Effect of substrate materials on rutile crystalline orientation in plasma-sprayed TiO2 coatings

TiO2 coatings are of technical importance owing to their promising applications to photocatalytical, electrical, optical and tribological coatings. Thermal spraying process has been widely used to deposit both metallic and nonmetallic coatings. During thermal spraying, spray particle at fully or partially melted condition is projected to a substrate and subsequently flattens, rapidly cools and solidifies. Therefore, a coating in lamellar structure is usually formed as a quenched microstructure. TiO2 coatings were deposited on different substrates through plasma spraying with fused-crushed powder in rutile phase as feedstock to reveal the crystalline orientation in the coatings. XRD results show that the coatings consist of rutile phase with a fraction of anatase phase, and the rutile phase presents a preferable crystalline orientation along [101] direction. It is found that the orientation factors of rutile phase in the thin coatings are significantly influenced by substrate materials. The thick coatings yield the same orientation factors of 0.22 to 0.23 on all substrates in spite of substrate materials. It is considered that the thermal properties of substrate materials are the dominant factors for the preferable crystalline orientation in rutile phase within plasmasprayed TiO2 coating.

In this paper, the continuously differentiable optimization problem min{f（x）： x∈Ω}, where Ω ∈ R^n is a nonempty closed convex set, the gradient projection method by Calamai and More （Math. Programming, Vol.39. P.93-116, 1987） is modified by memory gradient to improve the convergence rate of the gradient projection method is considered. The convergence of the new method is analyzed without assuming that the iteration sequence {x^k} of bounded. Moreover, it is shown that, when f（x） is pseudo-convex （quasiconvex） function, this new method has strong convergence results. The numerical results show that the method in this paper is more effective than the gradient projection method.

Is There Re-staging Surgery Necessity for Borderline Ovarian Tumors

Objective:This study assessed the necessity of surgical re-staging in women with borderline ovarian tumors(BOTs)and evaluated the impact of complete surgical staging,lymphadenectomy,and omentectomy on disease recurrence and ***:We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients with BOTs.A total of 901 patients were eligible for inclusion in the study,and we evaluated some of the variables and clinical/surgical characteristics of the *** effects of the type of surgical procedure,surgical staging,and complete or incomplete staging on recurrence were *** rates of disease-free survival,overall survival,and recurrence were compared according to complete surgical staging.A Cox regression analysis was performed to identify potential prognostic factors,and survival curves were constructed using the Kaplan-Meier ***:The overall recurrence rate was 13.9%,and recurrence was comparable between the complete surgical staging group and the incomplete groups(P>0.05).The performance of complete surgical staging did not show an effect on long-term survival,and complete surgical staging,omentectomy,and lymphadenectomy had no effect on *** multivariate analyses,only radical surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy were risk factors for the recurrence of ***,we found that omentectomy led to a relatively low recurrence rate in patients with International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics(FIGO)stage>Ⅰ(P=0.022).Conclusion:Our results suggest that complete surgical staging should be considered a standard treatment for patients with advanced stage BOTs but not for those at FIGO stageⅠ.It might be safe to reduce the scope of surgical procedures in patients with early-stage ***,it is not necessary to perform re-staging operations for BOTs with a macroscopically normal extra-ovarian appearance.

The stemness of different side population(SP)cell subtypes in ovarian cancer cells was studied,and the heterogeneity of ovarian cancer stem cells was *** cisplatin-resistant human serous ovarian cancer cell line C13 was stained with the bisbenzimide Hoechst 33342.A flow cytometry-based fluorescence-activated sorting method was used to obtain lower-SP(LSP)cells,upper-SP(USP)cells,and non-SP cells(NSP)based on their sensitivity to the staining time and Hoechst dye *** sphere-forming capability,expression levels of stem cell markers,resistance to high concentrations of cisplatin,and subcutaneous tumorigenicity in NOD/SCID mice of the different cell subtypes were *** C13 cells contained SP cells with stemness characteristics,and the LSP cell subtype expressed higher levels of stem cell markers,had higher in vitro sphere-forming capability,higher cisplatin resistance and higher in vivo subcutaneous tumorigenesis than USP cells(P<0.05).NSP cells had no *** conclusion,different subtypes of ovarian cancer SP cells have different stemness levels,and ovarian cancer stem cells may be heterogeneous.

To investigate the influence of electric parameters and slag system on the solidification quality of electroslag ingot during electroslag remelting,different power supply modes,current strengths and remelting slag systems were used to conduct electroslag remelting experiments on 304L austenitic stainless steel,and the macrostructure of electroslag ingots was *** results indicate that the depth of the metal pool decreases with the reduction of remelting frequency in the low frequency power supply *** effects of different power supply modes,such as low-frequency,direct current straight polarity(DCSP),and direct current reverse polarity(DCRP),on reducing the depth of the metal pool increase in that *** reducing the remelting current strength in the same power supply mode,the depth of metal pool is *** compared to the binary slag system of 70%CaF2+30%Al2O3,the ternary slag system of 60%CaF2+20%Al2O3+20%CaO is more effective in reducing the depth of the metal pool during *** the 60%CaF2+20%Al2O3+20%CaO ternary slag system results in a shallower and flatter metal pool,with columnar crystal growth occurring closer to the axial *** effect is observed for both low frequency and direct current(DC)power supply modes.

Breakout is the most serious production accident in continuous casting and must be detected and predicted by stable and reliable *** sticking region,which forms on the local copper plate and expanded into a"V"shape,is the typical precursor of ***,computer vision technology was exploited to visualize the temperature change rate of the copper plate based on the temperature signals from thermocouples;then,the static and dynamic features of the abnormal sticking region were ***,logistic regression and Adaboost models were used to study and identify these features,resulting in the development of a mold breakout prediction model based on computer vision and machine *** test results demonstrate that the proposed model can effectively distinguish anomalous temperature patterns and considerably reduce false alarms without any missing *** a result,the proposed method could offer valuable insights into the realm of abnormality detection and prediction during continuous casting process.

Low-activation vanadium alloys,with the reference composition of V-4Cr-4Ti have been considered as one of the most promising candidate materials for structural components such as the blanket in future fusion reactors,thanks to their excellent neutron irradiation resistance,superior high-temperature mechanical properties,and high compatibility with liquid lithium *** self-cooled liquid lithium blanket using structural materials of vanadium alloys is an attractive concept because of the high heat transfer and high tritium breeding *** more than 2 decades of research,technological progress has been made in reducing the number of critical issues for application of vanadium alloys to fusion *** this paper,the recent research and development activities of vanadium alloys are summarized,including significant progress achieved on fabrication technology and composition optimization,coating and corrosion,improved understanding of irradiation effects upon microstructure and material properties,retention of hydrogen isotopes,as well as advancements in joining and *** particular,the fact that recent products from China,Japan,US and France showed similar properties which meant the fabrication technology has been almost standardized.
