Plutonium utilization in a small modular molten-salt reactor based on a batch fuel reprocessing scheme

A molten salt reactor(MSR)has outstanding features considering the application of thorium fuel,inherent safety,sustainability,and resistance to ***,fissile material^(233)U is significantly rare at the current stage,thus it is difficult for MSR to achieve a pure thorium-uranium fuel ***,using plutonium or enriched uranium as the initial fuel for MSR is more *** this study,we aim to verify the feasibility of a small modular MSR that utilizes plutonium as the starting fuel(SM-MSR-Pu),and highlight its advantages and ***,the structural design and fuel management scheme of the SM-MSR-Pu were ***,the neutronic characteristics,such as the graphite-irradiation lifetime,burn-up performance,and coefficient of temperature reactivity were calculated to analyze the physical characteristics of the *** results indicate that plutonium is a feasible and advantageous starting fuel for a SM-MSR;however,there are certain shortcomings that need to be *** a 250 MWth SM-MSR-Pu,approximately 288.64 kg^(233)U of plutonium with a purity of greater than 90% is produced while 978.00 kg is burned every ten *** temperature reactivity coefficient decreases from -4.0 to -6.5 pcm K^(-1) over the 50-year operating time,which ensures a long-term safe ***,the amount of plutonium and accumulation of minor actinides(MAs)would increase as the burn-up time increases,and the annual production and purity of^(233)U will *** achieve an optimal burn-up performance,setting the entire operation time to 30 years is ***,more than 3600 kg of plutonium eventually accumulate in the *** research is required to effectively utilize this accumulated plutonium.

Mechanism, prevention, and control of mining-induced dynamic disasters in underground metal mines in China: Challenges and solutions

Metal mineral resources play an indispensable role in the development of the national economy. Dynamic disasters in underground metal mines seriously threaten mining safety, which are major scientific and technological problems to be solved urgently. In this article, the occurrence status and grand challenges of some typical dynamic disasters involving roof falling, spalling, collapse, large deformation, rockburst, surface subsidence, and water inrush in metal mines in China are systematically presented, the characteristics of mining-induced dynamic disasters are analyzed, the examples of dynamic disasters occurring in some metal mines in China are summarized, the occurrence mechanism, monitoring and early warning methods, and prevention and control techniques of these disasters are highlighted, and some new opinions, suggestions, and solutions are proposed simultaneously. Moreover, some shortcomings in current disaster research are pointed out, and the direction of efforts to improve the prevention and control level of dynamic disasters in China’s metal mines in the future is prospected. The integration of forward-looking key innovative theories and technologies in the abovementioned aspects will greatly enhance the cognitive level of disaster prevention and mitigation in China’s metal mining industry and achieve a significant shift from passive disaster relief to active disaster prevention.

Exploring the characteristics of microbial community and enzyme activity in the aged refuse landfill environment of Taiyuan, China

Municipal solid waste landfill is the main disposal option for domestic garbage, in which microbial activities play an important role. However, despite the widespread practice of landfilling, the metagenomic microbial profiles of landfill sites remain poorly characterized. In this study, we used a combination of physicochemical analysis, ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry, and high-throughput Illumina shotgun sequencing to systematically investigate the changes in soil enzyme activities, microbial community structure, and functional attributes in aged refuse collected from the Xingou Municipal Solid Waste Landfill in Taiyuan, China, with ordinary topsoil from an area within 5 km of the landfill as control soil. Except for neutral phosphatase (P=0.065), the activities of urease, laccase, dehydrogenase, sucrase, neutral protease, and β-glucosidase were all significantly reduced (P chao 1 and ACE) and diversity indices (Shannon and Simpson). In total, 186 phyla, 4 354 genera, and 34 459 species were identified, with 132 phyla, 1 914 genera, and7 369 species showing significantly different abundances between the aged refuse and the control soil. Actinobacteria and Acidobacteria were identified as the dominant phyla in the control soil, whereas Proteobacteria, Euryarchaeota (archaea), and Firmicutes were found to predominate in the aged ***, Euryarchaeota and Methanoculleus were the major taxa detected in the aged refuse, but were almost completely absent in the control soil. The conjugation of external species with twodimensional(2D)materials has broad application *** this study,we have explored the potential of noble metal/2D MOF heterostructures in hydrogen ***,the MgH_(2)-Ni-MOF@Pd system has shown remarkable hydrogen desorption/sorption performances,starting to liberate hydrogen at 1810C,which is 2300C lower than that of pristine *** the catalytic effect of Ni-MOF@Pd,the dehydrogenation apparent activation energy of MgH2 is noticeably decreased from(133.5±17.5)to(34.58±1.87)kJ·moL^(-1),and the hydrogenation apparent activation energy is reduced from(70.41±7.43)to(25.78±4.64)kJ·moL^(-1),which is lowered by 63.4%.The fully-dehydrogenated MgH2-NiMOF@Pd composite rapidly uptakes hydrogen,with 2.62wt%at 100℃and 6.06 wt%at 150℃within 300 s,*** mechanism analysis of MgH2 catalyzed by Ni-MOF@Pd has revealed that the transformation of Mg_2Ni and Mg_2NiH_4 could act as a"hydrogen pump",providing numerous channels for fast diffusion and transport of hydrogen ***,in the dehydrogenation process,the element Pd reacts with MgH_(2)to form the MgPd alloy phase,which makes MgH_(2)take precedence to decompose through the Mg-Pd alloy rather than self-decomposition,further reducing thermal stability and improving de/hydrogenation *** synergistic effect of Mg-Pd,Mg_2Ni,and the special ultra-thin 2D sheet structure of the additive is the main reason for the good hydrogen storage property of MgH_(2)-Ni-MOF@*** findings provide inspiration for designing efficient multifunctional additives with unique morphologies to optimize the hydrogen desorption/sorption behaviors of hydrogen storage materials.

为了提升控制性能,降低训练时间与稳态误差,提出了一种小脑模型关节机器人自适应近似最优鲁棒控制方法。首先找到克服诸如重力等非线性的最佳权重集,控制函数保持不变,从而消除存在偏差项时的稳态误差。然后寻找实现原点近似最优控制的附加权重集,从而在搜索优化时惩罚控制作用不会导致由于重力引起的任何稳态误差。无功权值和无功权值之和提供了一个鲁棒权值更新的监督终端,Lyapunov方法保证了信号的一致最终有界性,保证了权值漂移和突发不发生。最后通过柔性关节机器人的实验验证了提出方法的有效性。

针对代理模型引导多目标优化算法,求解决策变量数量增多的昂贵多目标优化问题时,搜索效率较低的问题,提出一种双阶段填充采样辅助的昂贵多目标优化算法。第一阶段,利用一组方向向量引导产生靠近真实最优解集的样本,加快模型引导算法搜索;第二阶段,由代理模型估计获得估值误差,融合个体与样本之间相似性、个体估值收敛性,选择个体用于真实评价后填充样本集,实现模型性能的提升。在100维和200维的多目标基准测试问题上的实验结果表明,所提算法在同等有限资源内获得了比其它算法更为显著的优势。
