A STUDY OF CARBIDE GROWTH IN MAR-M247 LC ALLOY BY DIRECTIONAL SOLIDIFICATION METHOD

＜正＞Penicillium marneffei is an emerging fungal pathogen of humans,in particular those who are *** has the capacity to alternate between a hyphal and a yeast growth form,a process known as dimorphic switching,in response to *** grows in the hyphal form at 25℃and in the yeast form at 37℃.The hyphal form produces conidia which are likely to be the infectious agent while the yeast growth form is the pathogenic form found in infected *** yeast cells exist intracellularly in the mononuclear phagocyte system of the *** molecular events which establish and maintain the developmental state and control the dimorphic switching process in dimorphic fungi are poorly understood. Small GTPases of the Ras and Rho/Cdc42/Rac families are highly conserved across all eukaryotes,with important biochemical roles in signalling and polarity that effect *** ***,the rasA gene encodes a Ras protein that regulates germination of conidia and polarised growth of both hyphal and yeast cell *** of these activities are processed via the Cdc42 type GTPase encoded by CflA while others are ***42（CflA） and Rac（CflB） coordinately control hyphal cell polarisation in addition to also having unique roles in regulating conidial germination and polarised growth of yeast cells（CflA） and polarised growth of conidiophore cell types and hyphal branching（CflB）.In addition to these canonical GTPases,*** also has a second Ras encoding gene（rasB） and a Ras-related gene（rsrA） and the coordinate activity of these factors establishes growth polarisation and *** of the activities of these GTPases impinge on two p21-activated kinases（PAKs） in *** called PakA and *** these PAKs are important for growth of the pathogenic yeast cells of *** in mammalian host *** all of these activities come together to control the morphogenesis of *** cells will be discussed.

The carbide growth behavior of MAR-M247 LC alloy was investigated by directional solidification and quench method. The carbide volume fraction, trapping and growth behavior were correlated with the growth *** was found that the carbide volume fraction decreased at slower growth *** decreasing was caused by lower solidliquid interface trapping ability at slower growth rate.

A design and verification of linear state observers which estimate state information such as angular velocity and load torque for retraction control of the motorized seat belt (MSB) system were described. The motorized seat belt system provides functions to protect passengers and improve passenger's convenience. Each MSB function has its own required belt tension which is determined by the function's purpose. To realize the MSB functions, state information, such as seat belt winding velocity and seat belt tension are required. Using a linear state observer, the state information for MSB operations can be estimated without sensors. To design the linear state observer, the motorized seat belt system is analyzed and represented as a state space model which contains load torque as an augmented state. Based on the state space model, a linear state observer was designed and verified by experiments. Also, the retraction control of the MSB algorithm using linear state observer was designed and verified on the test bench. With the designed retraction control algorithm using the linear state observer, it is possible to realize various types of MSB functions.

Cubic boron nitride (c-BN) films were successfully grown on Si(100)substrates by a helicon wave plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition *** lower limits of rf substrated bias voltage and plasma density for formation of a single phase c-BN film were 350V and 4.5×10￣(10) cm￣(3),respectively. The grown c-BN films demonstrated a poor adhesion to the substrates. A postannealing treatment at 800℃ C in N_2 atmosphere was found very effective in relieving the compressive stress in the films which were thereby stabilized to improve the adhesion.

High efficiency and flexible inverted organic solar cells have been fabricated using solution-processed silver nanowire/zinc oxide composite transparent electrodes. The transparent electrodes showed a low sheet resistance of -13 ff）.sq-1 and high transmittance of -93% as well as superior mechanical flexibility. Power conversion efficiencies of -7.57% and -7.21% were achieved for devices fabricated on glass and plastic substrate, respectively. Moreover, the flexible devices did not show any degradation in their performance even after being folded with a radius of-480 μm.

The morphology and structure of the oxide films of Ti in H3PO4 were investigated by galvanos tatic anodization, SEM and XRD. The oxide film grew from some pores in the grooves to layered microdomains as increasing anodizing voltage. The crystallinity of the oxide films decreased with the increase of the concentration of the electrolyte. The model has been proposed for the growth of the oxide films by two steps, i.e. by uniform thickening and by local deposition.

We focused on developing penetration-type semitransparent thin-film solar cells(STSCs) using hydrogenated amorphous Si(a-Si:H) for a building-integrated photovoltaic(BIPV) window system. Instead of conventional p-type a-Si:H, p-type hydrogenated microcrystalline Si oxide(p-μc-SiOx:H) was introduced for a wide-bandgap and conductive window layer. For these purposes, we tuned the CO2/SiH4 flow ratio(R) during p-μc-SiOx:H deposition. The film crystallinity decreased from 50% to 13% as R increased from 0.2 to 1.2. At the optimized R of 0.6, the quantum efficiency was improved under short wavelengths by the suppression of p-type layer parasitic absorption. The series resistance was well controlled to avoid fill factor loss at R = 0.6. Furthermore, we introduced dual buffers comprising p-a-SiOx:H/i-a-Si:H at the p/i interface to alleviate interfacial energy-band mismatch. The a-Si:H STSCs with the suggested window and dual buffers showed improvements in transmittance and efficiency from 22.9% to 29.3% and from 4.62% to 6.41%, respectively, compared to the STSC using a pristine p-a-Si:H window.

In this study the partially divorced eutectic microstructure ofα-Mg andβ-Mg17Al12was investigated by electron backscatter diffraction,transmission electron microscopy,and phase-field modeling in hypoeutectic Mg-Al *** orientation relationships between the individual eutecticαgrains,eutecticβphase,and primaryαgrains were *** the amount of eutectic morphology is primarily determined by the Al content,the in-depth microstructure analyses and the phase-field simulation suggest non-interactive nucleation and growth of eutecticαphase in theβphase grown on the interdendritic primaryα***,phase-field simulations showed a preferred nucleation sequence where theβphase nucleates first and subsequently triggers the nucleation of eutecticαphase at the movingβphase solidification front,which supports the microstructural analysis results.
