquid inclusions in molten steel.Moreover,the modification mechanism of calcium on TiN-wrapped oxides in combination with temperature changes was discussed.

Inversion of surface vegetation water content based on GNSS-IR and MODIS data fusion

Obtaining high-precision,long-term sequences of vegetation water content(VWC)is of great significance for assessing surface vegetation growth,soil moisture,and fire risk.In recent years,the global navigation satellite system-interferometric reflection(GNSS-IR)has become a new type of remote sensing technology with low cost,all-weather capability,and a high temporal resolution.It has been widely used in the fields of snow depth,sea level,soil moisture content,and vegetation water content.The normalized microwave reflectance index(NMRI)based on GNSS-IR technology has been proven to be effective in monitoring changes in VWC.This paper considers the advantages and disadvantages of remote sensing technology and GNSS-IR technology in estimating VWC.A point-surface fusion method of GNSS-IR and MODIS data based on the GA-BP neural network is proposed to improve the accuracy of VWC estimation.The vegetation index products(NDVI,GPP,LAI)and the NMRI that unified the temporal and spatial resolution were used as the input and output data of the training model,and the GA-BP neural network was used for training and modeling.Finally,a spatially continuous NMRI product was generated.Taking a particular area of the United States as a research object,experiments show that(1)a neural network can realize the effective fusion of GNSS-IR and MODIS products.By comparing the GA-BP neural network,BP neural network,and multiple linear regression(MLR),the three models fusion effect.The results show that the GA-BP neural network has the best modeling effect,and the r and RMSE between the model estimation result and the reference value are 0.778 and 0.0332,respectively;this network is followed by the BP neural network,in which the r and RMSE are 0.746 and 0.0465,respectively.MLR has the poorest effect,with r and RMSE values of 0.500 and 0.0516,respectively.(2)The spatiotem-poral variation in the 16 days/500 m resolution NMRI product obtained by GA-BP neural network fusion is consistent with that in the experimental area.Through the testing of

Response of understory plant species richness and tree regeneration to thinning in Pinus tabuliformis plantations in northern China

Background:Chinese pine(Pinus tabuliformis Carr.)is one of the major afforestation species in northern China and plays a key role in restoring forest ecosystems and preserving soil and water.However,most Chinese pine plantations are experiencing ecological problems such as the low diversity of understory plants and difficulty in natural regeneration.Thinning has been widely used to maintain and improve a variety of forest ecosystem services from plantations.To date,however,few studies have been conducted to systematically determine the effects of thinning on understory plant diversity and the regeneration of Chinese pine in plantations.Methods:We conducted a literature search,and selected 22 publications covering a total of 83 treatments related to thinning effects on the species richness of understory plants and 15 publications covering a total of 43 treatments related to thinning effects on the regeneration of Chinese pine,in tree plantations of northern China.The data from the literature were synthesized and evaluated with meta-analysis approach to determine the treatment effects.Results:Compared with the control stands,thinning increased the species richness of shrubs and herbs by an average of 25.3%and 26.5%,respectively.While the varying thinning intensities all had significantly positive effects on the species richness of understory plants,only moderate thinning(30%–50%)had a positive effect on the density of regenerating seedlings and saplings of Chinese pine(60.2%).The species richness of understory plants was greatest after 14 years of thinning with an increase of 36.3%,whereas the density of regenerating Chinese pine seedlings and saplings reached a maximum after≥11 years of thinning with an increase of 76.5%,compared to that of the unthinned stands.Thinning in the half-mature plantations had the greatest effects on the understory shrub richness(44.1%)and the density of regenerating Chinese pine seedlings and saplings(86.5%).Both single and multiple thinning were found to significantly promote the spec

Huangqin Decoction Attenuates DSS-Induced Mucosal Damage and Promotes Epithelial Repair via Inhibiting TNF-α-Induced NF-κB Activation

Objective:To investigate the protective effect of Chinese herbal formula Huangqin Decoction(HQD)on ulcerative colitis mouse model induced by dextran sulphate sodium(DSS)and human intestinal epithelial cell injury induced by tumour necrosis factor-α(TNF-α).Methods:In vivo,30 male C57BL/6 mice were divided into 5 groups using a random number table(n=6 per group),including control,DSS,5-aminosalicylic acid(5-ASA),HQD low-(HQD-L)and high-dose(HQD-H)groups.The colitis mouse model was established by 3%(w/v)DSS water for 5 days.Meanwhile,mice in the HQD-L,HQD-H and 5-ASA groups were administrated with 100,200 mg/kg HQD or 100 mg/kg 5-ASA,respectively,once daily by gavage.After 9 days of administration,the body weight,disease activity index(DAI)score and colon length of mice were measured,the pathological changes of colons were analyzed by hematoxylin-eosin staining(HE)staining,and the levels of serum interleukin(IL)-6,IL-1βand TNF-αwere measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay.In vitro,the human colon epithelial normal cells(FHC cells)were exposed to HQD(0.6 mg/mL)for 12 h and then treated with TNF-α(10 ng/mL)for 24 h.The tight junction(TJ)protein expression levels of Claudin-4 and Occludin,and the protein phosphorylation levels of p65 and inhibitor of nuclear factor kappaB(NF-κB)-α(IκBα)were measured by Western blot.Results:In vivo,compared with the DSS group,HQD-H treatment attenuated the weight loss and reduced DAI score of mice on the 8th day(P<0.05).Moreover,HQD-H treatment ameliorated the colon shortening in the DSS-induced colitis mice(P<0.05).HE staining showed HQD attenuated the pathological changes of colitis mice,and the histological scores of HQD-H and 5-ASA groups were significantly decreased compared with the DSS group(P<0.05).Meanwhile,HQD-H and 5-ASA significantly decreased the serum IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-αlevels of mice(P<0.05).In vitro experiments showed that HQD up-regulated Occludin and Claudin-4 protein expressions and inhibited p-p65 and p-IκBαlevels in FHC cells compared with the TNF-αgroup(P<0.

Network Modeling of Inammatory Dynamics Induced by Biomass Smoke Leading to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)is a chronic inammatory disorder characterized by airow obstruction and progressive damage of lung tissues.As currently more than 3 billion people use biomass fuel for cooking and heating worldwide,exposure to biomass smoke(BS)is recognized as a significant risk factor for COPD.Recent clinical data have shown that BS-COPD patients have a Th2-type inammatory profile significantly different from that in COPD induced by cigarette smoke.As COPD is essentially proinammatory,however,the mechanism underlying this Th2-type anti-inammatory profile remains elusive.In this work,a network model is applied to study BS-induced inammatory dynamics.The network model involves several positive feedback loops,activations of which are responsible for different mechanisms by which clinical phenotypes of COPD are produced.Our modeling study in this work has identified a subset of BS-COPD patients with a mixed M1-and Th2-type inammatory profile.The model's prediction is in good agreement with clinical experiments and our in silico knockout simulations have demonstrated several important network components that play an important role in the disease.Our modeling study provides novel insight into BS-COPD progression,offering a rationale for targeted therapy and personalized medicine for treatment of the disease in future.

Hierarchical Control of Drosophila Sleep, Courtship, and Feeding Behaviors by Male-Specific P1 Neurons

Animals choose among sleep, courtship, and feeding behaviors based on the integration of both external sensory cues and internal states; such choices are essential for survival and reproduction. These competing behaviors are closely related and controlled by distinct neural circuits, but whether they are also regulated by shared neural nodes is unclear. Here, we investigated how a set of male-specific P1 neurons controls sleep, courtship, and feeding behaviors in Drosophila males. We found that mild activation of P1 neurons was sufficient to affect sleep, but not courtship or feeding, while stronger activation of P1 neurons labeled by four out of five independent drivers induced courtship, but only the driver that targeted the largest number of P1 neurons affected feeding. These results reveal a common neural node that affects sleep,courtship, and feeding in a threshold-dependent manner,and provide insights into how competing behaviors can be regulated by a shared neural node.

Role of Combining Peripheral with Sublingual Perfusion on Evaluating Microcirculation and Predicting Prognosis in Patients with Septic Shock

Background： Measurement of general microcirculation remains difficult in septic shock patients. The peripheral perfusion index （PI） and sublingual microcirculation monitoring are thought to be possible methods. This study was pertbrmed to determine whether assessing microcirculation by PI and a new parameter, proportion of perfusion vessel change rate （APPV） from sublingual microcirculation monitoring, can be associated with patients＇ outcome. Methods： A prospective observational study was carried out, including 74 patients with septic shock in a mixed intensive care unit. Systemic hemodynamic variables were obtained at TO and 6 h after （T6）. PI and sublingual microcirculation indicators were obtained using a bedside monitor and a sidestream dark-field device, respectively. The t-test, analysis of variance, Mann-Whitney U-test, Kruskal- Wallis test, receiver operating characteristic curve analysis with the Hanley-McNeil test, survival curves using the Kaplan-Meier method, and the log-rank （Mantel-Cox） test were used to statistical analysis. Results： Systemic hemodynamics and microcirculation data were obtained and analyzed. Patients were divided into two groups based on whether the first 6 h lactate clearance （LC） was 〉20%; PI and APPV were lower at T6 in the LC 〈20% group compared with LC ≥20% （PI： 1.52 [0.89, 1.98] vs. 0.79 [0.44, 1,81], Z = -2.514, P - 0.012; APPV： 5.9 ±15.2 vs. 17.9 ± 20.0, t = -2.914, P = 0.005）. The cutoff values of PI and APPV were 1.41% and l 2.1%, respectively. The cutoff value of the combined indicators was 1.379 according to logistic regression. Area under the curve demonstrated 0.709 （P 〈 0.05）, and the sensitivity and specificity of using combined indicators were 0.622 and 0.757, respectively. Based on the PI and APPV cutoff; all the participants were divided into the following groups：（1） high PI and high APPV group, （2） high PI and low APPV group, （3） low PI and high zXPPV group, and （4） low PI and low APPV group.
